So, basically a green Batman who calls his robins/ sidekicks, lol.
I really want to say it is good, because hunter needs some card draw. I really want to.
But your next turn is playing savanna highmane, the turn after you want to play the swamp king (or your other savanna or hound master + a strong 3 mana hunter card). At turn 8 you finally have the chance to play your 2 one drops - 3 turns later!!! It is really late. That´s why this card is bad. Really bad and I am sad about it.
You're missing the point, the biggest problem with hunter is that he NEEDS to curve out.
If you don't have highmane on 5, you play this, draws 2 1 drops and the next turn you have a higher chance to get Highmane.
It's there to THIN your deck out. Add consistency to the draws. Allow you to get the clutch kill commands and highmanes when you need it.
Nothing crushes hunter more than needing 5 damage to kill the opponent, having 2 call of the wild, 2 kill commands but then drawing one fierey bat.
This is a good card. Great card? no. But definitely a GOOD replacement for Azure Drake
There may be more value in the fact that you are thinning your deck, than in having the 1-drops in your hand suddenly.
This Card is good in that sense that you can get rid of your 1-drops for better draws (Topdecks) in the mid and lategame.
I think this may be a great mid-range card, also the big advantage of increasingly the likelihood of topdecking Savannah Highmane as a 6 follow up or other late game card by removing some early game from the draw. The question is are there 1 drops that will have a big enough effect after turn 5? Or maybe it was blizzards goal to increase the quality of the topdeck throughout the rest of the game, I almost think this card could be comparable to tracking. We we have to wait for the full set...
Blizzard likes overpowered 1-mana drops to make class/archetype "better", so we may see some "good" 1 drops to come :)
How can you guys even judge the power level of this card considering the fact that it's only the 2nd hunter card revealed?
Card draw for hunters! And it's specific too! I don't understand people who are hating, this is something hunter needed. The 1 drop pulls make it so there's less of a chance that your topdeck is shit. This is like an auto include for Hybrid/ Midrange
Can also let you draw a one mana beast to activate kill command not a huge thing but still nice to have that
It looks like batman because draws 2 Fiery Bat?
Interesting, Hunter finally gets some draw, and targeted to boot. In Wild, I've been debating between playing Webspinners or Alley Cats (for Scavenging Hyena synergy) and the end result was playing only one of those for fear of drawing them late. Now with this, I can thin out my deck while being proactive. The major downside of thise, aside from stats, is the fact that it's not a beast for beast synergy decks, and is on the 5 slot, meaning it competes with Knuckles, Ram Wrangler and Tundra Rhino in midrange beast Hunters. Don't think I'd be taking out either of those cards for this. In Standard though, that slot is a lot less crowded...but the 1 drops are not as enticing as Webspinner.
nerf to Firelands Portal
It's not an intended nerf, but if it's stats are below average, then it technically makes it worse. Notice that 'worse' and 'bad' are very different things.
Anything with below average stats (and no other effect) does, objectively, make it worse.
Besides, it seems unlikely he was being serious
To "objectively" say that, you'd have to show that the average stats of all 5 drops is higher than this minions. Considering that there are relatively few 5 drops with vanilla stats (5/6 or 6/5) and even fewer above that I'd say the average drop off firelands would be vanilla 4 cost aproximately
Good
ba da da dam BATMAN
What 1 drop do you want to draw on turn 5 and why? Paladin has cards that buff your whole hand and Small-Time Recruits didn't see any play. Hunters Buff cards are even worse so in what deck would that make sense? And it isn't even a beast so why would I play that over Stampeding Kodo that can kill a minion for me and has beast synergy or Carrion Grub that costs 2 mana less with beast synergy and fights for the board early on?
When you didn't draw your one drop as a hunter you are most likely dead anyway. That card looks like trash to me.
// Edit: So either you didn't draw your early game then it is too slow for a swing turn or you did draw your early game and it is a bad Vanilla 3/5 that does nothing.
I'm guessing they will introduce some hunter 1 drop minions because otherwise this card is absolute garbage and they know it. It might even have quest synergy.
What 1 drop do you want to play in your midgame in a class that has basically no card draw and a 1 drop that isn't totally broken?
