The Toxins
Who is Xaril?
- Xaril is a Mantid who resides in Klaxxi'vess, the main base of the Klaxxi in central Dread Wastes.
- He is one of the Klaxxi Paragons, a champion from past eras who was preserved in amber for future use in case of a great crisis.
- A true master of Alchemy, he uses his abilities to create Poisons and Explosives!
- In World of Warcraft, you awaken Xaril out of the amber he is encased in and then go on a hunt to find ingredients for him to use in his poisons.
- Xaril and the other Klaxxi Paragons eventually turn themselves over to aid Garrosh when he unearthed the heart of the Old God, Y'Shaarj.
Xaril WoW Quotes
- "There are many wonderful poisons, Wakener. Some can boil you alive. Some will eat your flesh. Some burst you open from the inside. So many wonderful varieties."
- "Have you ever tried drinking poison, Wakener? You must start with something very mild, only a few drops at first. You will likely become violently ill. Perhaps you will even lose an antennae or two. But do it long enough, and you will become quite used to it."
- "I was once the Empress Shek'zeer's most prized royal alchemist, peerless, and above all others."
- "Pah! I remember when Un'sok was still a drone, afraid to mix his first toxin. I dare him to face me alone. Then we shall see whose alchemy is supreme."
thx
So building a deck with this.
Nicely done!
I am very excited for this legend. I toyed with spare parts but I considered them to be something like one fifth of a card in terms of their power. Looking at the toxins though some of themy are actually the power of actual hearthstone cards or at least something like three fourths of a card worth of value each. Getting two of them plus still getting a creature that's just like one mana behind on stats sounds kind of solid to me.
As a side note, I hope we get an easter egg interaction with Garrosh from our new legendary, since they have a connection with him from the lore.
This card is on the first view pretty bad, I mean why would someone play a 4 mana 3/2 while there are so many good 4 mana cards?
On the other hand, rogues lost many 4 mana cards with Piloted Shredder and Oil. Now this is the tricky part:
You can have more than just 2 copies of a card. O guess this card pushes some midrange-ish rogue a lot with all these released cards. Now the question is: which cards can you play with xaril? Guess we will have a new meta soon after the release of this expansion.
THE HYPE IS REAL
Very cool article design, good job Hearthpwn!
Tentacles for Arms- new worst epic, will never see play. Having 2-2 weapon for early board control is fine, but why would anyone want to have it forever and on turn 5?
btw nice design for article
First of all great job Hearthpwn on Xaril reveal. I love how you did this! And the legendary itself is a pretty good one. But the warrior weapon looks weak, way to much mana for a weapon like that, but maybe there are gonna be cards interacting somehow with it?! At the first look the weapon looks bad,but maybe it's gonna be good, somehow, with the future cards that will get revealed. (or it's just gonna be another story like Poisoned Blade)
Shout out to the staff who made this card announcement really great looking. It looks sweet on on mobile as well (that's where I saw it first).
This is what it looks like:
Sad that none of the toxins can be applied to my weapon.
Thought of that as well but it might prove to be too strong. We'll see, maybe we'll get more variations of Toxins in the future *fingerscrossed
more slow klunk, interesting stuff, but still...
I guess I stand corrupted. Corrected*. That tentacle will actually more unplayable than dreadsteeds once KT and Baron are out of standard, if the legendary that pulls rattles doesn't flood the board with them. (and is much better use din standard for sylvanas, tirion, and cairne, rather than steeds)
I found Xaril's voice actor
Xaril so good :O 11 out of 10 Unearthed Raptors approve :)
A 2/2 weapon that comes back to your hand after you are done using it...
