The Toxins
Who is Xaril?
- Xaril is a Mantid who resides in Klaxxi'vess, the main base of the Klaxxi in central Dread Wastes.
- He is one of the Klaxxi Paragons, a champion from past eras who was preserved in amber for future use in case of a great crisis.
- A true master of Alchemy, he uses his abilities to create Poisons and Explosives!
- In World of Warcraft, you awaken Xaril out of the amber he is encased in and then go on a hunt to find ingredients for him to use in his poisons.
- Xaril and the other Klaxxi Paragons eventually turn themselves over to aid Garrosh when he unearthed the heart of the Old God, Y'Shaarj.
Xaril WoW Quotes
- "There are many wonderful poisons, Wakener. Some can boil you alive. Some will eat your flesh. Some burst you open from the inside. So many wonderful varieties."
- "Have you ever tried drinking poison, Wakener? You must start with something very mild, only a few drops at first. You will likely become violently ill. Perhaps you will even lose an antennae or two. But do it long enough, and you will become quite used to it."
- "I was once the Empress Shek'zeer's most prized royal alchemist, peerless, and above all others."
- "Pah! I remember when Un'sok was still a drone, afraid to mix his first toxin. I dare him to face me alone. Then we shall see whose alchemy is supreme."
I love it. This is something that will get a lot of use and i can't wait to try it out. Combo engine! So many possibilities.
OH YES!!
Of course this is not dr. balanced level, but i do really appreciate the cool new stuff added to rogue, I think the class needed just this to bump its game up to par with the other classes!
PS: AMAZING reveal, hearthpwn crew! I respect you for making this so darn cool!
Glad you liked it ;D It's always fun doing something extra special.
This is a very cool post!
Looks awesome!

Guess the Innkeeper drunk a bit too much when he brought some guy in who wielded this weapon. I mean c'mon how dare you bring Xaril in and afterwards some random guy with this weapon?
Just out of curiosity... since when did you guys from hearthpwn know about this card? :3
Really nice presentation btw. :)
Tentacles for Arms is the worst card reveal yet. Worse than The Boogeymonster, and that was pretty bad. The only thing that could have made this weapon worth the cost would have been Deathrattle: Reequip this weapon.
Instead of creating shit, unusable cards, Blizzard could release 100 card xpacs, and leave the 34 shit cards in the trash bin.
Yes, because infinite 2 damage weapon attacks for 5 mana would be balanced, right? /s
next reveal: "Give Tentacles for Arms +4/-1 wherever it is."
my point is that it's hard to judge until we have a more complete picture of the set.
If it has such property, you wouldn't be able to equip any other weapon because it would be instantly replaced by a deathrattle effect of this one.
So his is how they cycle out the spare parts, makes me wonder if there will be more minions that spawns toxins...
well...i'd often take this in Arena and be psyched that this card lets warrior be able to swing reliably for the rest of the game. the death rattle IS powerful if you think of this "always be able to play a weapon". like a 5 cost rogue hero power after a Justicar in card form. Very cool mechanic, "buyback" essentially. the rate for a mere 2/2 weapon for 5 however may be too slow for a competitive constructed meta. That said, a few efficient weapons backed up by this as a singleton doesn't really sound so bad in many potential builds, as NOT having a weapon at all is often terrible for warrior. This can let you lean on synergies that care about weapons more reliably, like Spiteful Smith. likely needed to cost 4 though, but they thought it too good there, so it seems expensive at 5. same fate that poisoned blade had potentially, but i think this will find a home occasionally.
But I hope to see another new efficient and cheaper weapon in the set too, but I have a hunch we may not see a new 4+ power weapon in this set to fill the void that will be felt from DeathsBite, making us look to Ogre's maul and Arcanite Reaper for heavy hits more. Less weapons that can hit for 4 damage in one swing may make the meta for 5/4s survivability way different etc. I'm looking forward to Standard rotation shaking the tree a bit.
Not sure how to feel about it... cost wise bit high, but the rewards are good... Maybe if he had poison effect on him since he is a poison master heh.
Not sure for the Warrior weapon. They could at least made it a 3/2 to feel like an eternal Fiery War Axe.
Maybe I'm wrong though and it would have been OP.
Unearthed Raptor Rogue still lives
