No Free Packs on TGT Launch
Unlike the Goblins vs Gnomes launch event, we won't be getting any free card packs this time around Daxxarri confirmed earlier today on Twitter. We didn't believe that we'd be getting any free packs since there was no indication of this in the recent client patch, but it's worth pointing out.
Quote from DaxxarriAre we getting free TGT packs on launch like with GvG?
Nope. Not too late to pre-order for a discount on a bunch of TGT packs though--if you haven't already.
Fel Reaver Bug Fixed
A bug with Fel Reaver and Gnomish Experimenter which prevented you from seeing what cards they had drawn or discarded has been fixed.
Quote from Yong WooAre the changes to Fel Reaver & Experimenter (not showing the cards) intended?
Negative. We are looking into it.
So this is probably gonna be in the game for at least 8 more months?
I recommend you go try it now. :)

not stop playing but i'll not spend a dollar from now on. its not all about 3 free packs its about what it means, i will not pay any money to a greedy company. greed is not a solution, look at riot for example, i spend 300 dollars to League of Legends but they dont force me even for 1 dollar, skins didnt change anything between players. in lol if u dont have legendary skins it changes nothing but in hearthstone if u dont have legendary cards u cant climb to legendary rank. do u know why there are too many face hunters and aggro paladins ? i know, because its CHEAPER than a control deck with ysera, ragnaros etc or a handlock with malganis, jaraxxus, giants. i really want a control warrior deck, more than anything in this game but i cant afford dust requirement and its end up like a cheap aggro paladin and a midrange hunter.
sorry for my bad english but i know u guys understand what i meant.
In League you can't perform as consistently without paying for champions... Hearthstone (if you're devoted) you can get all the legendaries you want. You also don't really need Legendaries, sure they're useful but you can do without them if you need to. Sure you won't hit legend or get to high ranks, but who cares? Ladder isn't everything, in fact climbing it is kinda pointless unless you're going to hit legend ranks. I play hearthstone F2P and love it, because Blizzard isn't so greedy to demand us to pay money. Also Blizzard isn't forcing you to pay by not giving you free shit... If you go up to someone in the street and tell them to give you $5 for no reason, they're not greedy because they didn't give it to you.
Are u working for blizzard ? look, u join this site one and haf hour ago and u post 4 comment in one hour and all of them are like dont blame blizz, blizz is an angel etc. (yes we can see all your activity from your profile :) )
how much they pay u dear blizzard personnel. i hope u can buy 3 packs with that at least.
Haha, yes I know you can see my activity. I'm not that idiotic. I merely was surprised at the fact that everyone was hating on Blizzard, acting as though they know how to run a business. Blizzard evidently knows what they're doing. Only a fool would deny it. I'm probably going to get downvoted to hell from people that don't like that fact, but that's what it is. A fact.
we are customers and companies means nothing without CUSTOMERS. I already buy pre-order pack but when i see their answer on twitter i wish i didn't buy it. i know i can't return that pre-order its too late but i can do something for future, and that something is not paying anymore. Maybe they dont give a shit about 1 customer but they have -1 customer now.
Plenty of people have gotten challenger from playing 1 champ in league, just got to play the game mechanically well and you can usually overcome a counter pick in most cases.
I love how Gnomish Experimenter was fixed right along with Fel Reaver, but Das Chickenmaiker is so massively disrespected he didn't even get side-eye from the title.
Any idea what time TGT will go live on Monday? I recall BRM went live around 1ish ET after several 15-30 minute delays.
No free packs for TGT does suck, but they are not entitled to do it because its a business. But with that being said it does goes a long way if the actually did.
1. Shows the community they actually care. In the grand scheme of things what is 3 packs when they make 20+mil a month.
2. It's good publicity, It makes people feel good about the company and in the end, people with good vibes will promote, pass the word along that this is a company worth spending money on. Just remember the last time you've had a bad experience with a company, did you go back? Probably not... People with bad experience with a company will tell 2-3 times more people that they had a negative experience when compared to a person who has a good experience. Just on word of mouth can hurt your bottom line.
3. Get a better public relations person to write the response rather letting than Daxxarri write it. Optically it just looks really bad and greedy. You alienate people with a comment like that.
4. I'll end this with a quote, " You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar." I think this applies to this situation very well.
This comment... This guy... These words...
You should be working at Blizzard. not Daxxarri.
Name one person that will stop playing the game because they didn't get a free pack.
That's the not the point... people will still play the game regardless of the free packs.
It's good business sense to keep your customers happy. That comment by Daxxarri will annoy or piss off people that were sitting on fence trying to decide whethe or not to buy TGT expansion special. That comment may sway people away from buying those packs. Blizzards goal is to make more money...Unhappy customers don't spend money.
I wont name one person, I will name many. F2Ps & New players...
I seriously doubt any devoted F2P players will stop playing... I'm personally F2P, and I have a damn good collection. I'm not going to stop playing because I didn't get 3 packs... The fact that I don't get those packs means I'm going to grind more to make up for it. I've been grinding since the announcement of TGT and I have nearly enough gold for 50 packs. F2P players know playing the game without spending real money is harder. But that means we're willing to grind it out to get those packs... Anyone that says "Oh I don't get 3 packs? I'm quitting," is just an idiot...
No you are missing the point. As a business if you make a decision that saves you money and it doesn't result in you losing customers then that is a good business decision. In business you don't want a deal where your counterparty is ecstatic because that means you left something on the table. You could have negotiated a better deal. If you have a counterparty that is generally ok then that means you've managed the business relationship effectively.
Here's an ugly truth. Blizzard cares more about pay-2-play players than free-2-play players. In fact, I'd wager they really only care about free-2-play players to the extent they provide gaming experiences for pay-2-play players. Blizzard is a business, not a charity. Their bottom line is profit. They've been incredibly astute in how they've crafted HS's business model but don't be fooled to think that there is anything at the center of it other than the paying HS player.
You made my point in one of your post above. The goal is to make money/profit . You don't annoy your customer/lose customers if it potentially could ruin your profits. In a negotiated business deal I agree with you, but customers are not a party or a rival business where you negotiate a deal logically. Customers go off emotion. How was the experience? Did I get treated well/fairly? Was the service good?... If they are not treated well and have a bad expeience they are not likely to spend their money.
3 free packs won't hurt their bottom line. The hardcore/pro/dedicated players will still buy the packs. Again, the goal is to increase profit. The 3 packs may entice new players to play HS, get hooked and spend more money packs; thus increasing HS revenue stream. And they if don't get hooked and dont spend money, what is 3 packs in the end to blizzard. It works on two ends chance to increase revenue from new players and keeps the community happy by receiving some free packs.
Fel Reaver Buff! :o
Or behind Blizzard's sicret goals:
No packs no life ;-;
