As is recent custom, Blizzard announced the upcoming changes in a graphic with hints at cards being changed, but not the exact changes themselves yet. Stay tuned for Thursday's Patch for that information!
Quote from BlizzardGot word from E.T.C. that some changes to the lineup are coming this Thursday! 👀
Changes in Card Form
Shout out to the amazing DatMageDoe who compiled this list. Upvote their post to show appreciation!
Because not everyone recognizes cards by art alone, the cards getting buffed, sorted by class:
DRUID
HUNTER
MAGE
PRIEST
ROGUE
SHAMAN
WARLOCK
WARRIOR
NERFS
- Rowdy Fan
- Overseer Frigidara
- Twig of the World Tree
- Death Knight in general. Could be system/class wide changes, or a sign they haven't fully solidified their nerf choices yet.
I'm so bored of playing against Discover Knight. Unless they make some big changes to mechanics tonight then I don't see anything changing. They can buff all the cards they want but Discover Knight just dumps on any board based deck from a great height.
I’m confused. Couldn’t they have simply nerfed DK and leave the other cards alone? Did all those cards need buff? Mc Blingtron? Spitelash Siren? Besides DK being OP and Warrior being shit, we’re the other classes really underperforming besides Warlock?
Most classes have 0-1 viable decks, so buffs are actually needed. More playable decks usually lead to a more diverse and interesting meta.
This is yet another situation where people wants buffs for archetype they dont want to face. How was it with Curse warlock? Omg curses so weak, blizzard please buff they look so fun. And then everyone hates them. Y'all dont wanna arcane hunter who just point spells at your face to be thing
looks like the hotfix went into effect. just played a druid who tried to break is world tree weapon and got no 10 mana on turn 4. he instant conceded against me after lol. GG druids time to actually play the game instead of getting free 10 man on turn 4.
where are the details? when are they introducing the patch?
Tomorrow 10 AM PT probably
Good, Twig getting nerfed was long overdue. Really should have happened when Wildheart Guff was printed. More curious about the buffs though, seems to be a fairly large list.
As someone with a golden Twig who got tired of playing Druid, I completely agree.
Stranglethorn Heart getting a buff is insane (in a good way)! I am so happy for this.
My Stranglethorn Hunter deck currently has my highest winrate of all decks (especially versus DKS), so to receive a buff to it is going to make it even crazier.
Roll on Thursday! :-D
One or two more hot takes for the pile, from a hunter's perspective.... First, Halduron Brightwing should have buffed arcane spells in hand as well as in deck, from the start. I expect that's the change Blizzard will make to the card, but it won't be enough to make "Arcane Hunter" a Thing. In order to make it a Thing while buffing only Halduron, Blizzard would have to make the card straight busted, like giving *all* spells bonus damage, and I don't see them going that far. The archetype needs further changes, like expanding it to a second school, like nature (hello, Shell Shot), reworking Arcane Quiver to benefit from spell damage, and straight buffing Eversong Portal (giving the lynxes 5 health, for example).
Second, reducing the mana cost of Stranglethorn Heart would be welcome, but I think a better change would be to make Banjosaur 7 mana. At 10 mana the card can't be used except in a build-around deck using hunter's clunky, and slow, cheat-out options. At 7 mana, you wouldn't feel bad about including "cheap" beasts in the deck, for 'saur to draw, giving the card more utility in mid-range decks. Also, compare it to cards like Hydralodon; does its effect really require it to be that much more expensive?
I completely agree that Arcane Quiver should gain the Spell Power bonus and pass it on to make it more viable
I think Halduron Brightwing should give that +1 arcane buff at start of game instead of as a battlecry. Then we would see more spell hunters.
That would be great but I doubt they would ever make such a rework.
Unless they go crazy with these buffs, I doubt Warlock will become playable.
Control Warlock problems are much deeper than single target removals (although he needs them too). He mainly lacks win condition, healing and resource generation.
And Fatigue Lock is... just bad. Slow, inconsistent, inflexible and without a reliable finisher. Totem Shaman does pretty much the same thing but better, so why bother with Warlock?
My best guess for Death Knight general nerf is changes to how discovering works for them. Probably making it less likely you'd discover cards that require runes you don't have in your deck.
Honestly maybe they should make runeless cards that give bonus effect based on what runes you have
Twig getting nerf yay
If announcement of an announcement is so good, why isn't there an announcement of an announcement of an announcement?
One whole buff for priest. Let's shake up the meta!
All we're gonna get now is the combo relic Demon Hunter. I don't see any nerfs to that.
