The HearthPwn Tavern Is Closing Its Doors
March 23, 2013 is a date that will be hard to forget.
Almost six years ago I was brought on by Curse as the Community Manager of HearthPwn. Part of the job entailed keeping everyone up to date with the latest news out of the community, and today I am with deep regret and sadness to give you one of the final updates HearthPwn has to offer, words that are difficult to type together - we are closing the doors to our Tavern.
HearthPwn will be closing its doors on June 28, 2019, 2257 days after our journey began. It is on this day you will no longer be able to add new content to the site.
Although our doors may be closing, we’re going to keep the windows open. The history of our site, all the posts, decks, and other content we all have created over the years will be archived and still viewable to those who want to see it. Creating new content will be disabled, our news will no longer be updated.
We’ve all been through a lot together over the years and I’m going to miss delivering content to you all as fast as possible, especially the sleep-deprived card reveal periods. Our amazing deck guide writers over the years have created some of the best content this game has ever seen and educated many new players in new archetypes. I’m quite happy all that content and history will still be accessible because there’s quite a bit of unique content.
Our Fan Creations section with the weekly card design competitions has some of Hearthstone’s most dedicated fans and gave way to some of the coolest card designs and always lead to questions of “Is Blizzard crazy enough to add something like this to the game?”. Only time will ultimately tell, though considering we did end up with Genn and Baku, anything is truly possible if you set your mind to it.
Speaking of those that really put their mind to it, our wonderful selection of forum trolls. You all made us work relentlessly, testing the limits of our moderation system, but you too brought a special charm to the site. Those midday laughs when we couldn’t believe you were at it again are uncountable
I could name so many of you who have improved my life in some way through HearthPwn but I can’t do that for I fear I’d miss out on someone. Even those people I never interacted with directly, there’s a good chance I read something you posted or created and thought highly of it or had a good laugh. Thank you so much for all the heartfelt and informative messages throughout the years, you’re the reason I go through madness to make sure card reveals every expansion were delivered as fast as possible.
I’d like to invite everyone to leave a message in the comment section below. What was your favourite HearthPwn memory? I’d also like to invite you to my Discord server where we can all still keep in touch, talk Hearthstone, and go crazy with card reveals even after HearthPwn closes its doors. I'll also be around on Twitch today talking about memories with y'all.
Stay awesome,
Robert and the HearthPwn Staff
PS. Myself and the moderation team will all still be around until the end. Expect to see continued coverage of the remaining adventure chapters and more. Thank you.
PPS. We still need to declare a winner in our last ever class creation competition.
An update I'd like to add from the MTG Salvation shut down message. Like them, we are also continuing with another project. You may find the old team on Out of Cards.
Quote from Feyd_RuinThe answer to the inevitable question of why is complex, but deserves a response. Our owners have expanded on to other projects, launching such epic endeavors as D&D Beyond. As these have taken off, the development team has shifted focus and simply does not have the time and resources for us that we require. They can simply no longer justify the development, infrastructure, and maintenance costs of the site compared to their other projects.
outof.cards will be much better in my opinion!
MTGSalvation and HearthPwn both announced closures today... could something be up with Curse?
Curse took down Diablo Fans not to long ago too..so yeah I would say something is going on for sure.
Damn, I will miss this site so much... I recently got into hearthstone again (after a break) and made it to legend for the first time after 3 years and this place gave me the energy. Hearthpwn, its community and decks was one of the main reasons why I had and have fun playing hearthstone. I hope the game is not dying for me :( Thanks for the great work! Hearthpwn and Hearthstone always went hand in hand!
The glory days of card reveals was my best memory.
Checking every day to see if the site updated.
This is the best site for Hearthstone and it always will.
Why? Whats just happened?

Damn, I'm going to miss this site. For over 3 years this has been my go to for all things Hearthstone related. New expansions, theory crafting decks, talking to the community, countless salt threads, and now it's all coming to an end. I'm very happy to say I've been along for the ride and thank you to all the Staff and the Moderators that made this website possible. I'm going to miss you Hearthpwn :(
IS 2257 A PRIME NUMBER?
No, 2257 is not a prime number.
For example, 2257 can be divided by 37: 2257 / 37 = 61.
To be 2257 a prime number, it would have been required that 2257 has only two divisors, i.e., itself and 1.

2257 is an odd number, because it is not evenly divisible by 2.

A number is a perfect square (or a square number) if its square root is an integer; that is to say, it is the product of an integer with itself. Here, the square root of 2257 is about 47.508.
Thus, the square root of 2257 is not an integer, and therefore 2257 is not a square number.

The square of 2257 is 5 094 049 because 2257 × 2257 = 22572 = 5 094 049.

Kindest regards,
Cr01s1s.
</header>Where am I suppose to farm my fake internet points now? ^^
On a more serious note, hats off for the staff that kept this place running, rain or shine, busy time or slow weeks;
Your work and effort - and the humongous amount of community content - are what made this place this awesome
You will all be missed, aye, even you who read this line <3
The first, best and only site i ever came to for Hearthstone info. Sad to see it go but good luck in the future.
What a sad sudden news...
I am from Argentina and because of my language, I have rarely commented in the forum, but for more than 5 years I have added this web to my home tabs and absolutely every day, I kept informed with each news, deck, letter , nerf, raffles and competitions, among others.
My dialogue would not have been as fluid as I would have liked, but reading, reading has always been what attracted me again and again, what filled the coffers of my eyes and the main source of the heartbeat to this game I want with love.
I've become so accustomed, that I'm really going to miss them, they're going to miss them and above all, I want to thank the effort of the people behind this, the day to day, the constant update, the joy, the jokes and jokes, but Above all, respect.
Hopefully, they will still have the strength to continue with other projects that are just as ambitious in scope, and hopefully they will be as profitable as they hope.
From this corner of the world, I send a giant hug to the people who did everything possible so that we can inform ourselves, read, learn and join our hobby for Hearthstone.
I have always thought that sad would be the day that Hearthstone disappears, because this is very close to my nightmares, even so, I wish the developers the best, they have given the best and that is impossible to change, I feel belonging and proud towards you.
Thank you very much for all these years!
Hug and hopefully, in heart, can continue in this that they like so much.
Hey my friend your English is good :)
And much better than my Spanish :P (I live in the UK)
CLEEEEEEuS WHYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!
I too am a longtime mmo-champion goer who immediately brought me here once the site was up.
Thank you for the great content, up-to-date news, off-meta decks, fan creations, and so much more. This was the place I always had in mind for where the Hearthstone community was and it is certainly sad to see it go. Hopefully our next location sees the same success, if not more!
Appreciate you and wishing you the best of luck. <3
Sad day, but I suppose you can't run this site forever. What matters is its quality never got lower and that's something you can be proud of.
I was mostly lurking here, with no registered account until recently, but thanks to Hearthpwn forums I was able to trade that 80 gold quest, meeting many new people in game, some of which are still in my friend list.
It may not seem much, but at the end of the day that's what I'll keep as a memory from hearthpwn : the best place to hang on with the hearthstone community.
Thanks, and good luck in whatever you and your staff will be doing next. You will be missed
end of an era.
thanks to everyone.
see you all at the new place.
😔
Thank you, once again the mods come through with some good news to brighten my day. Sweetness, I will give it a try.
