How about not overcomitting to a wide board and completely playing into plague?

What do I know though? I just started this game in vanilla and learned not to overextend into things like Flamestrike & Holy Nova. Must be hard being a modern player who never learned that lesson when going face.

wow you must be so smart!! how are you gonna beat druid with that hides under 40 armor?

lite0 already mentioned going tall instead of wide. Though, if we only had a tech card that completely removes Spreading Plague. Oh that's right, bad aggro players don't use tech cards to adapt to the meta, even when said tech card completely nullifies said complained about card. My bad.

Patience and persistence I would think. Play enough to force them to Spreading Plague, then really commit after they do, trying to trade favorably in case of another. If you keep up the pressure, they may not have much of an opportunity to actually play their combo since a lot of it involves a bit of a tempo loss to set up.

what i mean is; im holding my cards in my hand. druid has 50 hp already. cant play my "low stated card e.g Si7 agent" have two minions on board 4/4 and a 5/4. druid uses swipe, living roots, wrath, spellstone

it clears easily and draws easily.

if i didnt dusted kun back in time, i would have joined them by now

posted a message on The Rogue class and the comunity
    Quote from Qulx >>

    Hello, good evening fellas,

I got a question. Why is the rogue class so blindly loved by the comunity? Rogue has always had the most polarizing matchups, with their mana cheat and get stuff back to the hand stuff. But whenever you ask to even take a look at certain class spells, you guys all go crazy. "Don't destroy the class identity!", "prep and shadowstep has been there forever, rogue NEEDS them!" And then later, when rogue decks all feel the same to play against, they are like "why the fck doesn't rogue get cool new stuff?, 5 mana double play dead is so bad. 4 mana deal 3, maybe get a coin also sucks!" Well but guess what, you can't get cool stuff because of your, oh so beloved classic cards. I mean all the new cards have potential, but everything is so overprized in mana crystals, so that the new decks mostly stay in a meme format.

I wish people would stop holding so tight on the "class identity" stuff. That would maybe open the gates to alot more new and unique playstyles for certain classes. (stop giving priest all the dragon shit, ffs, every at least somewhat viable priest deck has to look the same because of the stupid duskbreaker and no alternativ)

community holding on cards has nothing to do with it. blizzard nerfs whatever he wants so community isnt reason why prep shadowstep didnt go HOF.

also playing rogue is interesting. your combos, your stalling ability isnt easy or braindead like druid. most of your combo cards have bad stats (except vilespine and elven minstrel i guess) sometimes doesnt even makes sense.

yeah there was problematic cards in the past. like every class. and if you go wild, you can still experience those.

Class identity was excuse to nerf Blade Flurry and not give rogue any healing tools, until they decided to give rogue healing tools. That's it. Anyone who believes Blizzard has any idea or care of identity is a fool. It's just weak justification for design choices the community disagrees with.

yess i would really love to get 2 mana flurry. without hitting face tho. with kingsbane being a thing, there is no chance

class identity is weird in this game.

Rogue should be tempo class and she gains that via using cheap cards in a turn but nowadays you take some much damage and comboing cards getting very hard. You either left with no hand ( and auctioneer is too slow not that useful anymore. usually its one sprint one auctioneer) or you need to reserve cards to combo another turn meanwhile the opponent class gain the same tempo.

druid had flexibility and card draw. now they also have aoe protection which prevents going wide. it would be cool if it was the only thing but now with their superior armor gain you cant pressure them with two minions.

they also lacked ability to destroy big minions but the spellstone and naturalize( normally wouldnt be used but with that armor and not giving a f about opponent kinda makes it non issue)

so yeah it feels like a mess

posted a message on [Wild] Miracle Rogue - Why is it not being played?
    Quote from GhostHardware >>

I tried to abuse Vanish (also the Clockwork Gnomes and their spare parts) with Red Mana Wyrms for a while and I added Fal'dorei Striders as a second win condition. While it is hard for most decks to remove a vanished Red Mana Wyrm (screw you, Devolution) and the amount of damage you can deal in one turn is ridiculous (Sap is your friend here), you often can't win instantly. Control decks have stupid comeback mechanisms these days, e.g. Frost Lich Jaina with f***ing Lifesteal included, the biggest issue are board-flooding decks.

Most of the time you lose earlier. Rogue is lacking good board clear. I tested several options: Tainted Zealot/Thalnos with classic spells, bc their damage output is too low these days. Cheap shot is too expensive, but it works ofc good with Red Mana Wyrm. 1 Mana 1 Damage would be better here. You need to draw your spells in a specific order to win vs. certain decks and this doesn't happen very often. Vanish is good versus slower decks like druids, but too expensive versus aggressive decks, the damage is already done then. Wild Pyro dies too quickly.

I even tried Tentacle of N'Zoth and Plague Scientist, all of those combos are not reliable enough. Even if you manage to clear the board and establish your Red Mana Wyrm, you can't win in one turn, bc many of your spells are gone. And here is the second problem: the lack of good heal cards (for rogue). You need some time to deal some damage again, but some decks will just burn you down while you collect cards for this purpose and you can't do shit against it.

Yeah, those are my experiences with a miracle-ish Rogue deck. On the other hand, Priest has good heal and board clear, but no good win conditions. :D Maybe you could try to combine Miracle with Kingsbane(Lifesteal>Heal, Blade Flurry>AoE). I rage-disenchanted my cards too often, so that I couldn't test it. xD

this guy pretty much says it all.

i play wild for 2 years and rogue only (almost) and sadly this is the situation im in. i play oil rogue with a miracle engine (one auctioneer and a sprint) but druids gain too much armor. mage and hunter destroys you. and thats most of the ladder.

your burn is limited. your minions kinda weak( usually have 1 or 4 health dies to everything). you need to build the deck with just enough minions and spells or you just stuck with zero mana spells and no auctioneer or have very clunky hand that you cant even combo your cards.

if you draw lucky, then thats a miracle :)

yeah i sae this guys decks. pretty much same. i modify mine all the time.

Old Blade Flurry is key to "oil rogue". Without it, you might as well play pirate warrior or kingsbane if you want to win through weapon damage.

yeah unfortunately thats one of my biggest problems :( and with kingsbane existing, i dont think it will see the molten giant treatment.

posted a message on wild oil rogue

for two years ive been trying to create a wild oil rogue deck. with the deck i made ive only reached around rank 11-12.

tempo-aggro-secret mages and hunters destroys me most of the time.

i dont want deck to be too agressive (i know it can be tho) i kinda want it to be midrangeish deck. which it is right now, but have too many bad matchups.

decklist is: (aside from usual mandatory rogue card like prep, evis, backstab)

i use 2 faldorei for oil drops (also since i have limited burst i need extra minions),

sabotage ( tech for weapons and because of this i only run one vilespine slayer)

tinker oil and deadly poison ( its named oil rogue for a reason)

leeroy ( i had the most success with this compared to loatheb, healbot , dark iron dwarf)

minstrel, azure drakes , thalnos for draw and spell damage

one auctioneer and sprint for miracles.

also two saps and a slayer. ( and a sabotage)

i used in the past: giggling, loatheb, goblin auto barber, kingsbane, dark iron dwarf, kezan mystic, secret eater, piloted shredder, healbot, blade flurry, questing adventurer, violet teacher, shade of naxxramas, conceal, coldblood.

i really want to ladder up with this but stuck around 12-18 ranks. i dont think i play bad but this has very tough matchups so i guess i have to br patient and play everyday for it?
