posted a message on should I tech in Rin for Vs. control?

I don't think Rin makes sense in this meta. Most of the decks will kill you before you destroy their deck.

Basically a 4/9 that gains windfury when you attack and kill a minion with malfurion... Most boring Loa ever. Give it a keyword, a deathrattle or something ! Most of the time it's a vanilla card with no text how cool is that

It doesn't gain winddury. Your hero does.

This is like a neutral, weaker Gahz'rillaGahz'rilla did not see play, and this probably won't other than in decks which specialize in cheating out big minions.

I think just too restrictive to be relied on as removal. It costs one extra mana, the minion needs to be damaged, PLUS you need to be holding a dragon.

IMO many of the Loas submitted do not fit with the spirit of Loas, which are meant to push niche strategies and need to be built around. For example, Shirvallah needs big spells, Hireek needs handbuff cards, Janalai needs hero power boosting cards, etc.

Shadra the Spider is playable in most control Hunter decks and you don't particularly need to build around it. "Control" is too broad an archetype and does not count IMO

Kragwa the Frog is OP and an auto-include in almost every Shaman deck other than Shudderwock. The body itself is worth 6 mana so you are only paying 2 mana for the effect. You just need to hit one friendly totem or one big enemy minion for it to be worthwhile (it even ignores Stealth or "Can't be targeted..."). There is no building around needed for it to be good.

Noctis the Cat is just broken and auto-include in any Rogue deck that plays cards. It's a 0-mana Dreadsteed that can't be silenced and ensures you can always trigger your combos.

Gonk the Raptor pushes the Token Druid archetype, but that is already so prevalent in the meta. You just slot it into your existing token deck. I feel like Loas are meant to encourage new or uncommon deck archetypes.

posted a message on This Week We're Creating Cards Featuring Loa and Spirits From Rastakhan's Rumble

That's not being anal though. It is enforcing the rules consistently. The rules clearly define what Loas and Spirits "are", including the fact their names are structured in a certain format. If you submit a card that is not structured in that format, then it is not a Loa or a Spirit and you should be DQ'ed. Perhaps next time you shouldn't include anything in the rules which you don't intend to strictly enforce, or at least make it clear that it is just an optional suggestion. The way you phrased the rules currently makes the naming format sound compulsory.

People who break the rules and use other naming formats gain an unfair advantage. They get to inject so much more flavor through the name of their card, and stand out from the crowd. For example, instead of being forced to name my Mage spirit something boring like "Spirit of the Cat" (because I thought it was a strict rule), I could have given it a cooler name like "Spectral Familiar" or something like that. Or to use a Loa example, some contestants who ignore the rules were able to submit a badass character like "Hakkar the Soulflayer" as their Loa, whereas others might have ruled that character out to comply with the rules (not a beast and name in the wrong format).

I would err on the side of being anal than being accused of selective enforcing rules and giving some players an unfair advantage. Serves them right for not reading carefully!

Building on the theme of Spell Damage affecting more things than just damaging spells (like Unexpected Results ). The way this would work is simple. Eg if you have Spell Damage +1, then you will draw one more card than usual (so Arcane Intellect will draw 3 cards instead), etc. This will be useful for tempo mage and hand mage decks and provide them with support after Aluneth rotates.

I see a few entries in the competition thread which are not beasts. And some don't follow the naming format. So are these rules strictly enforced?

Seems like a good card for Control Priest. You don't even need to combo this with anything, just play it on Turn 9 with a Lich King is good enough.

posted a message on Minion to silence weapons.

I don't think there should be a silence for weapons. It would completely destroy Kingsbane decks. You can already counter such decks in other ways, like killing them before they get out of control.
