SuperAga posted a message on Is control dying? Serious question...Posted in: General DiscussionI have climbed to legend with this deck:
Clown druid is not control, there's nothing even remotely "controlling" about the archetype, it's more of a combo deck. For the most part you just ignore what your opponent does so you can ramp/draw into your clown then get a board state that they cannot interact with.

Tyk3 posted a message on You people deserve sweet f all - Opinion on the communityPosted in: General DiscussionI've bought the last 6 expansions but you're wrong I'm afraid. Without F2P I can't imagine how small the player base would be and the game would pretty much die. To be healthy the game needs a balance of both F2P and people putting money in. Blizzard might not benefit financially directly from F2P but if paying customers are waiting 5 minutes+ for a game they'll soon stop paying and playing. Unless you want HS to go the way of Artifact?

OoZuNoO posted a message on Is Arena doomed at this point?Posted in: General DiscussionI dont understand. Arena has the same rewards as before as far as I know. Getting gold to have some backup resources for it is easy, especially at the start of the reward track.
If you are a good player, you can still go infinite, just like in the old system.
Imagine if you're a new player, just starting out. You dont want to spend money yet cuz you're still trying out the game, so you play arena to grind packs, as every f2p should. You're not very good at it cuz you're noob, so most of your runs dont give you the 150g back. After spending all your initial gold, you must grind lvls in the battle pass. It takes FOREVER, so you play arena less and less often, and still you havent earned nearly enough to build the deck you want, so what do you do? Spend real money or quit the game.
If even veterans cant always go infinite e grind in arena, what about the new players? Forget arena, the whole game can die if they keep treating f2p players like this.

Psy_Kik posted a message on Blizzard's response to the whole system revampPosted in: General DiscussionQuote from Fyrfytr998 >>I've always defended Blizz's right to maximize profits, but I'm now at a point where I even feel my dollars are being abused.
It's not just the whales making things difficult. There is absolutely a correlation with price gouging to off set the horde of players that don't make Blizzard a single penny. Blizzard isn't the only one taking advantage of the money paying base. (I also acknowledge that Blizzard would still try to maximize profit even if every player spent money.)
So it's suggested that they paying base boycott Blizzard. Make them see they went too far as to what's acceptable. Make them change their pricing habits and reward system. There is definitely some merit in that thinking, but I still can't help but realize that much of this crying going on is to get the paying players up in arms to force Blizzard to fix things that ultimately benefits F2P players more. Then they can go right back to not spending a dime on the game while enjoying the benefits of a paying customer.
One thing is for sure. At the end of this expansion, I'm gonna reevaluate just what my entertainment dollar is buying me, and weigh it against other options I'm gonna research out. I quit this game once before for 3 years, I can do it again. Might be time to go back to stand alone RPG's where I don't have to deal with rude players.
Zero appreciation for the fact that the F2P player base is the foundation of the game...the reason you don't have to wait for minutes to find a game...the reason the game isn't already dead on twitch and dead in reality, killed by blizzard to either move on the hearthstone 2 or other projects entirely.
I say this as someone who is not F2P. You are even worse than the clowns on reddit calling for the whole thing to become subscription based.

Yeah, it's a shame. In the old system even if you weren't the best player you could play arena every two days. Now, it's possible that you can only play once a week in the later stages of the system. It encourages spending money and that's bad. Now, if the mediocre players can't effort arena only the good will remain and the skill ceiling will rise again. Making it even more difficult to achieve higher wins. It's a loss for everyone.

The sad part is, they will change the system if they face to much backslash to its original form and people will install Hearthstone again. Until they try the next shit again. 9000xp for 1 year of the dragon pack is the last nail in the coffin.

You have a Hearthstone card profile picture. Come back if you are an adult and think people can have a valid opinion even with an anime profile picture.
Let's see how the system works out. It's out for a day and people raising pitch forks already, just chill out.

Dragons needed some buffs in bg and the small buff to demons won't do much.
