The problem is that blizz are not even trying to make an interesting tavern brawl lately, darkmoon faire brought a ton of new in game mechanics that could make a fresh and interesting tavern brawl for instance :
1. Solar and lunar eclipse brawl, your first spell on each turn cost 2 less and casts twice
2. Wheel of Yogg Saron brawl, after you cast 10 spells, spin the wheel of Yogg Saron
3. Corrupted brawl, all of your corrupt cards are corrupted
I Believe that there are even more interesting mechanics that could make it into tavern brawl, It just look like they absolutely don’t care about this mode at all
I believe that the main problem with Tickatus is exactly how annoying and uninteractive it is to lose to gala/control warlock playing control deck, and the worse part is actually that both of this warlock decks just don’t have any wincondition other than tickatus, so if you play any value oriented control deck you simply lose to tickatus without any chance of winning, yes, I know, there should be a counter for a greedy control decks, but I think cards like archbishop benedictus, are by far more, design wise, better than tickatus.
Back to the topic, Y’shaarj require both tempo loss and deck-building restriction, don’t forget that you also need cards in you deck that trigger the corrupt effect, it was probably said by somebody above, but I was a bit to lazy to read, sorry :p
If you are looking for cheap quick deck just to get golden hero try wild big priest it cost around 5k dust, and it only have like 4-5 wild cards, if you in principle don’t want to play wild, better wait until the mid set and hope that priest will eventually get a win condition
Raza is not that much of a problem (even if I am a strong believer that Hearthstone would be a better game if the minimal cost for cards\hero powers was 1 and not 0)
Shadowreaper Anduin and Spawn of Shadows are the problem. they give priest an ability that priest shouldn't have. We need a wild version of the hall of fame that will have cards that will be playable only in casual wild\duels\brawls\etc.
None of them are a problem, Only Raza effect to down "Zero MANA" hero power. Anything zero in this game is a problem, we've seen that on old echo mechanics with Sn1p-Sn4p. Nerf raza to 1 mana and the game will be health again. Zero is a stupid cost to any mechanic in this game. Another card that need to see a nerf is Tour Guide too...a very strong staple in the game actually and a very good friend of an already problematic deck that is ODD pally.
They are a problem and not because they are too strong. They do stuff that goes against priest identity. They fill holes, they allow priest decks to fill their major weakness (inability to go face with no board) and it is bad. That means they will find a way to get into priest decks... forever.
No, they won't. DK priest is only OP if his HP is at zero mana, which give him a lot of value and plays by ping 2 damage at cost zero on face. So, the major problem it's Raza, when it was nerfed this deck was only played by try hards once they coldn't cheat anymore damage for zero mana. DK Priest doesn't need a nerf and Spawn of Shadows is so old and unplayed that really doesn't need a nerf, it may be a staple in future if they Nerf Raza. Once again, nothing that costs zero is health for the game, or everyone forgot about Sn1p Sn4p Warlock?
You, my friend, a mixing things, sn1p sn4p warlock was OP not because it cheated out zero mana mechs but because it could do his combo as early as turn 4, priest starts cheating out damage only after turn 8 and priests damage also is limited by number of cards in his hand, it’s massive but not unlimited, again compared to sn1plock you remind us of.
My point is zero mana is ok for the health of the game but only until it happens in the late game and there is no consistent way of drawing this combo, and that’s the reason lorekeeper Polkelt is OP in this deck no DK nor Raza, polkelt brings consistency to Raza priest that he was missing.
Where is one thing you should know, the counter counts cards that you already disenchanted, if after you crafted an epic counter still show 17/20 that may mean you already had this epic card but disenchanted it
Probably gala priest out heals pretty well against them , and also bomb war suffers to most decks that don’t play around board states and have burst damage from hand like face hunter spell shaman, or tempo demon hunter
You are 100% right OP, but I also think that Paladins basic/classic cards are the weakest in the game, only truesilver and consecration is decent, and I think it is also part of the problem
Hitting legend is easier indeed, yet hitting high legend is harder, because most players that you face in legend has a lower rank (or you even can meet people from diamond) and you get less points and lose more points , right now I’m rank 2k+ and I mostly faced players that at least 1k lower then me (mb it is only my personal “bad luck” though)
I think the reason why we have 65k+ legends is the new ranking system not DH, also I do believe that the class is fine, but some of DH cards should be nerf, and I guess we will have another round of nerfs in a week or two (unless adventure that are coming will bring us new powerful cards)

It actually was a good idea, better answer me, which idiot on the HS team decided it was a good idea to add Lorekeeper Polkelt into the game

That’s nuts, but your BM just spoiled that highlight though

I got her as a preorder golden leg, tried her in big and spell Druid, for about 30+ games never had a chance even to play her
