Why not highlander hunter? It's more successful.

Worst mentality possible. Maybe because some people play to have fun rather than what is the tip top of the meta? Wow, having fun in a video game, what a notion.

How did you open two of the same legendary? They changed their algorithm to only allow duplicate legendaries after you had all for the set.

He's either lying or as I posted stopped opening just to disenchant that one card and then went back to opening which makes literally no sense even if you didn't know about the duplicate thing. Going to go with lying because fishing for pity online is, you know, never a thing...

100 packs, 5 legendaries, 18 epics from opening packs. Went nearly to Pity timer twice. All in all probably average though, even if it feels kinda bad.

That's slightly above average so id feel pretty good. 1 L in 20 is decent.

Then you're very fortunate because in order to get 2x ysera you either A. Have every single legendary in the set or B. Immediately stopped opening packs, dusted ysera, and then proceeded to keep opening packs which is foolish as you cannot pull duplicates until you have them all

posted a message on I believe Galakrond is the C'thun of the expansion. The invoke cards are extremely understated. Don't craft anything day 1!

"Please explain how galakrond can compete with shaman quest."

You realize they synergize insanely well together right? And before you reply with "you lose your double battlecry hero power for the rest of the game." Four 8/8 rush minions is going to be the end of the game in a lot of cases.

It is not even remotely the same. Galakronds minions come with hero power effects to back them up, some of which are tempo based. Cthuns minions had no immediate benefit and were mostly just vanilla in stats if not worse.

Galakrond also has a neutral minion to help you draw him. Many cthun games you wouldn't even draw cthun because if he was near bottom deck it was horrible.

Galakrond also does not require as much improving as cthun did. Once galakrond has been invoked 4 times, you're done. Cthun needed to reach massive stats to win you the game, and often times you needed to drop him early to catch-up on board.

It's just not the same. You can tell on paper that galakrond will be more impactful than cthun was, just like you can tell that blizzard learned from their mistakes with cthun.

posted a message on Call it now - Which class will dominate in the Descent of Dragons meta?

It just straight up will be shaman, at least early on. The writing is already on the wall. The already established best class is getting the better tools than the rest. I'm not saying nothing else will be unplayable and hat not, but many classes requires rebuilding. Shaman will just get improved upon so not only will it be upper strong but there's very little trial and error as the bulk of quest shaman is already established.

posted a message on Does DoD have most powerful expansion cards ever?
    Quote from Aegis24 >>

The issue in the past is the later expansions haven’t been strong enough to impact the meta in a meaningful way.  Perhaps they’re doing this to counteract that.  For now it’s healthy but it’s going to be interesting when the rotation happens because new sets have to compete with DoD

This exactly. This is no question the strongest expansion to date, I think most agree. And that can be a good thing because in a lot of expansions in the past a lot of pre expansion meta decks would go unchanged or only add 2-4 of the new cards, and that's not much fun.

However, a much higher bar has now been set. Following expansions are going to also have to be powerful to avoid what my first paragraph mentioned.

posted a message on How 1 single card almost nullified my hype

    1. This kind of card needs to exist. You may have fun amassing 100+ armor, but do you think anyone else does?

    2. There is still a 99% chance you can run your armor mountain warrior as long as it isn't a meta defining deck. Do you think most people are going to sacrifice 1-2 of their precious card slots in the hopes that they might have a better chance again warrior/druid some of the time?

    3. Tech cards are literally the healthiest cards printable. They are a way to balance the scales without the need of patch intervention. You really think something like this is toxic to the game? Is it more toxic than the potential for the top tier deck being million armor warrior and you seeing nothing but that without counterplay?

Peoples reactions to platebreaker are hilarious. You're so rarely going to ever see it you'll forget it even exists. It might be 1/20-30 games where your precious 100000 armor gets smashed away. Crabs, secret destruction, old big game hunter have existed forever and usually tipped the scales enough if it was pulled off. That's what tech cards are. Payoff cards with the drawback of being severely underwhelming if not pulled off. And don't say "it's still a 5/5 for 5. If you think a 5/5 for 5 is good in this day in age, you're crazy.

Edit: 8/8 dragon rush boi is far more "hype killing" and even that is healthy for the game. TECH. CARDS. ARE. HEALTHY.

The job thing, that "i work and i don't have time to play" If you have a Job you can afford 50$ every 4 months, i do and i even pay it during those 4 months, like 12$ a month. In a game you really like and enjoy i don't think it's a great cost. Games like Duel Links are so much expansive to do anything, so yeah i aggre to this guy(not about comparing to MTG, but the cost not being so high)

Exactly right. Like I realize it costs money to keep up, but as you said if you are working and cannot afford the cheaper pre order bundle when an expansion comes out, you need to just move on to a different game. I would say many gamers spend $50-$60 every 3-4 months or so (if not more frequently) on a new video game. And that's what expansions mean to card games, essentially a new game in that the entire meta shifts and the decks being played change.

And that is all secondary to the fact that you technically can play this game entirely for free if you put the time in. Especially if you're decent at arena.

It's worth noting that 50-60 bucks doesn't get you the full game. It gets you a portion of the game, randomly selected, via 50-60 loot boxes. You can be cool with that, but let's not pretend that it's of comparable value to a game where you pay once and get the whole experience. It's a Skinner box, and we're rats.

Let's not pretend that a card game can be compared to any non card game. Card packs are loot boxes in a sense, but everyone knows that. Card games always have been and always will be. If that's not your thing, don't play them.

We were complaining about how expensive was hearthstone with 3 expansion. And now we have an extra adventure to pay to get cards? 3 + 1? We have to spend extra 20-30 euro to shake the meta? Why don't nerf and buff more often instead?

If this new adventure succeeds , will be a 3 + 3 so expansion and adventure every 4 months. So basically who wants to play will pay for it. Be ready.

So nerfing/buffing is a better option than releasing cards that hope to accomplish the same while making the game more fun and interesting via adding more variety. All attached to an adventure that is usually at least amusing for a time?

Here we go again, the same old "discussion" of "how DARE you wanting something out of the game if you don't spend any MONEY?!!"...

For one guy who thinks it's too much to have another release of new cards between expansions for F2P players, four guys see it necessary to put him in his place. This is so moving, isn't it? I'm sure Bobby Kotick is very proud of you.

I'm not even gonna get into this one. I already feel bad for reading the few responses and wasting a moment of thought on it. I was about to write something more, and it really felt like vividly rotting away. I double checked the spelling of Bobby Kotick's name! For all the talk of MONEY we have here, I give way too much of my time away.

But of course, no discussion that remotely touches this subject would be complete without me saying something to @FortyDust. How could I ever forget you?

I'm so terribly sorry to disappoint you, but our next encounter will be another day. Yet I hope it comforts you to know that I generally disagree in some way with most of what you have said, as I take great comfort in knowing that you would have vehemently argued with everything I could have possibly uttered, except maybe for the parts where I directly quote you.

Where did I  say "how dare you want something out of a game if you don't spend money?" Where did I even infer it? If anything I defended how easy the access to cards in hearthstone is free of charge. My problem is some of these FTP players want everything for free. Everything. Go play any other card game that is 100% free to play with 0 existing potential for profit and see how it is, or if it even still exists.

Don't try to make a blanket statement that anyone defending that product should actually cost money is somehow evil. That's the real world. If I am willing to spend money that I work for on something like digital cards, why shouldn't I have access to a bigger library of them than someone that does not?

You have this warped notion that I, or someone else defending this, think "oh look another free to player bum that wants nothing but handouts." That's absolutely not what I think about the majority of them. I just think people need to be more appreciative of what they have available to them, rather than this we want "more more more" for free mindset. Blizzard has created a means for those players to play the game without giving them a single dime.

And to those of you who responded with "in mtg you have tangible cards that can be sold." Yes of course. You better be willing to fork over a hell of a lot of initial cash to even dip your toe in. Those players that have collections valueing in the upper tens if not hundreds of thousands have been playing for 10/15/20 years if not longer. They're not the types of people that just flip flop around to the current FOTM card game. So people who just see hearthstone and think "that looks cool, but I should be able to start playing with every card free" is boggling to me. And I can totally respect that this is not everyone or even the majority, but those aren't the people I am talking about.

Edit: Oh and I would also like to add that that battlegrounds has absolutely 0 paywall,  is an entirely free play mode that actually has no cash option, that they just released and absolutely didn't have to.
