First, if you're going to pick apart the interview in detail, you should at least quote the actual interview and not Hearthpwn's synopsis on it. That being said....
This is the internet though. People want to sound smart without actually doing the legwork. They want to extrapolate their own biased narrative out of context that wasn't actually there. They want to be right based on the number of sheep willing to believe them, not on a factual basis. They want to apply blanket statements to things they have absolutely no actual knowledge of because the internet makes them feel less ignorant. What a wonderful place to be.
Why not just name the thread "5 reasonable cards I personally dislike"? None of the cards mentioned are problematic. Sure, Ice Block needs to rotate but it's fine. None of these violate anything and the logic (if you can call it that) used is short sighted.
I get it. You don't like losing against these cards, but it doesn't mean anything is problematic. You're just salty.
I've been doing well with Midrange Hunter. I don't even use the Hunter Death Knight in my deck. Plus the games go quick so grinding gold is quicker which is nice for FTP.
This is the most toxic way of thinking, and is the quickest way to kill the game. If new players are constantly getting destroyed by extremely powerful decks that will take them months to obtain, they're not gonna keep playing. Hell, I have a fairly hefty collection and I usually end up just not playing for days on end. You can't just say "Well they don't want to pay money so they'll have a substandard experience" because then we'll never get any new players, which will lead to this game dying a slow and painful death.
No, the most toxic way of thinking is that throwing money at the problem solves it. Giving out a ton of free stuff doesn't solve anything. Noobs are still gonna get wrecked when they found out they suck at making decks and playing the game. Your classification of the problem is completely asinine and shows no big picture analysis. What you are really saying is that you don't give a damn about the new player and that you just want free stuff.
The actual solution is to have a better system in place to not match them up against extremely powerful decks and good players they are not yet ready to face. Then they won't feel as discouraged and will tend to stick around and possibly improve their collection and skill.
4) There are no events in order to find free gold/dust
Really? You mean to tell me there weren't events before the last expansion where I got free gold and packs. Or that last week I didn't get 100 free gold just for logging in on Talk Like A Pirate Day?
Idk man. Its been a year now of me being fully FTP and I'm doing fine and have a damn good collection. To give some perspective I average 2000 gold a month and always have gold and dust to spare at any given time. I think the system is fine as is and I have no intention of quitting nor do I feel like I'm being pushed out. I feel like there is always enough time between expansions for me to save up enough gold to be able to get what I need out of the next expansion.
I just tried a Naga Giants deck to see what the big deal was. I gotta say it just does not feel like an intentional interaction. It really feels bugged and that I'm cheating the system even though it's very much designed that way. I'll take my damn wins though.
I expect it in overwatch, especially early and late season, like if your solidily climbing late season you will see the same player for about 5 games
which i like in overwatch cause it tells me when to get off if there's an instant genji lurking, i guess i do the same when koreans are lurking hearthstone
Are you intentionally ignoring the guy who posted actual hard data?
Given that the amount of abuse you can give someone in game is minimal I'd give it a big no. If you get upset by some emotes and roping, you have bigger issues and may want to consider addressing those.
Now someone friend requesting and verbally abusing is another story. I don't put myself in that situation, but that doesn't give those people a free ride. Actions should be taken against them.
i only play control decks because that is where Hearthstone is fun, but i can't get out of the low ranks to play against other control decks. If only there weren't so many aggro players :(
If you were any good, you'd be crushing those aggro decks with a good enough percentage to move up ranks like control decks are supposed to. The problem is not aggro decks. It's you.
So i'm new player and i decide to spend 60$ on Hearthstone . What i get for that? Let's say about 25% percent of current expansion.
How do i feel? Well , pretty much ripped off. It's like buying Football Manager and you can only play second divisions.
For 60 $ I could buy GTA 5, 2 steam copies of PUBG or Witcher 3 , but no. I will play my "quarter" of the game, "best game in this part of the galaxy".
P.S Don't fool yourself that all that are defending the game are fanboys, some of them are payed for that. Blizzard is not small Indie company , they have they PR team.

That's weird I played just a few minutes ago. Nothing prevented me from playing so it must be playable.

Around 2000 per month. I just do my dailies and am not spending more than an hour or so a day playing.
