Flamestrike is not a "tech" against patron warrior. Without flamestrike you will lose a majority of your games against the best deck in the format (patron warrior), and will greatly hurt your matchup against ANY control deck.  Flamestrike is your way of coming back after your opponent clears your board. Flamestrike helps you in 50% or more of your matches at high ranks, and that is more than enough reason to run the card. Patron warrior is just the most prominent example of a deck that gets completely wrecked by flamestrike, it is still extremely powerful and will win you games that you would have otherwise lost against a lot of other decks.

Also, to your other point about "teching" cards for one deck, that is actually a good idea if it is a bad matchup and it is a popular deck in the format. If there was a card that was game changing against your bad matchup then you would run that card for sure. It's like druids running keezan because otherwise they get wrecked by tempo mage. Do you run a BGH in any deck?  I'm guessing you do, because it is a good card in a lot of matches and outright wins games in other matches, that is what flamestrike is for this deck.

    FIX FUKIN CASUAL!!!

Heading out to leave bad reviews for Hearthstone on every possible avenue. So tired of facing ladder decks on casual...

In the mean time be warned I will be playing minion and card stealing Priest decks. Stall, heal, steal and heal. Yup, if I can't enjoy casual I will then play the most annoying deck in the game.

Priest is far from the most annoying deck in the game. I actually like playing against priest because it is a challenge and makes you really think of what the best play for each turn is. I would have to say hunter is much more annoying. Playing against hunter is almost as brainless and playing with hunter.

Flamestrike wins otherwise unwinnable games all the time. I ran two when I got to legend with it.  How would you beat patron warrior without it?

I have the golden control warrior and i love it

Someone spent a lot of money or did a lot of grinding.  Nice deck.

I voted Control Warrior myself, it is my favorite deck so far.

IMHO Patron Warrior actually takes a lot of skill to play correctly and is way less cancerous than zoo or face hunter. I would just stick with that. Plus I think Patron Warrior is a much stronger deck right now than either of those decks.

It depends on your rank. The meta between ranks changes drastically.  Before making legend I ran into a long line of handlock and druid at rank 1-3 in US.

I just made legend with a similar paladin deck a couple days ago and if I  had lost every Patron Warrior matchup I would have still had a positive winrate.  I actually had a 75% winrate against Patron myself with my deck, but I was running a second equality to make it easier to clear/nullify patrons.

posted a message on "Well played" and 30-0

I have played card games going on 15 years now. It is customary to shake your opponent's hand and tell them "good game" after every match, no matter the outcome. "Well Played" is the closest thing to that that Hearthstone has, so I always emote "Well Played" at the end of every game. If that makes me an asshole, then I guess I am an asshole.

Also, if you think about it, "Well Played" to me just means that both players "Played Well".  Are you saying that someone did not "Play Well" in a game where someone got rushed down?  Who did not "Play Well" in your situation? Was it you, or was it them?

If you want to read into it and think I'm being sarcastic or intentionally being an asshole then that sucks, but it doesn't affect me whatsoever so that's on you. At the end of the day I say "Well Played" when I win, and I say "Well Played" when I lose (even if I lose to some stupid luck/combo garbage), and I sleep just fine at night.  If you want to dwell on the intentions of people's emotes and get salty/tilted then that's your own business, but I can tell you that it's not worth even thinking about.

I've played it a little bit and I think it is pretty fun and worth building. I wouldn't try to top a YCS with it, but with a little luck you can win locals with it, and at the very least you can annoy the hell out of your opponents.

posted a message on Do you use the Legend card back?

I use mine all the time as it can give me a slight psychological advantage. People who feel intimidated tend to make more play mistakes than people who do not, that's undeniable. In a game where your interaction with the opponent is somewhat limited, every little bit counts.

Also, I think it is one of the best looking card backs.

Has anyone tried Yang Zing, I've been interested in getting the deck. Their play style seems interesting to me.

My friend plays yang-zing and he really likes it.  It's a solid deck that can do very well, especially if your opponent doesn't know how to play against it.

But seriously - because even if 1% of the people abuse it (and it would be higher, but let's lead with 1%),

From what I've seen with Yugioh and the dueling network, the percentage would probably be closer to 80%.  With Hearthstone having more rng, people get pretty salty.

I think the option to turn something like that on would be nice, but I also don't think it would fit well with the way the game was designed (visually and functionally). Maybe something they could do in the future, but they have been pretty adamant that they don't want to do that.

The card is not unbalanced and is really only a problem if you are running an agro deck. The game needed to be slowed down, Blizzard found an effective way to do that without a nerf.  Sure, it is an annoying card, but for the mana it is not overpowered imho. If you really done like it then run a control deck, control decks have no problem with it usually.

posted a message on Proof that this is not pay to win game and does not require a big amount of time to get legend rank
    Quote from Kunigunde53 »

you cannot seriously recommend arena in this context. only players with previous experience in other card games and TCGs can quickly get a decent win rate in the arena, for the rest, its a grind, its a good investment because you learn a lot. but it still is a grind for all those that have no previous TCG experience.

about the pay2win thing: of course free to play works really well for players that 1.: started early and 2.: started with previous experience in TCGs or that 3.: research a WHOLE LOT and learn fast.

but for people that are late to the party, and that have no experience with MTG and other trading card games, and that do not have too much free time....   money really makes a difference. when your goal is to get good at arena to beat the game this way and sort-of advance to free2play, buying arena tickets for money is good. and to catch up with the rest of the crowd, buying card packs is good. and above all, buying naxx is the best deal for real money.

by the way, this season it seems like i am stuck at rank 3 again with my zoolock.

Why can't I recommend arena? Last I checked I was saying you can build a good free to play deck in a month, I never said that you can do it while also sucking at the game. I guess I shouldn't recommend doing ranked in f2p either as it takes skill to make it to legend lol. All I was saying in my post was that you COULD, not that you SHOULD.
