Played 11 games today. 6-5. Not great but I had a ton of fun playing it. I like having a lot of choices on what to do on my turn and this deck does that.
Control decks are not the problem. Most of my wins were against warrior. The two times that a deck played Steamcleaner (one warrior and one warlock), I easily beat them. They have to draw ETC, play it, and then play Steamcleaner. Huuuge, tempo swing. The plagues can help win you the game, but mostly seem to enable cheap Chained Guardians.
I played this deck on ranked at platinum. Against a warrior, he played Steamcleaner. It destroyed a lot of my Plagues. But I still had more and with Helya, they kept coming back. I was at full health when he died. Steamcleaner seems to be a huge tempo loss.
The problem with the meta isn't that warlock is unbeatable. The problem is that the only way consistently to beat warlock is to adopt very aggressive strategy that is as fast or faster than the warlock's, such as face hunter does. That means that the meta consists almost entirely of decks that win by turn 5.
When you're playing a game that's decided so quickly, it feels less like you're playing according to a strategy, and more like you're just relying on luck to win, just hoping you draw the right cards before your opponent. Craps is more of a strategy game than Hearthstone right now.
Or adapt and play cards like "Far Watch Post" to slow them down.
Neat idea but I went 1-8 in the legend ranks. I just wanted to pull off some cool card combos but I was usually dead by turn 8. I did seem to get unlucky on my draws though.
I agree, it's not that bad. I spent a few hundred bucks in the beginning when the game first came out but doing my daily quests I've been FTP ever since. I never DE cards unless I have to have the dust and wait for nerfs. I also always DE my gold cards first. When the expansion hits I'll buy around 70-80 packs and then start saving for the next expansion. Right now I have over 10,000 gold.
No, I can't play every single deck but I'm usually able to make 3-4 good decks each expansion with what I get out of packs and carefully crafting key legendaries.
I'll remind you that if you can get to rank Diamond 5 each month, you will get 5 packs of the current set. It's not that hard, especially towards the end of the month. That might sway what you buy. If it were me, I would buy packs from each Standard set until I got the guaranteed legendary in the first 10 packs. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the deck! It was fun. I went 6-4 at rank 6 diamond down to rank 5. Hunter is tough but I did get one win (1-3). I definitely feel like I played pretty good but maybe a tweak or two could have given me one more win.
That depends. I've been playing it the past two weeks and have been doing really good with it. Over 60% win rate at Diamond 5 down to Diamond 3 so far. I'm a casual player, I only play a few games a day but I've been playing since the first year of hearthstone.
If you are a newer player you might not like the deck since you really need to know your matchups and be patient. It's worst matchup is probably hunter and then demon hunter if they have a really good draw. But I've beaten both too. Warlock is pretty easy. Just have to be prepared for their Galacrond and Alex turns.
I think it will definitely be better after the nerfs but it's not definite.
Sooo, it depends on what you like and how much you need to spend to craft it.
I'm not having very good luck with this deck. I'm a long time player and really like highlander decks but I've went 3-5 at rank 10 Diamond. The aggro demon hunter decks just run all over this as well as hunter.
I remember watching a few streamers that used to start a new account and get legend with pretty basic decks. I think one was "Toast". I've hit legend and I always get at least rank 5 easily every month but I don't think I could do it with those decks.
I tried this deck out at rank 5 and went 1-5. I've been playing since the game came out. I play casually but I usually will end up rank 4 in both wild and standard each month. I've also hit legendary before. This deck is interesting but cannot compete at rank 5.

At rank 4, I've pretty easily been beating them with Demon Hunter. An early Far Watch Post really slows them down.

I'm 9-3 in the platinum ranks on the first day of the expansion. Feels like old school warrior. Takes me back a few years.

Congrats! I think it is something to be proud of.
I'm working on it too. I have 6 of 9 with hunter, shaman, and druid left.
