Most Hearthstone players here are Rank 20 quality .
well, it's by choice that i play around those rank in hearthstone, i tried to never get passed rank 15, and i also play wild, the reason is this is the sweet spot for me, for the kind of player i want to play against, you see some really original decks or attemps you won't see pass rank 15, pass this you will play agaisnt the same 5 deck over and over again, and you know those player created those deck based on internet decks, i want to play agaisnt player with imagination and see some weird combo one thought of before
and standard is an aberration for me, why would i throw half of my card collection in the trash, because blizzard said so ;)
I tried Shadowverse, while the game is also interresting, seemed solid, some people find ESL art unexciting, as a 37 male i find shadowverse, animation and art too intense for me, and personnally i hate the japanese style, too sexualized ( japanese style, not the game itself)
so i might miss some great game, because of that reason, i don,t know if you guys know fire emblem, love the mechanics but the art and the childish japanese voice of female character, i cant get over it, its kinda sad, iknow :P
it's about getting used to ESL, the game is a little harder to grasp than HS, sure the mechanics are easy to understand, but to feel and understand the games's vibe, you need to play at least a month, it's a deeper experience, ill give you and example
lets say i have 2 creature in a lane a 2/2 and a 6/1 and your opponent has 8 life (and you have 1 life), in HS it doesnt matter how you attack, in ESL you should attack with the 2/2 first, then attack with the 6/1, .... if you attack with the 6/1 first, you can lose the game (rune mechanic), that is what i call strategic deepness
sometimes my opponent is at 21 life, and i can still attack with a 1/1...but i wont, because sometimes it's not worth popping a rune..
in HS a 4/1 for (2) creature is stupid, in ESL a 4/1 is not bad at all in the shadow lane
some random example why ESL is a good game and should be tried at least
and BTW when you play rank in ESL, you get a season exclusive card (usually epic) for your rank...rank 9= 1 copy, rank 5= 2 copies, rank 2= 3 copies... if you missed it, it's craftable
of course i still play hearthstone, but i feel like playing agaisnt the same deck all the time , as a theorycrafter, i prefer ESL
it's easier to get than a timewalk, in the sense that you get mana each and every turn and HS's time warp goes automatically in your hand, every game, mostly
Try to play an MTG's Time Warp at turn 5
I compared it to Timewalk because it was the first one in magic, as this one is the first one in HS, i prefer Time Stretch :P
i think "then" is not an official keyword, but it should be
and i don't like the fact that they write battlecries, since the keyword is battlecry
but the truth is, i think they write the text to use less possible words with most meaning...anyway, i was shocked first time i use Djinni of Zephyrs with Entomb..... and then see my Djinn go into my deck...whaaaat ??
heartpwn: actually no, they have been far sunnier days in the past, check your facts !!!!!!!!!!! you should know about the weather,s history before commenting factual incorrect statement !!
Because one happens before the other one, but anyway, the text box is an approximation of what the programmed string really says, hearthstone's text box are not absolute like MTG, in HS the real string dominate over the textbox, in MTG the text box dominate over rules, so sometimes in HS you get weird interaction

"Your Battlecry abilities trigger a second time"
that's how i would describe it

Can be played by turn 4 with The Coin , i know it's obvious, but that makes any coin a lot better
