Quote from Blue_Banana_whotookthisname >>Sure, it could be run as well, but would maybe work better in a more minion based deck (it has spell synergy but 5/5 body does nothing if one of your win conditions isn't eventually board control), so I'd use Water Ele with it. Remember that there are some packages that go well together, eg MC Tech isn't good enough to be run without Dirty Rat, and Antonidas and Cabalist's Tome work best if you also have Thaurissan.I'd add at least Mistress of Mixtures and Ethereal Conjurer to the list of potential cards. Explosive Sheep is worth considering as well.where to find these kind of information?this is superb

Blue_Banana_whotookthisname posted a message on Which renomage listPosted in: MageHeyy, a quote pyramide :D I love these things. Occasionally. Anyways, the information can be either read or learned.For learning there are two ways. Either by experience, which means simply playing the game, and in the case of deck building, building them. I personally have hardly ever net decked, and in the few cases where I have, I haven't copied the net decks but instead only adapted the main idea and heavily edited the deck. The result of this is above :) (the creepy random smiley does *not* implicate that the former sentence would refer to the dead deck builder hanging in the roof above me, rather than my deck building knowledge).The other way to learn is to have a mind capable of theoretical, analytical and logical thinking, and then only thinking about the subject slowly gives you a good understanding of it with practically no real experience. Actively using forums and discussing can help with this.For reading there's a problem: as a game grows and its user base grows as well and becomes organized, the culture of making different kinds of guides kind of dies off. There are some guides for basic information, as well as a wiki, but for more advanced information your best shot is to roam forums and hope you come across an intelligent post/comment/person. So, not only does the game have a considerable amount of RNG, so does trying to read the whining threads about it. Oh, the irony. -

Istandinfiretoday posted a message on Blizzbot #1000 tips on card collection (without complicated statistic formulas)Posted in: General DiscussionSo I have recently joined the Hearthpwn community but I have played since March of 2014. I have a complete collection and have dropped around $1000 on the game. I am not an infinite arena player and that would take too much time anyways. I have outlined some tips on how to collect/craft for below.
Rule #1 open until you are done buying!!!!
Lets look at the breakdown of card rarity of MSoG
49 Commons, 36 Rares, 27 Epics, 20 Legendaries
That is 132 cards but if you want a real complete collection you will need more, 112 more cards for a total of 244 cards. To craft all of these with dust would require the following
49x2x40 =3,920 dust for Commons
36x2x100=7,200 dust for Rares
27x2x400=21,600 dust for Epics
20x1x1,600=32,000 dust for Legendaries
At total of 64,720 dust to craft every card including the dupes for MSoG. That comes out to roughly 648 packs worth of dust. That alone would cost you nearly $700.
Now crafting cards is not efficient in fact opening packs is a much more efficient way to get your collection.
Blizzard plans to release two expansions a year or roughly one every six months, between WOTG and MSoG this was actually 7 months. At six month intervals that gives you 180ish days to stock pile gold assuming you don't spend gold on adventures and instead buy them with cash (the most efficient use of your money and a once a year purchase).
At 180 days of questing a player should earn between 9,000g (50g a day) and 10,800 (60g a day) by just doing quests. This is probably a lowerbound figure as 3 wins equals 10g and most players will probably earn an average of 70g to 100g a week off this alone.
Let us go with with 10,000 gold stock piled between expansions. That translates to 100 packs. What will 100 packs get you?
The Breakdown is as follows
1.2 Rares per pack, 0.2 Epics per pack, 0.05 Legendaries per pack
500 cards for 100 packs of which we can expect
355 will be Commons, 120 will be Rares, 20 will be Epics, 5 will be Legendaries.
With 355 Commons being opened and you needing 49x2 for a total 98 it is very likely that you will have gotten exactly two of each leaving you with that portion of collection complete and with dupes worth 257x5=1,285 dust for crafting. With 120 Rares it is likely that you will have gotten 55 to 60 of the 72 cards you needed. This means that you will have between 65x20=1,300 dust (the worse case scenario of the two as you would have spend 1,700 dust to complete your rare collection) and 60x20=1,200 dust (the better scenario as you would just need 1,200 dust to craft the 12 remaining rares you need).
Now lets look at how your Epic pulls probably went. With 20 expected to be pulled and 54 needed it is highly likely that between 15 and 18 are cards you needed (not dupes beyond x2). That means that you will have between 5x100=500 dust (which translates to you needing 39x400=15,600 dust to complete your Epic collection) or 2x100=200 dust (Which translates to you needing 36x400=14,400 dust to complete your Epic collection).
For legendaries it is likely that of the 5 you pulled none are duplicates but even if we assume a single duplicate you need to craft 16x1,600=19,600 dust worth and have 400 dust from the duplicate.
So as a free to play player with your first 100 packs you are very likely to have opened 173/244 cards and have 3,485/36,900 dust needed to craft the rest. With the 26 Tavern Brawl Packs and the 50ish dust from chests each month that puts you at 2,900 dust closer to what you need. Now at this point if you want to really get a complete set you would be best off buying 100 to 150 packs as between opening/dusting you will be able complete your collection.
Bottom line, casual free to play players can very easily collect 70% of the total cards of an expansion by doing just daily quests, weekly tavern brawls, and monthly chests from ladder. They will also have sufficient dust to craft 3 legendaries and 3 Epics or 15 epics and 3 Rares, or 17 rares, 2 legendaries, and 3 epics or 17 rares, and 11 epics . That could put their collection count to as high as 82% for the expansion and really it would not be unusual for a free to play player to have 90 to 92% of the cards of a set (based on the 2x inclusion of non legendaries) based on the above effort.
At some point down the line I will create a more detailed guide with statistical calculations included and observations regarding play ability of legendaries but for now this my contribution.

I want to break the ladders
We'll definitely upload as many of the interesting decks coming out of the tournament as we can! Until then, a bit of patience is required :) Players did not have to make their decks public for this tournament. -

Zeffix posted a message on Savjz and the Reno Dream - Rank 1 Legend Kabal DecksPosted in: NewsTo be honest, I think Kazakus is a very fun card to play. There might be some legendaries that are more important to craft (cards like Ragnaros or Sylvanas or even Patches the Pirate), but if you've got the staples, I would definitely recommend crafting him.

mantose262 posted a message on Savjz and the Reno Dream - Rank 1 Legend Kabal DecksPosted in: NewsI have been wondering that for myself but I think I have decided not too since I only play the standard format. The card will be out of the standard rotation, in about 15 months (I think) and I am pretty sure reno jackson is leaving the standard rotation in about 3 months. With reno jackson leaving it makes me wonder if these decks will survive... maybe they will have a great reno replacement in the next expansion... dunno

also most of the times when you drop the 10/10 your opponent just concedes because this deck keeps vomiting huge minions on the board.

there is no high skill players.
Just lucky players

BRM of course.
You can still play Wild whenever you want to.
Tavern brawls sometimes need BRM cards.
You can still play BRM in standard until BRM goes to WILD, which can be another 4-5 months away
