posted a message on help to build a not so expensive paladin deck

Token paladin (cards that buff hero power minions) should work pretty okay, or an aggro paladin build with divine shield... but running either divine favor and cult master.

Won't be up to par with the top decks, but it'll be alright.

You can forget control builds, those are very expensive for paladins and they contain many cards which can't be replaced.

    Just play jade druid?

It has now lost all its counters, and you don't need innervate to crush priests to pulp.

posted a message on The Basic/Classic Card Nerf Hammer Thread!

Screw nerfs, just rotate the entire core set.

That's what the standard format needs and it is what the wild format needs.

Appreciate the sarcasm and you raise a very good point, a ton of cards are staple.

Seems horrible. 4 health on T4 is reaaaally bad, and it requires card synergies on 6... hunter rarely has many cards on 6.

posted a message on Do you think Blizzard should refund dust for ALL murlocs?
    Quote from derekmshaw >>

No, I don't think so. I think murloc builds will still survive in certain classes (Paladin and Shaman). Paladin has buffs and divine shields to protect them, and Shaman has the quest, some resurrect and some healing

Plus, people seem to forget about Coldlight Seer (which gives +2 health to all other Murlocs). Warleader just won't be a turn 3 play anymore. Coldlight Seer on turn 3 and Warleader on turn 4 or Turn 5 with Rockpool Tidehunter to buff him up to a 4/4.

He's had his day in the sun and I'm sure they will now release other Murloc support that will buff. The fact that at least 5 classes could use them to beat the Lich King means they were completely overpowered.

Seriously, all the other cards are still playable, and there are loads of other cards that are just as bad as some of the murlocs. No need to be greedy about the dust (plus most of them are common and rare so you wouldn't get a ton anyway)

     Er, no. They're dead.
They pushed murlocs for 3 expansions in a row and when they finally just gave up and made it god-tier, they pulled the rug.

We'll get new curvestone pally cards the next expansion, which they'll push for the year - so no worries.

6 damage for 3 mana. That's quite enough.

FWA was an overpowered card which warrior was too reliant upon.  The nerf will sting, but you'll adapt.

Yeah, I for one am truly looking forward to whatever new "vomit on curve deck" they'll make the next expansion now that they can make without being god-tier.

Of course, they could just not make vomit decks... but I realize that this is a very drastic design shift.

posted a message on Any strat, counter to Big Priest?

There are counters, but no strategies.

Not even joking. You run a deck that can curve out and hope they don't god-Barnes you - or you play jade and hope they don't God-Barnes you. Either way you should be a favorite overall, but strategy? That is largely irrelevant.

At least the nerfed fiery war axe has better synergy with Forge of Souls (without floating mana). Always look on the bright side...

Yay, I can fit even more two card combos into my warrior deck.
Now I have an armorsmith left for threat, but that's ok. Bring it on will buy me atleast .12% more turns on average.

Of course they had to nerf it. Every time they tried to make warrior a curvestone class it got too good (pirate, dragon). Now they can make rage warrior the next expansion. Weeeh.

Of course the answer could have been NOT to make it a curvestone class, since we got curvestone up the wazoo. But hey, who cares about that.

posted a message on What Are The Most Difficult Competitive Decks?
    Quote from Zukuu >>

Control Paladin, Control Warrior, Control Warlock, Mill Rogue, not that they are that much harder to play tho. HS is a baby game when it comes to "skill ceiling". Like between the average player and the world champion is almost no difference and the former can beat the latter somewhat often. Try that in Lol, CS, Dota 2, Starcraft or any other truly competitive game.

And don't let people deceive you, Freeze / Quest mage is NOT skill-intensive.

Heh, I've played all of those first three enough to say that freeze mage is way more skill intensive than any of them.
Which is also supported by data, freeze mage has consistently been the deck with the highest difference in winrate between the outliers.
You're just another whiner who in lack of good argument throws in what you're hoping is taken to be an insult.

posted a message on What decks will rise up after these balance changes?
    Quote from KooKie >>

Standard priest and standard druid will rule in both standard and wild.

The game has enterred the worst stage ever. I played 20 wild games last night and in 15 of them they were priests and druids with no wild cards whatsoever.

This is just wrong. People are just braindeads...

Yeah, they pretty much just wrecked the game by now.
Many good ideas in a vacuum, but they've introduced to many cheese mechanics while never introducing counterplay or viable control tools to keep them in check. Basically we're stuck between curvestone and cheesestone.

I reckon jade druid is going to be a helluva lot better.

Meta slowing down, priest rising up... it's going to wreck harder than it does now.

Loses those twisted innervate turns, but meta is going to slow down. Will probably end up better.

posted a message on How Do You Deal With Stress Playing on Ranked Mode?

It's not actually anxiety, but a stress (as you correctly named it yourself) reaction called fight / flight. It's completely normal and almost all people have them, as you grow accustomed to the situation you will merely have the reaction before and not during, something we see in veteran skiers versus new skiers for example.

A good tip  is to play more, focus on one deck instead of switching it up all the time. Learning a situation reduces negative stress reactions and gives us positive ones instead.

A simple technique you can use to focus is to count backwards from a hundred in increments of 3 (100, 97, 94 etc) and breathe calmly.
