What the hell were they thinking printing Winged Guardian? And as a two-of! In a class they just gave a 0-cost deck buff?? Even if you can silence it (which requires Mass Dispel, Owl/Spellbreaker or a lucky Tinkmaster Overspark), it’s still a big body you need to deal with. And then you still have to deal with two 7/6 or 9/8 Elusive Feywings, etc. Really unfun deck and it’s everywhere right now.
I agree with all of the above. Of course you can also cheat a buffed copy into play for 1 mana via stength in numbers. Tilting!!
I swear that about 70 percent of my matches on rank 4 are embiggen druid. I'm getting so sick of my opponents dumping 13 mana worh of stats onto the board on turn 5. The side quest is busted. Cheating any minion from your deck into play for 1 mana is insane. All for the generic cost of paying mana to play minions.
I have given up on ranked for this month. I have taken 2 decks from rank 5 to rank 1, only to hit a massive losing streak taking me back several ranks. I can't stomach it anymore
Same. I've made to Rank 2 just to get pushed back all the way to 5 (including a 11 game losing streak)
Motivation hit rock bottom, playing all day and still not reaching L isn't worth the time nor Energy.
Blizzard's public definition of "Variance": Due to the nature of random encounters you will sometimes face certain decks in clusters at times, which can sometimes feel like you're having a bad luck streak when you face a deck that counters you several times in a row. However, over time, you will see that you play the entire range of the meta as it exists! Just give it time! Play more games!
Actual definition of "Variance": No matter what deck you play, and no matter how many games you play, Blizzard's deck analyzer (the very same one that helps you complete your deck optimally) will ensure you face hard counters 50% of the time and "normal" matches the other 50% of the time. If the deck analyzer can't figure out direct counters to your deck because your deck has limited meta data, you may have "win-streaks" for considerable lengths of time due to the system not knowing what your counters are. Play long enough and lose a few times to one particular archetype and you will start seeing it over and over and over again until it balances out at 50%, resulting in MASSIVE losing streaks of 20+ games straight.
Source: Thousands of games of Hearthstone analyzed by deck tracker in the last 2 years.
Solution: Log off and play a different game that isn't engineered simply to keep you playing as long as possible. Sure, if you play 500 games a month, you can be Legend too!
Excellent Analysis, always felt like Matchmaker in Ranked is Scripted.
That's how I feel. My last run I easily climbed from rank 5 to 1. Then I just keep losing and losing. It was unreal to see me almost unable to win a game in ranks I had just breezed through

I wish I could help, but I've been feeling the same way lately. Games feel like a giant coin flip. The opponent seems to run a deck that completely answers everything I can do or they have no answers and I steamroll them. gain a star, lose a star. Win 3 in a row, loss 3 in a row..
I addition I'm tried of playing against zoo. The power level is off the charts and many games seem unwinnable. Zoo seems to be about 40% of the matches on ladder.

Leeroy seens like a prime candidate. In every meta it goes into virtually every deck that has an aggresive slant.

Just another fair and balanced game against Mage. It was my fault though really. I couldn't deal with the 8/8 mountain Giant on turn 4....

It's approximately 1 in every 240 packs.

Well... 7 straight wins followed by 7 straight losses. This shit happens to me constantly when I play the ladder.

Wow.. the first game I had no idea what was going on and I killed my opponent. That explains the rain of Salt upon me!!!
