For Blizzard to nerf a card, it usually has to meet 1 or 2 of the following requirements:
1. It enables or helps enable a class or a certain deck archetype to dominate the meta by a significant margin (ex. Undertaker).
2. It enables or helps enable some form of excessive burst damage with little to no correlated interactions between the two players (ex. Leeroy Jenkins).
3. It outclasses any cards in the latest expan$ion set.
I don't think Grim Patron has quite met the first requirement yet (or the third), but I'm sure this will change when more and more people are getting acquainted with playing the Patron deck, eventually pervading the meta in a substantial amount.
OP, my sentiment exactly ever since I started playing on F2P accounts.
It is not about veterans like some of us coming up with a decent deck and casually climbing the ladder with all the experience and knowledge behind them. It is about new players coming into a competitive environment that is so hostile it seems every game for them will inevitably end in a humiliated defeat. It is about how new players could get discouraged and pass up on what would become a fantastic card game experience.
Sure, you can tell the them to learn and study the game properly, and it's all up to them to learn the ropes and nobody should hold their hand. But it is also true that our player base has matured to the point where new players will find the game harder to enjoy when it seems hopeless to compete with a better, more experienced and ever growing player base.
I don't think telling them to smarten up and ignoring the actual issue they are facing will help, but I'm not blaming anyone here. It is just what it is.
Just lost to an Ebola paladin on turn 3.. TURN FUCKING 3.
there is so much wrong with this game right now
If it makes you feel any better, I just rekt an Eboladin with a Handlock. My Earthen Ring Farseer, 2 x Antique Healbot, and Lord Jaraxxus totally saved my ass there. He was 1 off and then 2 off from killing me. He rage quit after I taunted up some fatties.
WTF is wrong with you Battlenet Matchmaking? WTF is wrong with you Battlenet Matchmaking? WTF is wrong with you Battlenet Matchmaking?
Doing casual with Oil Rogue and in 13 games, I ran into:
4 Handlocks, 3 Face Hunters, 1 Freeze Mage, 1 Control Warrior - pretty much all Hard/Tough counters to my deck. Then there is the Druid with the discounted Double Roar in hand by turn 10, the Combo Priest that has every removal/AoE in the world and a Loatheb.
I swear doing quests on casual is like 100x harder than laddering.
EDIT: As soon I switched to Control Warrior, I met a Shaman (after like 45 seconds of queuing). Thank you, Blizzard.
Playing my F2P mage against a Mech Mage on casual for the dailies. It was a close game but his minions had an absolute edge in value, and ultimately decided the game.
I was down to 1 health and about to face the inevitable. But before I could utter "Well Played," my opponent who had been silent all game taunted "My magic will tear you apart!"
What the fuck are you? A six-year old? He got the rope while I went for a break in the kitchen.
No, for that, I don't think I'm any better than a six-year old.
The damage calculation can be complicated when Frothing Berserkers are involved, simply because the order of plays determines how much +attack the Frothing Berserkers would receive, and you need to run over every possible scenario in your head while summing up the total damage your board + weapon could dish out in every situation WITHOUT ERROR, then you need to execute what you think are the most optimal plays before the rope is totally burned out.
Beside all that, there are considerations of mana cost, of every state of the board after an AoE, of other minion interactions (say an enemy Deathlord summoning a minion of yours)...etc.

I can confirm that the method works painlessly.
You could still buy 5000 Coins at $45 with the 3 x $15 gift card.

Pre-nerf Undertaker Hunter, hands down. So ridiculous that I had to take screenshot of this...

Best Priest Card since the Big Bang.

Any hero replacement will reset the armor to 0.

I think cards like Crazed Alchemist, Inner Fire can do the same job without messing up the board.

I believe the 1-mana minions do not have the deathrattle buff. Only minions that cost 2 or above could spawn smaller ones.

I got a golden Wisp the other day. FeelsGoodman
Now, I hope they will make a 0-mana, 0-1 minion with Stealth.
