posted a message on What do you say to the new Core Set card balance/design?

Witchwood apple currently costs 2, not 3. They reduced it's cost by one, and the cost of the treants by 1 to make it into landscaping with small upside. I'll probably include it in my odd treat druid now.

Druid doesn't want this because it's worse than a dead card after Guff, because it destroys potentially 9 mana and sets the cap to 11.

Do we know if overheal triggers if the minion started at full health? If it requires them the start damaged, it can be played around by only damaging minions when ready to kill them, so that seems pretty mediocre.

posted a message on Patch Notes 25.0.2 - Demon Hunter Scythe Fix - Renathal Banned in Duels - BG Balance Changes & More

Start of game ordering needs to be clarified. If Scythe simply went before minions, and stopped their start of games, that would be fine, or it if just went after them, but it stops Renathal, but not new C'thun. It's just inconsistent, and impossible to tell if it's intended within the game.

posted a message on Strange Baku/Genn vibes applied to Renathal...

    Different people enjoy different things.

Personally, my favorite meta was the witchwood - boomsday meta, partially because Baku and Genn were and still are my favorite cards, and partially because it had some of the most meta variety I've ever seen in an HS meta. You could make almost anything viable as long as you worked on it. (And for people who say that odd or even decks were dominant, while they were strong, they were not the only thing you had the ability to play. I made good winrates with taunt rez druid, or even a few quest decks). Part of the reason that variety worked was because you might encounter any type of deck, so you couldn't just "solve" the meta.

If you don't like Renathal, at least let it stick out the time it would normally be in standard, instead of trying to get this fun thrown away as well at the first opportunity. It's slowed down the meta a good bit and made the game more enjoyable.

posted a message on New Neutral Epic Card Revealed - Amalgam Of The Deep

It's good because it's not random. You choose it from what you control. So in a murloc deck, it's 2 mana 2/3 murloc discover a murloc. In a pirate deck, 2 mana 2/3 pirate discover a pirate, dragons etc.

posted a message on Fractured in Alterac Valley Mini Set: Onyxia's Lair - Launches February 15th - All Cards Revealed!

It might be good, sure, but as far as current card draw, I prefer multicaster with a secret package (which gives frost and fire) and the 1 cost deal 2 which is arcane. Also, secret package let's you run the objective for draw as well.

    You might run both though.

I think it might also be worth it to try frost warrior. It got a lot of spells, and some of the neutral support is just really good.

Seems like an interesting build around. Much worse than curator though, because you have to have played the cards instead of just having them in your deck, and you need enough cards left in your deck after playing the spells, that you aren't overdrawing. Quest mage might use it. It's got ignite and stuff.

Actually, I don't know if quest has any interest in this. Yes, it benefits from spell damage, but it's also fairly expensive until you get flows on it, not to mention it can't go face after completing quest. I think it's a maybe. I almost think if fits better in non quest spell damage mage, because it isn't as focused on pure face damage once it gets spell damage.

posted a message on Murloc Madness: The Finals

I really don't understand how Rag is winning. It's a good card, sure, but the effect is so utterly boring and bland in general. There are non-legendary minions with very similar effects. Reno had a very unique effect for his time though, and created a huge number of archetypes.

    Druid

I really dislike this one. To complete it quickly you need a lot of cards in your decks you would not want otherwise with any current decktype. And the rewards don't seem very exciting. The final reward is just a one time thing compared to the other often gamechanging ones.

    Rogue

Not a big rogue player but this seems pretty underwhelming. Possibly even weaker than druid. But then again.. rogue has the tendency to create surprisingly strong decks out of mediocre looking cards so .. who knows.

The thing you forget is that both of these classes have ways to return or copy the minion, so a more powerful one time effect might even be better. Honestly, mark of the spineshell makes gruff so much better, as you can play him three times over a game, which is a lot of direct damage attack.

For rogue, if they want to, they have all sorts of bounce they could use on their reward. Is it worth it? Maybe, maybe not. But it's a lot faster to get value out of it.

posted a message on Based on wording, does Ignite work with spell damage?
    Quote from Rino >>

    Its just 1 more damage

Yes, but is it one more than the spell ended up doing, or one more than was printed on that copy of the card?
