posted a message on New Mage Card Reveal - Vex Crow

The comment section is like: AHHHH, THE END IS NEAR, WE WILL DIE! Because Doomsayer is the only fcking two drop in the game.

The card is trash btw. 4 mana 3/3 that does nothing on its own, are you kidding me? You can't play it on turn 4, it'll get killed for sure, and later in the game the effect is weak. Even if your plan is to save the raven for later turns to flood the board with 2-cost garbage, where will you get so many low-cost spells? The mage just doesn't have them! All low-cost spells will have surely been cast by the point this card hits the board. Crowd hype stops brains from working for too many people.

posted a message on New Rogue Card Reveal - WANTED!

Inadequate loss of tempo in order to get a coin on such a heavy condition? I do love coins in rogue but surely not at the cost of winning.

And why the fudge is this spell epic?!

Though playing the weapon itself is a loss of tempo, it can be quickly regained by utilizing is effect which is very powerful. Too powerful for Constructed but on the necessary power level for Arena specific cards. Since I had the idea that only one Arena specific card can be available for a class, I didn't design this weapon around Crackling Doom , which provides too much of a sinergy, but with other Overload cards it's all right. Let's say, on turn 4 you play Crescent Spirit Blade and on turn 5 you play Earth Elemental . Then you attack, unlock your crystals and draw three cards. I'd say it's preeeety good.

posted a message on Ice Block Moving To Hall Of Fame

I love how the comment section is full of resentful whining people. Everyone's decided it's his sacred duty to complain about Ice Block without trying to evaluate things properly.

First of all, Ice Block has always been essential for almost all control and combo Mage decks. It is a unique tool that allows mage to build decks which would otherwise be impossible without it. Losing it limits deck design space for mages immensly. It literally means now mages have to play only those decks which don't need to rely on Ice Block and these are aggro/face/burn cancer. This transfer to HoF basically pushes mages in this direction.

Secondly, think about the fact that now after the second HoF robbery mages have 2(!!!) cards less in their card pool than other classes (excluding rogue and warlock). And these are not just two random cards nobody cares about, these are very important cards. Ok, I partially agree that Ice Lance was in almost 100% cases used as a face tool for freeze and face mages, but taking an evergreen card out of a class implies you give something in return for this loss. But no, nothing was given to mage, and now the loss of Ice Block limits the options even further. For those who say it doesn't matter if a card is transferred to HoF because the overall quantity of that class's playable cards is the same or still even more than some other classes, you're wrong. It doesn't matter how many cards are playable, losing even one of them limits that class's options compairing to other classes. And the other thing you should remember about is that classic cards are available in standard forever which means eventually even the worst cards can find a place in some decks when the time is right. We had an enormous amount of proofs for that.

And the last, but certainly not the least - Ice Block is a very high skill card to play against. It forces an opponent to use his brain which is phenomenal for Hearthstone nowadays. Playing around it, pushing mage's health to 1 point before popping it, doing the counts of your minions' attack values, playing a Leper Gnome-like minion into a Doomsayer, trying to kill the mage by fatigue bypassing Ice Block or simply teching in an Eater of Secrets depending on your understanding of the meta - all these things make you think about your ingame decisions. I bet a good half of those who complain about Ice Block just don't like to use their brain to play around it.

I do agree on one point though, such a card as Ice Block can limit design space, but that is true for many other cards in other classes which are considered as must have and being played in every deck. I strongly believe that the absence of Ice Block will very negatively impact the meta in the near future. People will have to play burn decks and nothing is worse than this. And some cool possibilities for new deck ideas will be impossible to implement.

I don't harbour any illusions that team 5 may change their mind about HoF but I do think they have to introduce the same amout of new cards for those classes to compensate for this loss - at least for standard (otherwise in wild those classes would actually have more cards than other ones).

posted a message on Patches the Pirate Loses Charge - Four Card Nerfs Coming in February

Arrogant and despicable Blizzard. When MSoG was released, the ladder was filled with pirate warriors in just A FEW HOURS after the expansion launch. As time passed, more and more classes added Patches to their decks and started playing the pirate package. And now, two months before the next Standard rotation, A YEAR AND A HALF after MSoG launch they finally nerf Patches?! I legitimately hate Blizzard now. We were suffering the onslaught of this abomination for more than a year, and now they nerf him right before he goes to Wild. It's like a spit in the face, a mockery aimed at showing Blizzard's player base how they despise us. And along with Patches, they nerf Raza, again, right before the Standard rotation, even though it was crystal clear that Raza+Reaper combo is busted in two weeks after KotFT launch. Though I admit Bonemare and Creeper nerfs are totally admirable and necessary, these two nerfs to MSoG legendaries are just a taunt to all of us. I'm honestly surprised I don't see Jade Idol nerf in this list, it would fit in this theme perfectly.

They've waited up to the very last moment so that more players spent their money on packs to craft these overpowered cards and now they nerf them to look better in the eyes of Hearthstone community.

    F*** you Blizzard.
