I think I prefer the first card since I always favor simplicity. The second card has an effect I've played with in earlier card design competitions where you trigger an effect by keeping a card in your hand for a set number of turns. I like the idea of using that is a trigger but haven't quite found a card yet to use that trigger well.
Gnomish Explorer is for sure the better of the two. It has good art and flavor, and the ability is interesting. It needs a period at the end though, and should probably say "Whenever". For Eccentric Archivist, the trigger seems like it would be a pain to keep track of. I don't want to have to memorize how long I've held each of my 4 or so cards while I try to play the game. You may be able to incorporate it into the UI, but I'm not sure how. 2 also seems like too much of a reduction for premium stats, even with the condition.
I think I am closing in on the final design of my card. Is this art and wording acceptable?
Its really hard to get the wording on this card right. If I literally add anymore letters after this, the text gets even smaller and I personally feel I can't present that. This was the best I could pull of with minimum wording in mind.
As for the art, I had to photoshop it and I hope that is not too obvious. I was looking for art of an upbeat wandering priest, but all the good priest art has them wearing a stoic face, or has them demonstrating absurd holly powers. I just want a friendly dude going door to door trying to convert people.
I think the art is fine (I couldn't see that it was photoshopped until you mentioned it), and the wording gets the idea across. I think 1 more Health wouldn't hurt, though. Chances are you'll never even get the card that was reduced, and even if you do the reduction might not even be useful based on what card they chose.
@Demonxz95: 4 mana may be too much. It's more or less consistent with Twilight Darkmender/Greater Healing Potion, but the sheer efficiency of Mage spells may put it over the edge. I guess I'm just afraid of free Fireballs.
@AngryChicken: Druid, especially Beast Druid, is lacking in good 4-drops, so it's good to see a card that fills that need. I think it's a pretty good design. As for Portal Malfunction, I feel like it would fit better in Shaman since it already has Ancestral Spirit and Spirit Echo.
Given the inspiration for this week's competition, I thought an Enrage enabler would be appropriate. It could also make Blood Warriors/Sudden Genesis useable.

plopping down my ideas. Thoughts welcome/happy to return feedback! :D
Hoping it's clear, but if not: Tome of Secrets is like Shifter Zerus, but if you play it on the turn you draw it you shuffle 3 copies of it into your deck a la Jade Idol.
My favorite is the Murloc, though it should maybe cost 4 to fit better into the Murloc curve. Tome of Secrets is an interesting idea, though the shuffle thing feels a little clunky, and as for Common Beggar, I don't really get the flavor.

Here's my idea. I think it's balanced, but someone might see something I missed (of course, non-balance-related thoughts are also appreciated).

Can we make it 28? I'd like to join as well.
