I still don't understand why wouldn't they move the old Whizbang to Standard instead of printing the exact same card. Packs got to be sold i guess.

mulluk posted a message on New Neutral Legendary Card Revealed - Splendiferous WhizbangPosted in: NewsSo its true. The player base is declining and they force everyone to play against total beginners who get a top deck. Bots galore! Yay!

It's one of the lowest winrate decks in the meta, peaking at about a 40% win rate and often closer to 36%. I doubt these minor tweaks will drastically improve its performance.

lv426a11 posted a message on 28.2.3 Patch Notes - Balance Changes in Constructed and BG - Tae'thelan Unbanned in BGPosted in: NewsPersonally I think one of the problem cards is still Order in the Court. It just gives far too much consistency and removes the natural variance that should be inherent in a card game, paticularly with a high impact card like The Countess. Imo it should be a higher mana cost so that a larger number of turns are spent with the natural variance of the draw and there's a significant tempo loss associated with re-ordering your deck.
The other issue is The Garden's Grace (often) being zero mana and the combination with Keeper's Strength - either to buff the minion doing the damage or to prevent another one from the "symmetrical" damage. You basically can't let them keep a minion no the board.
Finally Horn of the Windlord shouldn't be able to go face imo. It's a very powerful removal tool (6 mana - remove 4 minions is excellent) and it can also be used for burst when combo'd.
I'm not suggesting all these changes, but I think what they've done probably wont be enough (though it obviously will impact the win rate slightly).

Dunscot posted a message on Introducing Catch-Up Packs!Posted in: NewsInteresting seeing how your brain works... no wait, appalling was the word I was looking for.
A catch-up mechanic is obviously more beneficial for people who have fewer cards. That's what it is designed for. The name gives it away, sort of. A good catch-up mechanic (and I'm not even sure it fits that) is kind of essential if you want to get/keep more people in the game that is 10 years running on microtransactions. And it is one of very few mechanics they ever bothered introducing for this purpose.
Those packs are primarily obtained through payment, so it's not even free, aside from like 2 or 3 packs everyone gets through some event apparently, and maybe some that new players receive from ranking up. Whatever. Go make a new account if you think you are not getting all the goods here. Have fun getting rekt on ladder.
On the other side of the table, the value for paying players has been increased steadily over the years. The bundles contain more packs, more cosmetics, free (signature) legendaries, just more and more loaded on the thing every year. The included Tavern Pass itself boosts all the experience/gold you make from playing, on top of other things, and the shop is overflowing with bundles and special deals every couple weeks or so. Just about none of these things can even be purchased with Gold if you wanted to. Feel free to complain if you feel like you are not getting your money's worth. But there is no debating that the game targets big spenders heavily, and that they certainly benefit WAY more than those who spend little or nothing. It's not even remotely close.
And at the sight of something so insignificant where big spenders get slightly less out something than those who are supposed to pick up the game again or for the first time, you bring up welfare systems? You are so allergic to the thought of more people playing and enjoying the game that you are gonna protest about this? You are missing out on... I dunno, a couple thousand dust maybe, when a single mega bundle gives you 10 times the advantage. And now you wanna bring in politics?
The only thing "political" here is your mindset, if you are so desperate to shoehorn this debate. What are you smoking?!!

Dunscot posted a message on New Ranked Season - November 2023 & Card Back - New Twist Too!Posted in: NewsNothing to report from Season rewards (yet) since you already got Badlands packs. Which I am actually happy about.
By the way: Anyone actually excited about the new Twist season?
I can't adequately express how utterly disappointed I am about how Twist was ruined right from the start. Such a simple, promising idea that would need so little maintenance and effort to deliver a good experience and a welcome alternative to Standard and Wild, and it was instantly and lastingly turned into a worse Duels. Instead of an ever-changing format with different set combinations and a new ruleset to create new deckbuilding incentives, a completely new meta every month, it so far has been nothing but the old (wild) meta reheated with a bunch of brand new cards thrown in for monetization. And all that changes is the chronologically next set to be added. Unbelievable! What a waste!
So, is it at least fun to play? Will Un'goro add something you wanted to see?

Aman'thul is just 1 mana more. You can choose remove 2 minions with Strike from History and have 3/10 stats in 1st turn. Khazgoroth using tempering kill 1 random minion and have 9/4 stats. if u want try to survive a second turn, use heart of flame to 4/9 stats (same to Aman'thul) and to gain incredible 5 armor...
Edit: my mistake, he gain +5attack AND the hero too. More playable, but still the diference to Aman'thul should be 2 manas, imo.

Nice work. Some people think that is just to raise the prices to get more profit... ir some product is cheap (to who?) without compare the local wages.

90 packs and just 3 legends (pack 9, 39 and 79)...

Add in Nozdormu text: when this card started in your deck, gain +5% XP boost.
