Tarious posted a message on New Card Revealed - Plague of MurlocsPosted in: NewsThere goes my hopes for tier 1 Lucentbark deck next meta.
Gonna be a must have card for shaman. 3 mana that stops all mechs (paladin, hunter, warrior) and stops kangor's EE, Stops all combos (Lucentbark, mountain giant spam) and will pollute the rez pool for priest if Rez wasn't going to suck next expansion.

mike_kr posted a message on Dust Refund for Card Art ChangesPosted in: General DiscussionI dont understand the hate here. I have several cards which i crafted (even golden) purely for their art. If Blizzard suddenly changed their art to something I would not like anymore I would also want the refund. This is not the case fortunately.

Noiser posted a message on Card Text Inconsistencies and How They'd Look Without Them.Posted in: General DiscussionQuote from GentilleMouche >>I thought I read somewhere that the reasoning for Witch's Brew was because new players wouldn't be familiar with the keyword. But it's backwards logic because there are still plenty of Echo cards in standard and a new player would look at the inconsistency and just get more confused. All these changes presented for these cards are accurate and should be implemented.
Just because Blizzard are 'inconsistent', that doesn't mean the best approach is paint every card with the same brush. Y'all need to learn what aesthetics are, and their importance in game design. Echo is intrinsically tied to Witchwood, recruit is intrinsically tied to Kolobds/Catacombs; they don't need to address anything with honesty because they are the ones creating the aesthetic feel of the game.
The playerbase has a HORRIBLE idea of what good aesthetics are, you need professionals making those decisions or you get what OP has suggested: a waste of their time and resources...and before you say what resouces does it take to make these changes, if they were easy would not the discussion be more open on their end?
What is good aesthethic about echo being tied to Witchwood if the mechanic behind echo isn't tied to Witchwood? What is bad aesthethic about Witch's Brew having echo?
How can you tell these professionals made a good decision when the entire playbase is unhappy and confused about it?
You say the OP wasted time, I'm pretty sure it costed more time and ressource to make this ******** decision "let's tie this keyword to this expansion, never use it again, but make more cards in the future with this exact keyword mechanically, but with normal text, AESTHETHICS DUDE, we're professional who cares what the player base think" lol.
Not to mention Witch's Brew is tied visually to Witchwood, but it can't be tied mechanically to Witchwood... Yeah makes total professional sense.
so true.

I nominate Leeroy. It's interesting that Blizz has become staunchly anti-Charge yet this neutral Fireball remains a staple in aggro decks.

Is this an unpopular opinion? I thought it was pretty common knowledge it was between Rexxar, Jaina, and Gul'dan.

I buy packs every expansion so it's not that big a concern to me but I would be upset if I was F2P and crafted golden versions of these cards (reason doesn't matter) and then Blizz altered them without any warning. Essentially, the product you paid for (I mean that loosely) and were promised turned out to be something else and this happened with no notification beforehand. If I bought a $4 red shirt from Walmart and one day it transformed into a blue shirt, I'd still want my money back. It's about the principle and Blizz's failure to communicate with the fans is what gets me.

Yeah not buying it. This is why I have trust issues.
PS: New Deadly Shot art is absolute crap but maybe it is keeping with Blizzard's new standards just based off the last few expansions.

Salt thread isn't the problem. Smart asses pretending they're contributing to a conversation by redirecting genuine questions to the salt thread - are the problem.

Yeah, in a vacuum without so many deathrattle trigger synergies it'd be fine. The problem is that to counter it your only solution is to kill it before they can get off their effects, which gives them a 7/7 and makes you lose shitloads of tempo. And if you don't kill it then they DO get off their effects and they get more 7/7's and you lose a metric fuckload of tempo.

I agree, a healthy midrange meta is the ideal format. Neither overly aggro or overly control is fun. And with so much control right now, climbing the ladder is just not attractive at all.

My first instinct was 100% arena card, inferior to Earthen Ring Farseer in almost every way. But after playing this game for so long, I've seen many unexpected cards see play. Perhaps the combination of divine shield in addition to the +3 heal can find it's way to fit into an EXTREMELY specific deck type where Silvermoon Guardian and Earthen would have been used in in place of this. Although, no one really uses those anyway.

I thought you meant the word "Shadows" in the "Rise of Shadows" logo. In which case, yes, it looks poorly shopped. Otherwise, no, everything so far is fine.
