No, It isn't better. Kirin Tor Mage has 7 stats and lets you cast a 3 mana spell. This has 6 stats, casts a 2 mana spell and draws a card (which is around 1 mana worth).

Yogg is a card for playing when you are (far) behind and have no other ways to win. Thus, it can't backfire because you lose anyway. If you play it while ahead then it is your problem
The better way is to nerf Spawn of Shadows to nerf Raza Priest it would weaken the burst considerably meaning the deck would still be playable but would make more matchups winnable from the opposite side. The deck is very beatable and not more of an issue than some other wild decks.
They will just switch to Velen+radiant or Pen Flinger+seance. It is less efficient but works.
If there is even a small chance you can still pull the win, you should stick it out.

one solution is that Blizzard would"Pseudo nerf" the Evolve mechanic maybe by favoring RNG of evolved minions into battle-cry more often compare to Taunt results or Death-Rattle minions.

I would nerf Hoard Pillager to Battlecry: Equip one of your destroyed weapons that costs 3 or less. In addition to damaging evolve shaman, it will keep the pillager under control if some other good expensive weapons will become a reality.
We need not a "vintage" format but something with rotating sets. I'd love a game mode that offers 6-8 "random" sets each month ranging from standard sets to ancient ones.
Duels kinda meant to do that but it is a very different game mode and you get cards from other sets in buckets.
Don't celebrate too early, "revamping" usually means removing power from the rotation-immune part of our collections.
I won't mind if they'll remove Edwin from my collection and even give me 1600 dust for that...
The recent round of changes for Priest was nice. I won't mind seeing the same for Druid or Warrior
Im VERY concerned if the priest rework is to be any indication of what is to come. They turned the class into a "random bullshit GO!" simulator, when the combo aspect was easily the most fun and skill intensive part of priest. I have not touched the class since and will not do so ever again, rly hope the guy behind that horrible rework doesnt get his hands on any other classes'.

Basic and classic priest changes included two things that can be called "random bullshit" are limited to Psychic Conjurer and buff to Thoughtsteal
Other changes\new cards are either for control tools or buffing minions.
