Well, 2000 gold for eventual 1600 dust + other cards is a good deal.

Sorry, but the example doesn't make sense. If you are getting digital stuff you don't want, you merely gain nothing. You don't need to dispose of it or something like this. Also, that additional chocolate you don't want is not free, of course you'll prefer buy a cheaper product with what you want (or a similarly costed product with more of chocolate you like)

Maybe you think that it will cost less or have more constructed stuff in it because BG stuff is removed? Nope. It is unrelated.

Getting stuff you don't want or don't use can't hurt you.

What you really want is more HS stuff but you won't get that just because BG stuff is moved to a different battlepass. If you want more HS stuff in the main battlepass you need to advocate for more HS stuff in the main battlepass, not call for separation that doesn't benefit you but hurts players who play multiple modes

How would I do the monetization (assuming cosmetics are not enough)?

When you start you get 1 hero, no selection at all. At X rating you get your second hero. At Y rating you get your third hero. At Z rating you get your fourth hero. Alternatively, you buy the pass and get 4 heroes immediately

Still P2Winish, but not a strict P2W and more like pay to not grind.

Separating XP\Quests is also a "great" move. Fewer players will now play both constructed and battlegrounds.

I expect to see higher ranks (not the highest!) depopulated. Casual players won't care much, they always can concede to reroll a hero and\or they are fine with having less powerful heroes.

7K+ F2P on other hand, will have a choice. Get 500-1000 (my rough estimation) less MMR or pay.

Do you know what is really funny? F2P players who don't care about their rank will just concede until they get a hero they like. The only F2P players who may start paying are those who are quite competitive.

Why do you see it as a good thing? How separate rewards make anything better?

They actually promise it won't be the case Runestones will be available in bundles of various sizes, including quantities that correspond to our major products (like the Battlegrounds Season Pass), so you can buy exactly the quantity needed for that product or you can stock up on more for later.

ut those runestones are awful news... My excitement for any new modes is killed by those, chances are that they will also be P2W like battlegrounds. Currency that can't be earned in-game is always awful

To be fair, monetizing a game with cosmetics alone can be done. To be fair, P2W is unacceptable for any respectable company.

What next? +5 health in constructed Hearsthone should you buy a season pass? OR additional mulligan? Or 4 choices in discover (hey, all cards are balanced! Why not give some players more options for a minor fee? As they say: more about optionality than power!)

Even subscription only would be better than a strict undisguised P2W system.
