posted a message on Rank Floors Make Winning Games Impossible
    Quote from MoonUnit >>

The later it goes into the season the more weak players will filter down to the better ranks, because the stronger players mostly hit legend as the season goes on. Therefore no, it is not true that you can no longer play weaker players at a rank floor, they will find themselves there when everyone else moves to the next rank floor.

This an accurate statement.  There's another factor at play though which is less straightforward.  Some of the less skilled players who cannot win at the rank floors stop playing which makes the overall player pool stronger.  When given the ability to rank down, these players are less likely to "give up" as they eventually find winnable matchups.  Although yes as the month progresses the lesser players are eventually able to move forward if they are playing.

Personally I prefer the flexibility of being able to rank down over rank floors.  Though I'm not bothered by ranking down since I know I'll be able to rank up fairly easily later once the better players have ranked up.

posted a message on It's Pretty Much All Just Quest Shaman and Combo Priest...

Personally, I'm glad that there are so many players playing quest shaman because the deck just isn't that good.  Just look up the stats for that deck.  Sure once you complete the quest you start generating a ton a value due to your cheap battle cry minions generating two lackeys and then those lackey's triggering their own battle cries twice.  The deck is considered fun because once you complete the quest, your tempo ramps up to 100 and you can catch up pretty quick.  What many players don't recognize however is that quest is completed late too often and ends up losing much more frequently than other top tier decks.  Let's look at the matchups

Quest Shaman vs Combo Priest - 40% chance to win.  Quest shaman vs highlander hunter 49% chance to win.  Quest shaman vs quest druid 46% chance to win.  Quest shaman vs control warrior 49% chance to win.

It's not a great deck and a lot of people play it.  Embrace this fact.  Combo priest is the 2nd most popular deck only because it wrecks quest shaman.  Only at legend and rank 1 do the number of combo priest players outnumber the number of quest shaman players.  For everyone else - you know what to do now.

I can't support your request due to the fact that the meta has not self regulated correctly to allow the best decks to rise to the top yet.  Once that happens, then maybe make some changes.

posted a message on [80% WR] Quest Shaman Rank 1 in one day! (Tested over 30+ games)

Mind Control Tech has always been a cyclical meta card.  When opponents aren't expecting it, it's great.  Once it's been established in the meta, they know to play around it.  I question the card being in this deck at this point.  Yes, the battle cry can trigger twice but when opponents know that it appears in this particular deck only  it often doesn't trigger at all.  If one were to remove the card from the deck, opponents still won't spread their boards as wide as they optimally could in anticipation of the card being played.  So this card retains a phantom effect even when not in the deck.  Thoughts?

Let me help you make your point.  Filter HSreplay by legend and ranks 1-5.  Priest is the only tier 1 deck when you look at it that way.

I agree with you.  People feel entitled to say things like this behind the safety of their computers and I'm not a fan of it.

Easy to complete, pretty decent reward, inconsistent.  I think the main downside will end up being that you can't reliably the complete the quest  in a reasonable amount of time unless you junk up your desk with pilfer and violet haze.  You aren't playing control as rogue so if you don't complete the quest quick, you suffer tempo loss and likely lose the game.  You have to consider that blizzard has had high legend players playtest this.  Don't fall too hard for the bait.

I don't think rogue will suffer too much from passing round one and using 4 mana for completing the quest. It's a great tool to deal with aggro and it has great value since it basically means 2 mana deal 6 damage to anything

Fair, but this assumes that you've drawn the cards you need to complete the quest early in the game.  Over a period of time you'll draw them, certainly.  The question is if you'll have drawn them all in the beginning of the game to deal with aggro.  My thought is that the average point in which one would complete the quest is slightly too slow. For the record, I'm still rating this card as "Very good".

If you are building a midrange deck, you're probably going to have trouble with aggro no matter what. It's OK to accept that and build a deck that's good in all the other match-ups. There is no such thing as One Deck To Rule Them All.

I don't disagree with that.  If you read above you'll see I was responding to the comment stating that the quest reward would be a great tool to deal with aggro.  Edit: I see the card Clever Disguise was revealed.  This changes what I had said earlier.

Not OP, just balanced.  Be a warrior, playing against a faster deck.  This is not the removal that you want on turn 5.

posted a message on New Card Revealed - Brazen Zealot

I feel like the comments so far have neglected to acknowledge that new cards can make existing cards (which may not be found in current meta decks) stronger.  Take Never Surrender! for example.  Creating (otherwise good) minions with an obvious 1 health vulnerability is a way to make such a card relevant.  Even though one health minions are particularly vulnerable in Hearthstone, there's a good amount of upside here.
