Is it just me or should holiday card backs be available immediately upon reaching the goals for them? I mean, I love the artwork for the October card back, but giving the reward at the start of November kinda removes the whole Halloween aspect of the card back. I would like to play with it now, while it's the spooky time of the month. Next month is more like Thanksgiving time, but w/e.

SaerusNA posted a message on Leeroy Jenkins & Starving Buzzard Changes Confirmed for September 22ndPosted in: News1.) The Leeroy nerf seems thoroughly unnecessary - although I don't play Handlock or Miracle myself, I've always found them to be interesting matchups. The huge burst potential creates tension that's fun to play around and I don't think every single deck in the game necessarily needs to feature heavy minion trading (this homogenizing design focus seems a bit overzealous). It makes for healthy variety if a couple of decks play differently, and frankly, I've never once felt that a Leeroy was played against me was unfair. This one surprised me.
2.) So, is Buzzard the new Kidnapper? This poor guy is gonna go right on the scrap heap while hunters make the shift to Hyena, Cult Master, and Knife Thrower for their UTH value. I think the decks will still be viable, but it's the fact a card is going from amazing to utterly unplayable that gives me pause. Brode has said they're reluctant to do actual nerfs and instead prefer to balance by introducing new cards (case in point, Belcher reigning in Miracle and Zoo) so it's doubly surprising to witness such a heavy-handed nerf. I can't see the card being remotely playable - it's either going to sit in your hand as long as Ysera, or you gamble early and hope your 5 mana 3/2 survives long enough to be worth the investment (it won't). They said the numbers felt right, though, so who knows.
3. Finally, none of the decks affected by these changes are really that problematic, at least on the ladder. Miracle and Handlock definitely aren't, and I feel like the Hunter craze has largely subsided from the early days of Mad Scientist. Zoo, at least, was way more frustrating to play against during its heyday. In other words, both of these nerfs seem disproportionate to the perceived imbalance of the decks.

Pinindajin posted a message on Leeroy Jenkins & Starving Buzzard Changes Confirmed for September 22ndPosted in: NewsMiracle is my favorite deck "should be obvious lol" so I won't disenchant, but even with Belcher and Loatheb lists, which I run at the moment, I can attribute 5-10% of my win ratio on any given day to a double shadowstep combo. If I lose that win percentage in a meta already hard for Miracle rogue... ugh. I loath nothing more than Midrange Minion trading fight puzzles, and I think that Naxx along with this nerf is going to bring exactly that to the table...

Seijua posted a message on [Spark] Deadly Zoo (S6)Posted in: [Spark] Deadly Zoo (S6)I've been running a copy of Dancing Swords in place of a Flare with really great results. It just synergizes well with the Undertaker early game and gives me a nice alternative to an Animal Companion on turn 3.

tomiathon posted a message on Legendary Tier Crafting GuidePosted in: Card DiscussionQuestion to all: based on the current meta, what should I craft?
I'm thinking of the following:
If you have any suggestions, feel free to reply.
TBK's value has skyrocketed IMO since Naxx (before I thought he was a little overrated, although still a really strong card). So I think he's your default option among those 4, but if you have a strong preference for aggro decks (or one of the control/midrange decks that sometimes run him like Handlock or Shaman), then Leeroy might edge him out. Likewise, if you really want to play Paladin, I don't think Tirion would be a mistake at all. Thalnos is great, but replaceable until you get the other legendaries you really want. I'd craft him 2nd after The Black Knight if you don't have a strong desire to play aggro or Paladin, or 3rd or 4th if you do.

Posted in: Far Sightthis is an underrated card. it cycles a card and gives an (uncontrollable) innervate effect. compare it to mana tide which is a card that dies about 90% of the time the turn after you play it, you are basically doing the same thing. the design of the card is in line with other random effects in the game. if you hit something like al'akir or fire ele with it, or even just a combo card, it is good.

That's coming out in the Mists of Pandaria expansion next year.

Enough said. However, if Blizzard pushes mech synergy this card will likely be a staple.

That's most windfury cards summed up in a sentence. Except Al'Akir and Doomhammer, that are awesome.

This card will be fun to play with. The text doesn't read, attack a random minion, it says 50% chance to attack the wrong enemy. That means if your looking to get through one last taunt, it could go directly to your opponents face to finish them off.
The other difference is that it has a 50% chance to hit your intended target first. So if your opponent has 3 minions on their board, you have a 62.5% chance to hit your initial target, and 12.5% to hit the each of the other two minions or your opponents face.

Agreed!

That's a haiku!

This card seems okay but it's stat line on the vanilla test is below average. It's a three attack minion for 4 mana that won't regularly trade with most 4 cost minions that typically have 4/5 health. It's card text ability isn't reliable and it's a slow card overall. I have no idea what deck this card would be played in. I can't even see it being played to counter miracle rogue as it's ability allows miracle rogue to sap it after playing a ton of spells or eviscerate it because of it's 5 health.

Feels sort of like an MTG card to me.

Ben Brode also encouraged players to choose the Mage spell.

I agree with you but I think card draw for Hunter is closer to 1 to 1.5 mana cost because of Flare and Tracking. It's potential to be good is based on having beasts with high mana costs that you'd want to include in your deck. i.e. something better than King Krush or King Mukla
