posted a message on Why is "everyone" pretending that Wild Mode will not even exist?

This thread is one long juctification based on MTG. But MTG was never a DIGITAL game, its cop out. Blizzard could have easily fixed this game forward without formats, but they're too lazy - what they do best is copy others ideas and polish them up - thats what HS was, thats what WoW was, thats what Warcarft was. They're too stuck in their own methods for success. They really didn't need to copy MTG here.

So you havent read any thread about this in the last 2 days and come here to ask weird things. Theres reason behind the shittstorm.

Came home from my vacation today so I just read about it and I'm completely overwhelmed with all the negative threads, so a slight explanation could be in order.

I can't speak for others but for me I'm worried they won't care enough about Wild mode, that they'll break it possibly with the very next expansion, therefore there will be no where functioning to play with our larger card collections outside of tavern brawls. Blizzard hasn't been exactly great at balancing this game with speedy nerfs or buffs to cards that needed it. Now they have an excuse - "It deosn't matter that this new card is totally OP, it'll be wild only before you know it".

posted a message on Boast your Gold/Dust Thread!

Currently sat on 3.5k gold and 5k dust. Essentially an infinite arena player with limited time to play.

I have a question... A someone who intends to play both Wild and Standard and is also looking to collect all GvG cards (missing a few epics and many of the legendaries), should I be hitting arena hard now before GvG is gone? Should I be buying GvG packs? Or should I just wait and craft what is left in the long run?

posted a message on Keep gold vs play arena

At an average of 5 wins a run in arena I think you can pretty confidently keep playing. Just set a baseline you don't want to push past, say 2000, 3000, 4000 gold....whatver you think suits best.

If ur a collector, buy as many gvg packs as u can now, for everyone else, don't buy them at all.

I can't work it out...is there logic to this? I'm really only missing legendaries and a couple of epics. I intend to play both modes, but would also like a full set of GvG. Currently sat on a shit load of gold from infinite arena.

posted a message on A replacement for Loatheb?

They need to move him over to classic, Loatheb is too good a concept to throw in the trash. He can help every kind of deck, is a card you can hold in your hand and plan to play many turns in advance and is the only real counter spells for many classes.

To make this clear for everyone:
"Wild" will become the new casual mode and will evolve to full-retard-trololol-mode over time:

    - Let's be honest: A lot of ppl play HS also for Epeen (me included). If standard is being propagated in official tournament and your profile shows only your standard rank, it is THE (ONLY) way to play the game.

    - Cards are going to be developed, balanced and revisioned with STANDARD mode in mind. They might (and at a certain point in time: WILL) be completely broken, if used with cards from older/banned expansions. While Wild might be also fun right after standard format starts, it will become utter BS after 2 additional expansions, in which no designer kept cards like Boom and Shredder in mind anymore.

So instead of treating HS as the digital game it is and keep it fresh with constant balance patches and revisions, they decided to go for full cash grab and going to treat it like a PHYSICAL CARD GAME, which it is OBVIOUSLY NOT.
When we asked in the past for constant balance patches, they said: "NOOO! We can't do that! Players would be very sad, if their beloved cards in which they invested so much time and money, became worse!"
And now THEY REMOVE THEM FROM THE FREAKIN GAME.
And yeah, for me and a lot of other players, those cards will cease to exist. I haven't played a single match in casual mode for more than a year. So I will not play "Wild" in the future, esp. because it will be broken as sh1t.

This is even more infuriating, if you keep in mind that they released only 2 Adventures and 2 Expansions and already remove HALF of their additional content from the game,...

And guess what they will do? They'll sell us new Antique Healbots, new Sludge Belchers and at a certain point a new Dr. Boom. Esp. cards like Healbot are irreplaceable and HAVE to exist. So they'll just rerelease 'em with a new picture and a new name. And you have to buy new packs and more packs and more packs,...

    Oh boy,...

This post sums up the situation perfectly.
The proper solution would be to treat Hearthstone like a digital game, make regular tuning passes where you both nerf and buff cards. Then bring out new sets that have clever new mechanics and card types.
Blizzard's solution is a disaster for casuals. 1/3 to 1/2 of our cards go away pretty soon. Then our choice is to go play in the unsupported and unbalanced dumping-grounds of Wild or spend constantly to keep up with the current rotation in Standard.
People who are defending blizzard need to try read and understand these two comments. Yes they make cool games, but you don't need to self-justify by defending them over this, bringing up MTG, power creep and other BS to deflect.
It's a freaking DIGITAL card game!! Go back to pre-release they were hyping this aspect of the game, saying how it would be used as an advantage to stop it retreading the same ground as real, older CCGs.  The point about not wanting to nerf old cards in fear of upsetting causals who worked hard for their Dr Boom or whatever ...and now they just remove them... is so on point I had to repeat it.

Could we get a link to that?

Or play wild...there's no downside whatsoever to playing wild.  Wild is not broken if you feel the current meta is not broken.  This is so insanely easy to understand and it frustrates me to no end when I continue to hear people complain about how such and such is now useless.  Unless you are a tournament player, there is no incentive whatsoever to play standard.

Think you will be able to say that after they introduce the new set? They're being balanced to the original set right? No one said anything about wild? Do you trust blizzard not to introduce cards that will create one or two completely broken decks (far worse than anythnig current), now they've given themselves an excuse not to care?

All we needed, literally ALL we need was for Brode to come out say something like "Ok guys, when we inevitably create a new card that unlocks some truly broken combo in wild, we'll do something about it".

Thats it, that one thing. Instead what they've infered is that they don't give a shit abiout what happens to wild mode, it will inevitably be full of broken decks pretty quickly and we don't care cause we want you to play standard, streamers will play standard, tournaments will be standrad based, we will be pushing standard. This means the collections we've built are now worth precisely dick.

They said exactly one of those things.
And the collections we've built up has always been worth dickall, it's just that now the idiots are realizing it.
     Which did they say?
Anyways, forgive me for not bending over for the second time with a smile on my face.

posted a message on Why the consolation prize of "Wild Format" isn't going to be good enough

We long time arena/f2p-players wont be prodded into paying and if you turn the collections we worked hard for to junk we just quit.

Wild won't seem so wild when EVERY game is ending turn 5 or sooner thanks to broken card being used in broken combos in broken decks.

It has a lot more cards then "standard". It seems steady for now, but wait a few years :p

I'm guessing there will be a lot of secret paladins + whatever totally new broken Dr boomalikes get added with new expansions - and there will be a lot of these, as this new mode gives them a free pass on balancing the game, especially for Wild mode. Wild.

posted a message on To those complaining about the new Standard format..

This is a VIRTUAL CCG, they could balance the game easy as *&$%, they just won't cause they're worried it will cost them future packs sales. The truth is a better balanced game retains and attracts more players and is healthier for their bank balance in the long run.
