One used to be able to play a tavern brawl 3 times to satisfy the requirements of one of the “play 3 games as a certain class” quests. That no longer works for me. Is this intentional? I also saw the same thing when playing “casual” duels as opposed to the “heroic” duels.
They are just a face-attack deck. They have a silence effects that is dirt cheap and also draws a card. They have the most broken legendary of all time, Kayn Sunfury that just ignores one of the core aspects of the game: taunt. And it doesn’t ignore a single taunt minion, and it’s not just Kayn that ignores the taunt, it literally removes the concept of taunt from your opponent’s board entirely. This card should be banned; it’s worse than Ragnaros or Sylvanas ever was.
Paladin is very strong. They can drop minions early, they have cheap big taunt minions with divine shield for the mid game, and can keep up in the late game too with Libram of justice to easily kill big opposing minions and lots of ways to boost their own minions to huge sizes. Right now, Paladin, DH, and Hunter are pretty close in power level. Those 3 are the clear Tier 1 decks in this meta, with Paladin probably the best of the 3. If you’re playing Druid, Priest, Warlock, or Mage... it’s going to be tough sledding against DH and Hunter in the early game, but if you survive that, you can beat them. Paladin? They can keep on coming. I think they are the strongest class now.
Have you actually played against them? Blade dance? Their entire strategy is boost their hero attack to 10, play blade dance, smash face. They also have silence and the legendary that lets them ignore taunt.... Right now they are tier 1, and only paladin really is close in power right now. As usual since they introduced the class, it’s OP compared to every other class. Wish they’d never introduced it.
Agreed.... this set is frustrating, as they are adding a card or two to a number of different deck types... none of which make any of the types much stronger. It feels like Druid will sink even farther down the tier list....
This and greybough... not so great. Paladin gets the libram that is 8 healing, 8/8 with divine shield and taunt.... WAY better than this. 8 mana for a RANDOM 8-mana minion? Sorry, the 8 armor doesn’t make up the difference, and you don’t get the battle cry on the minion either? Utter garbage.
Paladin is better than both Hunter and demon Hunter right now. Too many extremely high-value cards. They have early game with a 1/3 for 1 and the 0-cost spell to get them more 1-drops. The libram that drops opponents all to 1 health is OP. The 8 mana for restore 8 health, and an 8/8 with taunt and divine shield is beyond OP... Druid gets a simple 8/8 with taunt, no divine shield, no healing at all for a comparison of what 8 mana gets you with other classes.
Hunter is the same as it ever was. It gets stronger or weaker based on the expansion, but there will always be face Hunter. Paladin was never like this before. They gave them too many OP cards all at once. When they had a few cards that could EITHER shrink your stuff or grow theirs a bit, it was ok. But now they can instantly shrink your entire board after plopping down a 2-drop that copied not the biggest minion, but the highest stat in both health and attack among all minions.....
Clearly blizzard has decided that it is Paladin’s “turn” to be on top. So many mana cheats and then the 0-cost cards that pop back in your hand to buff things... oh and let’s add on the pen flinger so that your opponent not only has to lose to OP crap, but sit there forever waiting for you to fling pens 10 times a turn.
As for DH, well they started massively OP and now are just below the absurdly OP paladin. The “nerf” to double slice has backfired and is stronger now than it was before. Unlike Paladin, you can conceivably fight DH if you can anticipate and freeze their hero at the right time... although they can still blade dance you to death even if they can’t hit you that turn.
Un-nerfNat Pagle - draw at the end of the turn! Its power level has long been surpassed; un-nerfing it wouldn’t break it and might even encourage people to use it sometimes.
There is a grain of truth to this. They have been play testing the new expansion and they’re seeing that these cards are overpowered when in that new environment.
I did pretty well this month with a Druid deck that wasn’t reliant on the perfect start - it didn’t even have ramp. It would sometimes lose to the “perfect starts” from casino decks. But since it wasn’t dependent on those things, it was far more consistent. This led to more wins than losses. Sure, sometimes I lost to a mage with the miracle puzzle box or a rogue that drew galakrond and kronx for 0 cost from the magic wand... but anytime my opponent got a weak casino mage puzzle box or drew pharaoh cat and backstab from the magic wand instead of expensive stuff... my consistent deck rolled them every time because I wasn’t waiting for my own miracle.

The typical “u r bad if u lose to DH” post. DH is dominant right now - just look at the win rates.

Ysera unleashed negates the effects of zephyrs or Elise if you draw it before them....

Awesome example of power creep - legendary, 7 cost, required a no-duplicates deck... dragon caster was (and still is after the nerf) better.

I prefer Marsh Hydra - it costs 1 less, and it actually gives you a batterhead sometimes with its effect.
