I can't help but laugh at this.

We all assume dragon tribe right? Minions that buff dragons existed since Amalgam was broken. Why? Perfect logic to add dragon tribe.

I can't help but laugh, because watch blizzard pull a fast one and just be like 'hey guys, check out the new bg hero Deathwing!'

Huh? What dragon tribe? We put a lot of effort into this hero! Do yOu GUys NoT LiKE DeAThwINg?

How about you people stop pointing the finger at Blizzard?

They are only able to do what Transactivision tells them to do.

Blizzard used to be arguably the best gaming company for over a decade, until they were controlled by Activision. Everything plummeted to complete garbage and probably half the blizzard staff of quality quit because Activision cut bonuses.

Blizzard used to operate on bonuses for doing good work on developing a game, and provided less than average wage to balance it out. They got paid well. Activision removed the bonuses and paid the Blizzard staff the same (less than the market avg). Even the CEO of Blizz used his severance to pay employees after the tyrant took over.

Now they just spit out garbage titles in hopes of making enough micro-transactions to pay for the abomination of a game. Once Blizzard is low enough profits, we will see the true Activision do it's dirty work.

Blizzard died years ago, Blame Activision.

    Nah, rewards are everything.

Do you still grind to legend every month? for your shitty golden classic cards? It's not fun, it's not rewarding, and you can't keep up with the pros unless you dedicate your life to it like a streamer.

I stopped grinding about a year ago, imagine the incentive to grind if they offered packs for various placements in the season? How many more people would play ranked ladder or actually try in BGs If you started to earn packs instead of 10g for 3 wins? 1 pack for seasonal participation, 5 packs for rank 10, 10 packs rank 5, 15 packs legend, 25 top 500 legend? That seems pretty reasonable to me, it takes a lot of time to grind to those higher points, they definitely deserve some sort of reward. Card backs mean absolutely nothing.

Probably the most enjoyable part of MTG is being able to expand your collection and trade for cards with your tournament prize winnings. You could literally go into a 4 round swiss pre-release tournament and win 20 packs for just winning four rounds.

What do we do in hearthstone? Pay money for digital cards with no value whatsoever. When I quit magic I sold my collection for $5000USD, bought a gaming PC and took my wife to the Dominican. What's my hearthstone collection worth? ZERO.

As per the topic, hoping for a dragon tribe to diversify bgs a bit more. It was spoiled long ago considering many of the cards have buff dragons in their text.

Huh? I haven't seen anything about MTG axing sideboards, they were present at the 2018 world cup and they are still present in current day tournament play?

Well at that point you may as well ask for rare/exclusive card backs too, but isn't that what makes them rare? Though you can probably still buy Tyrande codes on ebay for $5.

Oh I also have a huge problem with how long some of these matches are, some decks I don't even bother with because it's mindless card draw into fatigue. Better not play these card draw cards in my deck, they are going to be self 5-15 damage cards late game! Board wipe empty board to keep hand size under 10. Fuuuuuun.

Who wants to contribute up to 30 minutes of personal time for a potential RNG loss?

Enough of this rock paper scissors garbage. I don't want an aggro deck to beat a combo deck, I don't want a combo deck to beat a midrange, and I don't want a midrange to beat an aggro.

It feels like you have to go heavy into one style or another to beat one of the other two, there is no middle ground.

I used to play magic, and although there are similarities in the aggro/combo/midrange mindset, there are also decks that have the tools to beat anything. Unfortunately there is no sideboard for best two of three in hearthstone, but there used to be more decks that could do something in past expansions/seasons.

Also, it's insanely expensive to keep up if you want to, the F2P isn't good enough. I gotta shard all my previous expansions from Wild to retain any sort of competitiveness in Standard, even with ~150 free packs every set. I used to buy packs a year or more ago, now there is no point. Shit, it's like $2 a pack for 5 cards? You're on MTG level of cost, for digital cards that cannot even be traded. That we have to deconstruct or shard down into half it's crafting value of dust. Cut pack cost, increase dust value. It's just Activision Greed at this point. I remember clearly, two expansions ago, I had 162 free packs and I only got 4 legendaries. How am I supposed to craft multiple 5-10k dust decks to be competitive?

There is no point in investing money into this game, it's just digital cards. Why would I invest money into something with no competitive scene? Who wants to devote a full time career's worth of effort to get a chance to roll the dice to get to the top of a $5000 tournament? I used to have gold decks, multiples, my collection has slowly been sharded and is dwindling to just the bare minimums to hit rank 5 and I've been playing since Goblins Vs Gnomes. I've been on the rank 5 and get my free cards train for years now, Legend has no rhyme or reason to grind. Why bother?

Every expansion is like yay new cards, then one week in the meta is solved and it's back to previous decks with one or two new cards?

I could keep going, but those are my biggest problems. I used to play in my spare time, which got reduced to playing at work on mobile and during meals at home. Now I can't even be bothered, it's an effort to login and play, I'd rather just watch Youtube. But I keep coming back to this website in hopes of reading changes to the game that interest me. When does this stale season rotate? sigh.

Holy shit I am getting some hard PTSD from some of these cards. Glad they aren't in standard anymore!!

Would be interesting to watch some of these matches, but I seem to be reading balancing is out the window in wild.

posted a message on Hearthstone Wild Card Pack Bundle Now Available Worldwide! 40 Discounted Packs

Well, Wild is available for anyone to play, but keep in mind as a new player it is much harder to compete with those that have cards from all the sets. I never played wild since it was separated from standard, so I can't comment where the larger collections appear on the ladder.

If you are looking for a gift so your SO can have some fun new cards to use in tavern brawl, this is a great idea.

They are only locked until you complete the intro missions to learn to play the game, kinda like a tutorial I imagine. But I haven't started a new account since goblins vs gnomes! Worst case scenario, you be a good mate and complete them for her. Bonus surprise.

That deck should not be around much if at all, most of the meta will be control warrior until nerf or meta rotation. The Control/Mind blast priest deck loses to control warrior at a very high %, especially baku.

with Rin, we should be able to take down the current anti-hunter boogeyman.

Man this list of pro decks is rather depressing. Nothing here jumped out at me as, "oohhh, that'll be fun to play".

More along the lines of oh great, that deck is making a comeback? What form of rock paper scissors am I going to grind today? Time to face a bunch of coma inducing control warriors to counter the onslaught of odd rogue.

Love Hearthstone, but it's not going to last much longer with the game feeling like this. Played MTG from the start, and I can't recall ever getting to a point where I just had no desire to pick up any of my decks and play...

Activision is letting Blizzard bleed out.
