Blizzard don't want to make cards that attack your opponent's hand, I believe.

If you're facing a lot of Harrison Jones rather than decks like Zoo, change it up to Hammer of Twilight. Very poor value to use Harrison on that.

You shouldn't replace Tunnel Trogg because a replacement that's as good doesn't exist. Just craft it, it's 80 dust for both.

posted a message on Weekly Card Design Competition #21: Submission Topic

    Competition Restraints:

    • Mana cost of 7.
    • Attack value of 7.
    • 7 words in the card text.

    Clarifications:

    • Dealing combat damage first works when both attacking or being attacked.
    • Attacking into or being attacked by a War Golem at full health will result in the War Golem dying and Maiev Shadowsong surviving, taking no damage in the progress.
    • Attacking into or being attacked by a Molten Giant will result in the Molten Giant taking 7 damage, then Maiev Shadowsong taking 8 damage and dying.
    • Two copies of Maiev Shadowsong attacking each other will deal damage at the same time for the sake of simplicity.

Words can be very harmful, but as a recipient of it, you have some control over that.

Setting the 15yo's post about victim blaming aside, all you have control over is how you respond to the hate.

Chances are the person who flamed you was not thinking about you 10 minutes later. If you were still upset about his flaming, you've given him an amount of power over you that he isn't concerned about having and shouldn't have over you anyways.

As far as dealing with it for children (as I'd like to set my daughter up with an account), it's a teaching moment on how to deal with internet trolls by not feeding them, which will be a useful lesson with all the other challenges she will face in life.

I like everything the OP said, but I think I disagree with the overall premise. I think people should focus most on what they have direct control over - our own responses to incidents like this. And less on what you cannot possibly stop others from doing.

    My 2 cents.

It's easy to tell people to not worry about it when they get flamed or insulted but it's not really so easy to put into practice. There's plenty of people out there who will think nothing of it and just brush it off, but there are also many people out there that will be affected by it to some degree -- either slightly or majorly.

It's not so easy to just decide that you're no longer going to react to a certain stimulus. You eat something that tastes disgusting and it'll be "Don't let the taste bother you!". You stub your little toe and it'll be "Don't let the pain bother you!". In many cases these stimuli aren't severe enough that they'll leave lasting damage, similar to online insults, but it's difficult to just ignore them.

But Gold Garrosh still the most awsome. And it's free!

    True story.

You say it's free, but I could work for half an hour and have enough money to buy a portrait. How long would I need to spend winning games to get Gold Garrosh?

posted a message on farming rank 20... wrong?

Don't kid yourselves win-farmers. The only positive to come out of this is you getting your gold portrait. Don't make up crap about making low ranks "more competitive" to "help people learn". If you were so concerned about helping people learn you'd be volunteering your time to coach people. People don't get better by being beaten by people better than them. They get better by people better than them telling them why they aren't winning.

What I don't get is why people don't just play the game to get their gold portraits? Is the only reason you play this game for rewards and validation? If you're willing to sink so much time grinding into the game surely you actually enjoy playing it? Why not enjoying playing it while you earn your gold portrait?

I take it you're not having a ton of fun grinding wins at low ranks -- it's probably boring as heck. The new player is having no fun either. The new player is going to quit if they just keep getting stomped and see the only out as "pay to win".
