That's true about Thrall but he may provide you with a surprise win condition or upgrade your low statted taunts when you don't need them. See how works.

I get the philosophy of the Al Akir/corspetaker synergy but your deck is already so defensive even without it. This deck wrecks aggro and the shakier midrange decks but my concern is how to holds up against druids, other control decks and the sturdier midrange decks. Even combo decks, this list gives exodia mage all the time it needs to win. If you see the clock ticking how can you apply pressure? You don't have many late game threats (you can't rely on a sole spirit echo) and your hard removal/transformation targets for opponents are obvious and there is nothing to bait them out unles you high roll with the stonehill defenders.

This deck has the hallmarks of a classic survivalist/grinder deck with lots of removal, aoe and heals but I would be concerned about it's long term viability without a clear finisher, I doubt it could win on board value alone as your opponent can probably deal with your best threats too just as you can deal with theirs. I will be interested to hear how it fares against other control decks, especially ones which use the new death knights.

Saying that if the meta goes back to normal this deck should be fine but right now I just see so much power everywhere.

Sunwalker is a decent shout if you keep the corpsetakers because there are a lot of priests out there. I second the Thrall DK. I play him in my control shaman with no other evolve mechanics and he is great.

Another reason you should consider dropping the Al Akir/corpse taker combo is because you don't have flametongues for the Al Akir finisher or the Thrall DK hero power to evolve it after first charge.

He is interesting with barnes but when making a deck like this you need to imagine what your deck would be like if you don't draw barnes. Is Al Akir good enough on his own? I doubt it and neither are the corpse takers.

Another thing you could consider is a cheeky ancestral spirit. If you drop barnes on turn 6 you can spirit the fatty you draw.

If you were not running spirit echo I would say white eyes because of stonehill defender but he is so good with spirit echo I would probably say Hallazeal. You have a lot of spells to make use of his effect but there is not a great deal of draw in the deck so you may not always have a good spell to combo with him. Plus there is lots of healing in there already.

Also white eyes can fit in a few shaman decks, I crafted Hallazeal but the only deck I ever found him worth it was Malygos shaman.

Do you have elise? She would be a good Hallazeal replacement and another top value spirit echo target?

My first was Al Akir. My favourite was Nexus champion for all the golden spells.

posted a message on Why are other decks better at aggro than hunter?

Aggro is necessary for the good of the game but when hunter is the best at it it is too oppressive. The most frustrating meta I have ever experienced was post GVG face hunter/undertaker hunter. Well over 50% of all games on EU ladder were against hunter and the community complained like never have been seen before (worse than secret or patron complaints).

It was highly dispiriting and I think they are wary of letting that happen again.

Ragnaros lightlord is a pretty good spell taunt if you like paladin

posted a message on meta is worse than before

My biggest fear was that Jade druid would be more viable after the new release and the opposite has happened so I can't complain too much. Quest rogue has a frustrating presence on the ladder but the anti aggro tools have seemed to have worked with the new early taunts and you don't have to gimp your entire deck to counter them it seems. Overall I am optimistic and when the meta settles I hope that it keeps the wide spread of viable classes it has now.
