KingSevault posted a message on Weekly Card Design Competition 9.10 - Discussion TopicHere's my first attempt. What are y'all's thoughts? Toothy basilisk is pretty similar to Carrion Drake, but I don't want to mess with the stats too much as making it too small makes it not feel like a big ol basilisk, and big cards don't really need poisonous. The weapon is also a rogue weapon, and rogues typically don't deal with dragon synergy, but there's only one class that deals with both dragons and poisonous (Hunter) so something's got to give.

DoubleSummon posted a message on Weekly Card Design Competition 9.10 - Discussion TopicPosted in: Fan CreationsQuote from HunkyPupser >>Quote from DoubleSummon >>Quote from HunkyPupser >>why do you think Dead man's hand is so powerful?.. it's not. 10 mana 5/5 lol easily underpowered as a 4 mana card.
the current last entry of a 1 mana 3/3 with a benefit amazes me, so do people who didn't read the rules.
They put them in your hand bro which doubles combo potential for the next turn(s). 4 mana would be soooooo broken :-/
Oh I thought it was to deck.. it didn't made sense for the 1 cost otherwise.. Should've read the whole text I guess I saw the first part and I instinctively linked it to DMH
The hunter cards is way too OP and the rogue card costs too much still, it's a rogue card after all, could cost 7-8 and be OK since it's not a spell like sprint so it can't be cheated out, but on the other hand we got hypemon, getting this with hypemon.. is well. HYPE.
1 mana 1/1 draw a card is broken, see Kobold Librarian, so draw 5 in potential?

Haussenfuss posted a message on Rant: Alternate Hero portrait.Posted in: PriestI used to help organize a semi-regular FSG in Toronto. A couple folks who were pack-a-day smokers would often complain about how Magni, Medivh and Alleria were "locked behind a paywall". They decided to "fight the power" by not purchasing the cosmetics, and frequently bitching about it to anyone who might listen. In Toronto, a pack of cigarettes is locked behind a $13 paywall.
If anything, it's surprising that the HS store isn't crammed with purchasable cardbacks, emotes, hero skins, game boards, alternate card art, and any other cosmetic you can imagine. It isn't. You can buy packs, and some four-year-old hero skins. Shockingly, whenever there is a new expansion, they offer a couple promotions . . . and some idiots pretend it's the end of the world.

JibbaNerbs posted a message on Card Treasure HuntPosted in: General ChatWell, this sounds like Hunter's Mark.
'Firstly, I was worth nothing, //Initially costed 0 mana
Then I came little odd. //Now costs 1 mana
Now I'm even more strange, //unclear, but...
You usually see mi with Suicide Squad.' //Deathrattle hunter would probably be the best we're getting for 'suicide squad' (Unclear whether spelling it 'mi' has anything to do with anything.) -

Wailor posted a message on Weekly Card Design Competition 9.10 - Discussion TopicPosted in: Fan CreationsMy final try. I think I will finally submit this after possible balance changes.
I think the difference here is quite obvious: while the Paladin weapon is self-sufficient, the Succubus requires damaging cards to work.

czapejro posted a message on How many wins do you have ?Posted in: General DiscussionQuote from HunkyPupser >>Quote from hillandder >>It is over 9.000!!!
Srs question: why are you only rank 10 with 22k wins ? It kinda looks bad.
Even if you don't like climbing, getting rank 5 should be easy after that much Hearthstone.
If you don't like climbing, doesn't matter how easy it is
For a good player rank 5 can’t be considered climbing. I usually get from 9 to 5 in a day without hitting the daily gold cap. I am assuming he should be good after all those games.
you're assuming much more than just what you said you're assuming
basically you don't know how many of those wins are from Tavern Brawls(yes TB wins count towards total wins) and you don't know what types of decks he's playing, ofc it's easy as hell to get from 9 to 5 with odd paladin, but a lot of players refuse to play that, I still remember players getting to legend with pirate warrior and then using legendary cardback and doing simplest mistakes,
what I'm trying to say is that rank doesn't define how good of a player you are
also just because he has 20k wins doesn't mean he's playing actively right now, it might've been done some time ago

Lol, yeah, I know, but I already have an idea for a deck. I've never tried to theorycraft before though. I think maybe they're waiting for more cards to be released before putting any of them in as an option.
And yes, I'm being stupid :-p

Due to classes and mana cost, they would have a very different effect really. Though Pawful would likely be a Prince Keleseth style, massive jump in winrate if in your opening hand type card. Giving a crazy amount of early game resources to an aggro deck
Whereas Havmor would suit a combo oriented deck of some sort. Giving an extra bit of reach for OTKing those 5 billion armour warriors or druids :-)

I'm lost :-p

Haha, I remember that soooo well. But you can't just blame streamers. Troggzor is conceptually a crazy card. Just didn't work out, but there's no excuses for Boom :-p

I'm with you buddy. They always make it so difficult for control. Crazy busted OTKs is one thing, fair enough, combo beats control, I'm totally okay with that. But aggro always has a bunch of super strong decks. Like if you manage to stop them killing you by turn 5 and clear their board, they reload, you reclear, they reload. As if it's not bad enough that aggro is still coming after turn 20 and 4 board clears, then they get to switch gameplan and 'Hey, I suppose I'll just go infinite'. I really, truly do hope that they come to see how killing one of the 3 main archetypes shuts out soooo many players.
But anyways, salty rant over. I'm actually suuuuuper looking forward to this expansion. Soooooo many defining cards leaving standard, it's gonna feel so fresh for a while, and they're way better at speeding in the nerfs these days too, and multiple nerfs per expansion. I honestly think the game's future is looking kinda bright :-)

No :-p

Thinking of Dinomancy or if you Majordomo Executus into Rag form? :-p

This is the kind of thing that bothers me. Soooooo often I know exactly what my opponent is about to play and they wait for the rope to start burning, just cos. I honestly think people feel the need to rope every turn at high ranks just cos they see the pros doing it. Of course, there's time to think that's sometimes needed, I get that. I don't begrudge people their time.
But when I have lethal on board and you take 70 seconds to Psychic Scream, you're just pissing about.
I know, it's just a minute each turn, but still, I can't help but let it annoy me sometimes. But, that's my problem :-p
