You don't think that cos you clicked face for 250 games with face shaman to legend, but it is VERY bad meta and every pro and even designers themselves admitted are aware of it and will hopefully fix it in the upcoming patch this month.
People will always bitch about soemthing, but now they actually make very much sense.
Toymachine, one of the rational, logical writers here even started whining for personal, subjective things. He was calm even for midrange shaman after nerfs and said "it's easily counterable" when one of its worst matchups is the mirror matchup.
Yes aggro is too strong but it isn't opposed by anything except turn 6 reno. Because reno/kazakus (maybe jade druid but it isn't played much) nearly blocks all other good-against-aggro decks. Fools here write "c'thun/n'zoth warrior doesn't see play because of aggro". They are just aggro haters no matter what and always bitch about it.
Last expansion's cards are already shown more frequently, this brings enough "freshness" to arena.
You don't need to buy cards to play arena, so for new players it won't make a difference, maybe wild is even better because they can see and use wild cards. They could only see them in tavern brawl if standard arena is implemented.
It will split arena players to 2.
"More spells" is a good idea but not all classes benefit from that equally. Add weapons to that blizzard, please.
I don't love it that much where I would not want to play standard ranked anymore. I just currently love Reno Mage because of Kazakus and it doesn't seem like Kazakus will be enough once Reno rotates out.
Yeah kazakus is a really great card but it will be only usable on Raza priest after rotation (assuming blizzard won't print more highlander cards). Have fun with the deck while you still can.
It's Turn 3, damn it. Doesn't matter what deck you're playing you're just doomed from that point on unless you specifically made a deck to counter this BS, and just managed to draw everything that you needed to.
Don't worry guys, Blizzard will nerf Pirates eventually, just gotta wait 6 months more.
Good morning, blizzard announced balance patch coming late february. It's coming after 3 months, still long but an improvement over 6+ months. I hope it decreases down to 1 month.
This deck would also lose horribly against renolock, dragon priest etc. Just not spectacular like this.
Aggro/Face decks aren't a problem in general, they're actually a necessary component to a healthy meta. Pirate Warrior feels a little bit absurd though, I must admit.
Exactly. Only Small-Time Buccaneer is imbalanced and blizzard will address it. All these whiners should go to salt forum and this thread should be locked.
Well poop! I really enjoy playing Reno Mage but if I really think about it my favorite part about that deck is Kazakus. Hopefully highlander decks post-Reno will still be viable... :-(
Just play wild if you love it that much, standard needs to be saved from reno. He erased all other control/midrange decks from meta (except a few broken decks like dragon priest) with the addition of kazakus/potions. Life tap or ice block + reno is cancerous.
Have you thought of the possibility that some of those "bad players" just want that playing the ladder might ever become PLAYING again instead of its current state of mindless face masturbation?
Those players whine whenever they lose to a deck really. I can't really stand their attitude.
"current state of mindless face masturbation"? Aggro was always the most played deck type because of the ladder system, deck cost etc. Even in patron days face hunter was the most played deck. That is a problem blizzard must solve, like making strong low-cost control decks and reworking the ladder. In this state of the game aggro shaman/warrior players do what blizzard lead spike,low-paid players to do sadly.
Congrats man, nicely triggered all aggro haters who can't take losses against unfavorable match-ups or just bad players. I still think aggro shaman is too powerful but not unbeatable unlike these whiny players moan. I can't wait for nerfs but these players just wanna win 100% with their own decks and don't care about the balance of the game. The cancer of hearthstone is these players.
Ragnaros is not holding back garbage like medivh (who has seen play), foe reaper, rhonin, nozdormu, and anomalus. A majority of 8+ legendaries have actually been used in competitive decks at some point in the year of the kraken:
yshaarj: hunter
yogg: druid, mage
cthun: druid warrior
nZoth: paladin, warrior, priest
Deathwing: warrior
Varian: tempo warrior
Alex: Reno mage
Rafaam: tempo warrior
Aviana: Kun druid
cenarius: token druid
Jarax: Renolock
Maly: rogue, druid, freeze mage
Onyxia: yogg token druid
Ysera: control warrior, dragon priest
alakir: midrange shaman
Grommash: tempo warrior, patron warrior, even some control warrior
Rag, light & tirion: nzoth paladin
how come rag hasn't held back 22 of the 33 8+ costing legendaries in the year of the kraken? Are you seriously suggesting A significant reason why icehowl hasn't been used is ragnaros?
Lol at the same post medivh is garbage (it at least has an unique effect) but y shaarj, rafaam, onyxia etc are competitive :)
As Neichus said, other 8+ high damage/stat legendaries are basically inferior to ragnaros. The ones you listed are mostly used for other purposes, used with ragnaros together or just replacements. For example, al'akir is just weak (who needs divine shield/taunt when there is a 0 mana 5/5 taunt?), especially after rockbiter nerf.
This is also true for dr. boom (standard is a blessing to me because of him).
I hope sylvanas and thalnos won't be touched because they have never been a problem, they can't be replaced without reprinting and sylvanas is such an iconic card.
You want to be just immune to all other decks because you play a fucking 10k+ dust control deck? GTFO. Midrange was, is and will always be favorable against control. L2P
This video was short and mediocre (except auctioneer part) with many unnecesary, distracting sound effects. But this guy has really good animations, "jaina vs. guldan" and "everything can be hacked" are my favorites :)

What's the point of standard arena?

Why? There are a lot of 1-mana pirates but only 1 2-mana pirate (Bloodsail Raider)
If Small-Time Buccaneer is 2 mana 1/3 it will be balanced and another 2 mana pirate option.
But.. i noticed that these cards are nearly same so I don't know how blizzard will handle it, and I can't wait.

This balance patch is probably the fastest response from blizzard, only 3 months, not even waited the new expansion and rotation.
