I think one of the problems is the definition of what constitutes bad manners varies so greatly. I am an older player - stuff that bothers me, I have been told, does not bother younger players. But I'm sure there's things I do that others would consider bad manners. When I first started playing I never thought I would use the squelch command, but there have been times where I have used it - the endless "well played" after every card you put out, or the endless "thanks" no matter the situation.
Thanks all for the responses. I actually ran into an auto-conceder today at level 19 so it was just a statistical anomaly I'm sure. I'm still about 350 wins from any golden hero so I'll be bouncing up and down the lower tier ladder a while.
Playing around rank 20-15, I'm seeing a ton of players with golden heroes, golden legendaries, etc. I'm assuming these people just auto-concede a lot in order to keep their ranks low, then blow through easy wins. Am I right, are there a ton people using this "strategy?" And how come I never get them when they auto-concede?
Well maybe you can answer this question on secrets as well. For certain secrets that involve a minion dying (Redemption, Duplicate) it only triggers if the opponent kills the minion. But other secrets explicitly say "when an enemy attacks" (Noble Sacrifice). Why doesn't it say "when an enemy kills your minion" on those first two?
I tried playing this today but have only once once with it. It gets overrun pretty quick by the aggro decks that I am seeing. I do like the idea though. Thank you for posting.
Did you later confirm that it was, in fact, Mirror Entity? If it really was, it probably has to do with the word "play" on the secret. You didn't play a minion, you played your hero power that summoned a minion. Slight difference.
Yes, it popped when I played a Leper Gnome in the same turn.
Your Silver Hand Recruit is a minion, but you didn't play him. Mirror Entity requires the minion to be played from your hand, not put onto the battlefield with your hero power/Deathlord/etc.
I wish it were more clear on this. It's not very intuitive. But thank you for the explanation.
I was playing, as a Paladin, a mage today who had a secret. Thinking it might be Mirror Entity, I used my hero power to summon a 1/1 guy thinking it would pop the secret. Of course it did not. My question is: why? Isn't it a minion?
Thank you for taking the time to write this. I admit that a lot of times I struggle with just when to play certain cards or combos and in retrospect it always seems like I played them a turn to early or late. Looking forward to reading the rest!
Do not use your emotes to mock. You cannot control how other people interpret your emotes, but you can control how you use them. Only use "Well Played" when you mean it. Only use "Thank You" when you mean it. Etc. An occasional "bluff" emote is acceptable, but using emotes as distraction, irritant, or mockery is not.
This is the one that gets me. Telling me that every move I make is a mistake is just asshattery. I really try not to use the squelch command much at all but that is one that will get me to use it every time.
I am getting pretty tired of lag costing me in ranked games. When you see your opponent start giving out those "I must consider" bubbles but there's no timer expiring, I know it's already a loss. Not once has the connection kicked back in where I've been able to salvage the game. Why is there so much more lag associated with the iPad than with PC?

This is getting old. Are they attacking pretty much everything related to Hearthstone or Blizzard in general?

I do, but that's because I'm one of the unwashed masses.

I'm still showing in the middle of an arena match that started like 20 minutes ago. I have no idea what's going to happen when the eventual DC comes.
EDIT: Hey, I won. not proud, but I'll take it.

Happy to say that I got this today. Some of those heroic battles were real grinds and glad I never have to revisit them again.
Now to try and craft my legendary Echoing Ooze deck!
