    Quote from VictorRed >>

Everyone know how good is Zephrys the Great.

Everyone know what requirements he has. Unfortunately Zephrys the Great also plays in decks that do not initially meet his requirements (combo druid quest, murlock paladin, combo paladin and 70% of other decks quickly sucking cards from the deck).

In my opinion highlander cards need a new requirement: deck may not contain duplicates (neither at the beginning of the game nor during).

Your opinions? Are you done with Zephrys the Great in almost every game?

Following this line of thought, a bomb warrior fucks your deck the second they get two bombs in it.

I'm not saying it's a stupid idea, but maybe limit it to the part about no duplicates at the beginning of the game.

Even then though, I'm not sold on the idea of limiting the card at all.  I've benefited from, and lost heartbreakers to, that damn genie.  It's a fun card.

I always always ALWAYS accept these requests when they come in after a game.  1 out of 10 is a nice guy who wanted to say good game, ask me about my deck ,etc.

When they come in hot and salty, though (yes, read that just like you imagined it), I always reply with:

"Hoo boy, what a game huh?"

I am enjoying the hell out of reading these.  I share in some of these mistakes with y'all, as well.

I too have put Houndmaster and Master's Call in the same deck... and have also put an even cost card in a Baku deck >_<

posted a message on Your biggest mistake in deck building

We've all been there.  You built a deck that you are really excited about, or you found one online that you wanted to try out.

You go through the deck builder, carefully crafting it card by card.

You get in to your first match with it, and.... wait, where's that card you needed?  You frantically look, and you forgot to put it in!

Tell us your story of that one time you made your biggest "oops" in deck building.  I'll start off.  I took a trip to HSReplay this morning looking for Shaman variants.  I decided on this deck:

    https://hsreplay.net/decks/gN2T8tr7Nw8eNxsePuIORc/

So I built it, but made a few adjustments here and there.  I cut one Mind Control Tech and made a few other small tweaks, etc.  Not important to the story.  What is important is that when I got in to my first match, which I did on ladder rather than casual, I discovered that my opening hand did not contain Corrupt the Waters.  I had forgot it!

My opponent was a N'Zoth, the Corruptor Rogue, and I thought about conceding 4 turns in.  When I drew a Questing Explorer, I was embarrassed to play it... I mean, who plays that card in a non-quest deck?  The Rogue must have thought he was playing a moron (which, to be fair, isn't far off).

HOWEVER, this story has a happy ending.  He got very unlucky with his taunt draws, and I was able to burst him down before he got his healing taunts online.

SO.... now let's hear yours!  What was the biggest "oops" you ever made in deck building?

posted a message on Shaman is too OP

This whole thread makes me chuckle.

I got in to this game with Shaman as my first love, but abandoned it because it just didn't win.  I tried Hunter, Paladin, and Rogue and Warrior... and now, finally, I'm back where I've started, full circle.

    War Shaman.

posted a message on Hearthstone is slowly dying, will it do any good?

You start this entire discussion not with open ended questions, but your own assertions that many of us do not share.

First up, "Hearthstone is slowly dying".  Can you prove this?  Can you show us their revenue reports and player base from launch till now?  The game had its' peak during the WotLK, but has continued to turn an immense profit.

Second, "the metas were boring for 3-4 years".  This is purely subjective, but your opinion appears to be the minority, judging from the information above.  Hearthstone is doing just fine money wise.  Stands to reason that many are just fine with the meta.  in fact, the RoS launch was lauded by many as one of the best in some time.

Finally.... this train of thought is so very tired, man.  People have been decrying HS as "dying' for years, yet here we are.  Here you are, in fact, out here discussing it.  The game is doing fine, man.  If you want to bail on it for something else, that's cool.

I hope that LoR does well, and that by doing so it drives hearthstone to be better.

A free market provides better products.  If HS sees LoR taking customers, they will up their game.  This will cause LoR to up ther game.  We, the players, are the winners from this.

Why dont they "Blizzard" test this kind of stuff out first? It kinda ruins the fun and interactivty of the game1

Testing takes money, forethought, patience, and interest.  Why bother doing any of that when you can just release some cards for free hype?  They allowed Patches, Genn/Baku, they don't really care about balance.

IMO Evolve Shaman is more of a problem than the mages, 3 4 drops drops turn 3 with coin is the epitome of toxic gameplay.

I play Quest/Evo Shaman these days for ladder.  Thus far I'm up to rank 5.

I ran in to another Quest/Evo shammy just now on the ladder who nailed the perfect starting turns curve, where I had just the opposite with a shit hand.

He had Gruul on turn 4 on the board.  I had a Healing Totem.

When I finally dealt with his Gruul, I was at 9hp, he was at 28hp.

Came back and won that shit.

Moral of the story is, it sucks to run in to a Mogu Fleshshaper and Mutate in the early game, but instead of rage quitting, just keep your wits about you and play smart.  It's not insurmountable.
