How are people gonna say this is a weak card? Compare it to priest 6 mana dragon 4/4 which MIGHT kill a minion. This is 2 mana more, but it basically guarantees a minion kill and you then get a 3/9 body with the potential to do it again to a big minion. It basically has to be removed before you can play something else big. You're crazy if you don't think this sees a lot of play.

Zion7 posted a message on New Paladin Legendary Card Revealed - TuralyonPosted in: NewsI like the idea of this card but why 8 mana!? When you go to the collection builder it's extremely clear which slot is lacking... why couldn't this be printed as a 6 mana card, there is gaping void for 6mana cards the size of TEXAS! This is exactly the kind of card you would need at that point in a game, it's right around turn 6 that this would be most useful. By turn 8, HUGE swing turns are happening and the game is often coming to a close, you can't be playing something this tame on turn 8...

DarkArchon21 posted a message on New Paladin Legendary Card Revealed - TuralyonPosted in: NewsThis would be playable at 6 mana, 8 mana for this just sucks. Also very underwhelming text for such a iconic hero, absolutely zero thought and uniqueness was put into this. They just used a generic recycled ability that we have seen before.

Do you only have cards for those classes, or just refuse to be competitive?

I think that we should just make a poll and find out if either Yogg Saron or Ragnaros wins.

I think that many people are underestimating this card. I think that it's just amazing for paladin: you drop on turn 4 or 5, cast a libram of wisdom and this can become such a high value and high tempo minion very early on. The only problem of this card is that it could cast libram of justice and consac, which would be veru bad since you definitely want to keep those for the right occasion, butr at the same time there might even be a possibility to build a deck were the amount of good buff cards is so superior to the low rolls which will make it worth it.
That being said, this card is so horrible for priest that it's kind of ridicolous: the class has nowhere near enough buff cards to build a deck without the removal ones, and it wouldn't be worth it for just one single legendary. I am a paladin enthusiast, so I am fine with it, but it really sucks to see a card that is basically a "fake" dual class, since it's made for a specific archetype and it' utterly useless in the other class.

I am so glad they made a card like this. I have always loved goofy midrange paladins that buff their minions and then refill. This should be great in a Pure Paladin (or, as I call it, the Paladindin).

"Scargil says this card is amazing! Lord Godfrey begs to differ."
A nice murloc board refill card that is preety annoying to deal with, but also very heavy on mana cost.
It interacts with:

This is a divine shield paladin deck I worked on for a bit. It plays Bolvar Fireblood and some other divine shield cards that you do not see very often. Ah, it also has Hakkar. Do not ask.

Hey man, it has been a year since the last post you made on the page, but i want you to know that there are still people who enjoy your incredible work! It is inspirational and fantastic in every way! I can't wait to see more of your cards.

I am a main paladin since Kac and I now have all standard cards for the class (I am working on the Wild ones). I hate Odd paladin, I love Even paladin (midrange is my favorite archetype) and I like Combo decks. Everyday I log into Hs and I try to make some new deck. Me and other hs players created the Undatakah Infinite Loop combo and we brought it into the ladder. I even posted a version of it on hearthpwn. But here's the thing: Genn and Baku are a problem for paladin. A big one.
Let's start with the most obvious one: Odd paladin. Nobody likes it, it is annoying to deal with and finding it in the ladder is always a "fun and interactive" experience. I think that Odd paladin is not just a cancer, it is THE cancer, the greatest balance problem in hs history. The reason is that are not the cards to be broken, but the hero power itself. Saying that 2 recruits are a problem if there are ways to buff them is just wrong. In fact there are almost no ways to buff them now that level up is gone, but still Odd paladin is tier 1. The deck runs basic cards and tbh fungalmancer is the only card in there that could need a nerf, the others are just fine. Level up was indeed too strong of an interaction, but do not say that it was broken even before and odd paladin only highlightened this fact. Most hs cards have a power level depending on what role they occupy in a deck. Level up was in the dude paladin deck before genn and baku release and it was completely fine, because it was not that easy to summon that many dudes. There is no denying that level up was a problem in odd paladin, so it was rightly nerfed, but it was Baku itslef that made the card broken. If odd paladin never existed, level up would have been a fine card for dude archetype. Broken decks are not based on broken cards by themselves, but on broken interactions between them. The thing I think you were trying to deliver is that a card like level up could have been brought to that insane power level even by another deck, nor even or odd. If in Witchwood they didn't release genn and baku, but some insane ways to summon silver hand recruits, maybe the same nerf could have happened for level up. So where is the problem with odd paladin? Is it another strong deck like any other? NO. I say no because even if it got nerfed it is still going strong. Even if it has to play basic shitty cards, it is still tier 1. That is possible just because what makes odd paladin good is just having that hero power, that is completely insane. Having ALWAYS that infinite value without losing card advantage is the most broken thing in hs right now, and having it since turn 1 in just a design mistake. Justicar could be played turn 6 AT BEST, making the upgraded hero power playable since turn 7, where having two 1/1s every turn is not the craziest thing in the world. Baku, for paladin, was a huge desing mistake, that made a monster.
Even paladin is a different story. Even paladin is rightly balanced now, really strong, but it is the cards that make him that way. Corpsetaker, BoK, Spikeridged Steed, Lich king.... the cards of even paladin are so good, and surely the problem of the deck is not the hp. BUT, what if I tried to do a midrange deck not even? It sucks. Why? Because even is always better. Just always having a turn 1 play is nice AF, and in general it fits erally well. And since almost all the midrange cards for paladin are even, there is no reason to not make it an even deck. But why are all the midrange paladin cards all even? BECAUSE OF THE FECKIN ODD PALADIN. Paladin has always been a midrange/aggro class, but the devs couldn't print odd cost cards for those archtypes because of odd paladin, so they all printed them even, making even paladin really strong and the only way to play a midrange paladin deck. THAT is restricting the design space. Now I don't have time to continue, but I think you got the point.
