posted a message on The problem with the game has and is mana cheat and draw
    Quote from Neko_Tamo >>

I feel the deeper issue is power creep, if you keep putting more and more power into the cards for the same cost the game will inevitably get faster or at least more swingy. Probably both, and that is exactly what we see. Broken ass draws, mana cheats or minions are just the symptom, not the disease. In case it isn't clear to you, go play some Classic mode and compare the powerlevel of things there to Standard, or God forbid Wild. I am pretty sure if you put Dr. Boom in Core he would not see much play, and he was the OG WTF broken minion.

Power creep also has the effect of neutering your collection over time meaning you increasingly have less and less value in Wild and even from past expansions of Standard at this point. Makes any kind of long term satisfaction in this game feel like rolling a boulder up a hill. Or paying the boulder to go away. Which is why power creep is a tool, if I can even call it that, that they use. It makes them more money.

It is a big part of why I vowed never to pay money again until they sort this shit out, which they never will. It started with the Wild/Standard split which was basically them admitting that they can't make new cards that are both not OP but also interesting and playable without artificially chopping off a portion of your collection every year. It was a short stroll from there to abusing power creep. Add in some other questionable design choices and lies and this game is now in considerable shit.

Completely agree. Too bad very few people realize this or care about it enough to stop giving them money for their stupid design decisions. I wish there were no more whales in the game such that it gets changed to a monthly subscription. Imagine the outcry then, for the shits they keep doing...

I've said it repeatedly - these designers need to go. Likely others from other games have fresh perspectives and are able to implement some easy fixes (e.g. cannot reduce any card cost below 1 mana, unless it started at 0).

    Nice!

Too bad no one would play this card, since by the time you draw it, the opponent's questline is already complete or the game is over.

posted a message on How about we buff the quest cards instead of nerf
    Quote from PrincessKenny >>

Make them 7 mana 7/7. it doesnt need to be complicated.

Probably not enough. The next card set is gonna have other powercreeping bullshit that will make even that 7 mana 7/7 too powerful. Finishing the game on turn 7 instead of turn 5 is not that big of an improvement. Games should last, on average, the same number of turns as BGs, with less prevalent cases that either end the game earlier or a bit later.

But i guess the marketing target is toilet players, so they drowned the game in the shit water.

Thanks for the rundown guys. It made me realize that BGs aren't worth playing either.

These morons have no idea how not to create stupid powercreeps in any format.

posted a message on How to beat full poison murlocs?

Poison gets wrecked by other poison and deathrattles (summons), or divine shields. His build is just a counter to yours. Tokens/summons can also even the score but you need some good stats on them to counter the murloc health he had.

It seems counterplay has been set aside in the name of shorter matches so people can play Hearthstone on the toilet.

That is literally the trajectory this game has taken, no exaggeration.

This. I hope the game drains down the toilet :)

@mods: is it possible to have just one "vote" button that stores all of the options we picked?

I know this means implementing "grouping" for each pair of choices (and i think Bootstrap and other libraries have something similar ready to use), but it's extremely annoying to wait for a dozen or more site refreshes, then scroll back down to where you were (because the page scrolls top upon reloading), then vote on the next, etc.

    Thanks

posted a message on Your hobbies besides HS?

Voted the 3rd option. I enjoy strategy and tactical games, especially turn based, or anything related to space and exploration that is properly done (Avorion, Starbase, Evochron legacy, etc). No man's sky is boring and too repetitive :)

Other than that, i care about my health a lot, both physical and mental, try to be positive about life, wish the HS designers get fired, and I enjoy watching the Stargate tv show for the 4th time (i think).

So glad a lot of people dislike these overpowered things in the game.

Well, you wanted fast(er) games because you hate long(er) matchups. You simply got what you asked for and deserved!

If/when you get over the "play a game while on toilet" mentality, maybe something will change for the better. Until then, enjoy what you asked for!

posted a message on What's keeping Battlegrounds from leaving the beta stage?
    Quote from SCWT_FTW >>

Yeah I agree the beta tag seems insane at this point. Iksar has hinted that there are still some possibly significant changes that they are considering. (Ex: not being able to take more than X damage in a single turn until at least one person has been knocked out.) Still though, I don’t think that’s reason enough to keep the beta tag.

That limitation will barely have any significance, since the bottom 4 people rarely have any fun in the game. The purpose is to lose quickly and play again. The "one more turn" idea. Unfortunately it doesn't work like that (maybe except for streamers that gain money from playing this shit 8h a day).

But since their target audience is kids at puberty, it's pretty easy to manipulate their minds.

I remember first booting up battlegrounds 2 years ago. It's still in the Beta stage, what's keeping it from an actual release?

Because blizzard is a poor excuse of a company (especially because of the designers).

posted a message on Hearthstone is rigged af
    Quote from P4dge >>

If you're so convinced the game is rigged to the point you have no say in your win rates etc then why the fuck are you playing the game? How monumentally stupid are you? Your wins? Nothing to do with you. Your losses? Not your fault, rigged.

Anyone who genuinely believes this but continues to pump their time into not only the game, but coming in this forum and crying about it is just dense.

The second I became convinced of anything like this in any game or even any other activity in life, I'd be long gone. If it's rigged then what on earth is the point?

More likely, it's crap players with crap attitudes. Just do something else with your time then. If you honestly think it is and has always been rigged then it's completely pointless playing, isn't it? Nothing you do matters, you only win because the game decided for you to, so you never win through your experience, skill or knowledge, so what are you getting from it?

    Fucking brain dead community, honestly.

Maybe it's not rigged to 100% make you "lose", but only to increase the chances of having a very bad matchup. And considering how deck archetypes and metas have been defined by legendaries (quests being the easiest to check for) and maybe specific epics, it's not so far fetched that these "pushed" meta decks are considered in the MM, based on *some* of their cards. Individual card win rates and such don't matter for this (they are more related to making sure a certain card is used and is viable, on a more global scale, to make sure there are enough of those decks to counter others and/or be countered by others).
