Well it is a tournament deck, so it was build to counter the most common tournament deck type: control decks playing versus control decks. Those are build in a way to ignore aggro decks because those are not common in tournaments, their early game is weak.

posted a message on Priest vs Hunter. Almost lost several times but somehow managed the win

Ugh, just watching made me shiver. Had to force myself to continue two times and stopped after the Snake Trap.

You played the first Pyromancer on an empty board that is alright when you don't play against a deck that runs small minions where you want to combo it into a board clear. Pyro into Holy Nova for 3 damage?

Then you had Blademaster, Northshire and didn't use Circle to heal the Blademaster and draw a card. Yes there could be another Hunter's Mark but one was already used on the Northshire (wtf).

Then the hunter played Buzzard and a trap. You never ever play Buzzard without beasts to draw cards so the trap must have been Snake Trap. At six mana you could play Auchenai Soulpriest and heal-kill the Buzzard, but instead you throw your 3/2 into a 2/1. That is just a "what" moment as even without any abilities considered, the Pyro deals more damage when going to face than suiciding into the Buzzard. Board state considered, that not only draws him three cards, developes his board, kills your Pyro - it was your second Pyro so no more AoE clears with that.

why the hell is (almost) everyone running paladin?

I was wondering the same but reading the description cleared things up. WIth Leeroy and Buzzard banned you would obviously pick the stonger tournament decks. Handlock, control pala and druid are so versatile and with the other rule of only playing a maximum of two games with one deck you need to take into account that you have to change the deck even if you face roll with one deck.

But it would help if knowing stuff like that didnt have to come from trial and error

You can by watching streams or tournaments.

For the possible Ice Block you will see people try to reduce the opponent as low as possible and keep enough damage in hand before triggering the secret. That way the protection is for one turn and the opponent has to have another Block or an Alex to heal.

I played versus a priest who got one of my secrets through Thoughsteal. He got me down to lethal and he was in lethal range as well but had my secret. I tried to push him as low as possible but couldn't manage without wasting damage. Was Ice Barrier.

posted a message on 90% win rate pally deck

Can we please stop with this win rate crap?

For a 90% rate at 2 lost games you played 20 games at those lowish ranks where you face all kinds of decks and a huge difference in player skill. However from rank zero star 13 to full star 9 there are only 22 stars and you get the win streak bonus which is not broken enough by two losses.

TL;DR: low sample size at irrelevant ranks and something does not add up

But most people do not have a complete deck list. They are 'casuals'.

I wish fervently someone could put out a good substitution/synergy guide, because sometimes even something minor like an angry chicken can make a difference. (I know, my paladin actually uses the angry chicken/ sword of wrath combo to create terrifying removal bait.)

Those casual don't play at a level where not having a card makes or breaks a game. They face other casuals who lack cards as well, who misplay, where different decks are played and where non-casuals stim through without much resistance.

At a higher level those cards missing mean losing the game when you don't have the TBK or BGH or whatever card you need to deny your opponent the board or tempo which you could never get back once you fall behind. There the opponent will capitalise on that lack and punish you for not having the card.

At lower ranks there happen misplays that let you back into the game.

For the substitution guide: the problem is the small card pool at the moment and what players are most likely looking for are substitutions for legendaries, which combine more or worse have unique effects that can't be made up for with a non-legendary and only sometimes with another legandary.

Is a Loot Hoarder a replacement for a Thalnos? Yes if your intention is to draw the card. Is a Kobold a good replacement? Yes if you want it for spellpower. However if you want both, there is no option for that. A Sunwalker can be a Cairne, but nothing can be a Sylvanas.

The reason why you can't have a simple substitution guide is that many cards are so unique that there is no good subsitution for them.

posted a message on Card decks! What card deck draw made you lose all faith in you ever winning the lottery?

Well I don't really look at those cards. When I bought my first 40 packs I went through them all in 5 to 10 minutes just stopping at some epics and legendaries. The commons and rares didn't interest me as they were bound to appear so often and I just dusted the doubles.

For your pack it isn't that bad, the cards are at least playable. You could have gotten actual garbage like Tauren Warrior, Thrallmar Farseer & Co.

Starving Buzzard wasn't a problem you apparently just have a lot of whiney bitches in the top tiers of Hearthstone who didn't want to play around the Hunter class so they just vote banned it and got in Blizzards ear about it until they got there way.  I still think there are crazy balance issues with the other classes... even more pressing than Hunter but hey, keep picking on Rexxar, because your tourney decks couldn't counter this one class.  I hope Hunters still continue to dominate...  they will because I don't need SB for the win, I just needed it for card draw... which now I can't combo anything out till turn 6 or if I try to play it turn 5 it won't stick because it's only a 3/2... make Starving Buzzard 4/4 and it wi be the beast version of Gadgetzan... At 3/2 for 5 mana it's just a sad card that is underpowered and doesn't even merit being used.

I've been playing Hunter since WoW so the class is a natural fit for me, it sucks that Blizzard is apparently aligned with a bunch of crying babies... Hey my class can't heal so let's ban Priests because that's unfair.  Steal my minions, destroy them, heal yourself... Yet my card draw is such a problem it needs to be donkey punched?  I dont want to use the word nerf because that would infer some type of fair and balanced approach... No, this was just a biased and unfair decision to cripple Hunter players right before the major Hearthstone tournaments.  Flame me all you want, the class was fine and didn't need to be nerfed like this at all.

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

Yes the Buzzard was the problem. You "just" needed it for card draw? It punished the opponent for playing minions, then drawing into many cards and then clearing the board.

Hunter will be different after the nerfs but no longer in its current OP state. Denounce top players as whiney bitches as long as you want, that is not an argument.

posted a message on Malygos or Jaraxxus?

Personally I would wait for the meta to settle. Yes there is a lot of talk about Malygos in rogue and Jaraxxus in handlock, but you will get no refund for them when they don't appear in either of those decks due to a different drift.

Also, don't DE your Leeroy if you do have one. That is just a damn stupid thing to do.

Why would that be? You will get the exact crafting cost from dusting it during the grace period. NOT dusting Leeroy is the damn stupid thing to do. Just sitting on the dust until the dust settles (huehue) and you know the new meta, is what everyone should do. You can ALWAYS recraft him without a loss when Leeroy stays, if not you just gained 1200 dust over dusting him later for the normal 400 dust.

OT: If you currently have Leeroy you can still run him as a finisher. After the nerfs dust him and wait for the new meta before crafting.
