MyDude33 posted a message on Apparent Restructure At Blizzard Hearthstone TeamPosted in: NewsI'm not saying they're good or bad. I'm just saying the market forces are at play here more than anything. Too many people and not enough work to go around has been an issue for 3 years now. Gotta get rid of the bloat when the money isn't easy.

MyDude33 posted a message on Apparent Restructure At Blizzard Hearthstone TeamPosted in: NewsI don't care about that stuff and I am happy it is happening. I am in tech and these layoffs have needed to happen for a long time. There is so much bloat and people who need to be gone to make room for better people to come in. They also need to open up money that could be used to pay other people more or acquire better talent. It's never a one sided story.
Sucks when it happens, but people need to read the market and be self aware about what value they actually bring rather than chase that high profile job and a big name company. They can and will spit you out much easier. That's not to say it is because they are evil and don't care. Just that the bigger the valuation of the company the more value they expect you to bring if you want the paycheck that comes along with it.

xskarma posted a message on Masters Tour Spring Championship - With Drops on Twitch!Posted in: NewsI mean, she works for the Hearthstone team now, so, kinda hard to cast if you are officially tied to the company. If she says anything positive or negative about a player it might be seen as favoritism, etc.
Plus, she basically got directly replaced with Edelweiss, who was seriously insightful when she did an event last year. Give me her over some of the other casters any day of the week. Knowledge >>> making bad jokes.

xskarma posted a message on Hearthstone Achievements - Festival of Legends Expansion PatchPosted in: NewsStep 0: Achievements give experience, always and forever.
Step 1: Create new account.
Step 2: Do allllllllllll the achievements you have from now and in the past and get a crap ton of XP and reward track progress.
Step 3: spend all the gold and resources on a card collection you can play with in standard.Step 4: Return to Step 1 with new expansion.
Seems like this would become something people can and would do in this situation. If you start the account and prep it a couple of weeks before, and get all the freebies from Watching Streams etc in the run up, you get set up very nicely. AND you get a free deck on top as a new player. Just have to create a new Battlenet, which you might as well do in this case.
So yeah, this would not be something you could do without stuff like this happening and being very viable. -

Oh boi - so much fuss about one digital pack of cards for a video game... Jesus...
Ofc this starts and ends in the middle of the day, a big middle finger to the working class!
You work? Then you make money - go buy some packs & instead of whining & crying "gimme gimme" it's your time to give something...

I have already decided that I'll pick Envy first, every time. No exceptions. BURN.

Might be a new round of DDOS.

Are you positive you had that card before? It is one of the cards that were part of the core package.
I still have mine that I got in Stormwind.

Which part of "it was a core card that is no longer a core card and thus needs to be crafted"?

The issue is that there is currently only one deckbuilder mode. You can either have the current cards or you can have the post rotation set.
So either you can't build any decks for this expansion or you can't theorycraft. Maybe a toggle can be added that would switch the selected set or something but not sure how much effort that would be for the short period before a new expansion.

Immune means you can't target or damage it.
This wording means you can still target the enemy hero but there would be no damage dealt (think Freeze, old Alex,...). All things that don't need a target will still deal damage.
And that's why it is not immune.

This reads as if you were just looking for confirmation.
Of course are the last few ranks before legend the more competitive as there is no more star bonus that boosts players to this rank. So players need to put in effort.
Of course will your first game in legend late in the month be at low legend rank where players fool around just like in low ranks.
This has nothing to do with being a "meta slave" or creative originality.
Also do you mean being open with numbers? Because Blizz can't be dishonest if they don't publish numbers in the first place. If you want to climb and play on a competitive level, reach legend earlier and go for top 1k or even higher. All other ranks are probably just fluff.
And yes, bots probably reach legend. All it takes is a winrate of just above 50% and enough games.

You conveniently skipped the next sentence that 90% of the cards in wild are DEAD. Entire expansions are not worth buying because they won't see play.
Yes, some titans are used. Yes, some quests are used. The rest of the 135 cards from the expansion? Not needed.
How is that a cash cow? This isn't standard where cards are used because there are no alternatives. Where decks are balanced every so often. That's where you need the majority of cards. For wild you cherry pick what you want to craft and are good for years.
There is also no hidden reason: they said multiple times that wild is hands off. They don't want to balance wild outside of broken interactions.

It's clear that you have no clue about latency and how distributed systems work.
All the actions already happened on the other end before you see them because it has to travel through the cable to your device. Against a human player this also has to travel from their side to the server and then to you which takes even longer.
With a Blizzard bot, it happens almost instantly on their side so I guess that is why the achievement popped before the rest resolved - similar to when achievements in BGs popped at the start of the combat. Because there the combat was also already resolved, you would just watch it play out.

Yes, it's roping that Blizzard dislikes.
