posted a message on The start of the year of the Phoenix feels underwhelming?

This is all subjective and as such, you'll get a whole number of different opinions which vary from terrible to great and everywhere in-between.

Personally, I'm playing more than I ever have before and flicking between 6 or 7 decks with others I've yet to try. Would be good to know more about what the single player content will be but I'm sure that will drop sometime soon.

It also wouldn't surprise me if this expansion was a little low key. They work on things way in advance and for all we know, a good amount of time has been taken up by the new class and the new game mode due in the next expansion.

If you're not enjoying it, it might be a good time to take a break and come back when the solo/next expansion drops and see if it takes your fancy there.

As for the META, I've literally seen the exact same comments on it for years now and it isn't just this game. So I don't really bother with giving the complaining too much thought. Go and look back for say, 3 years and you'll see:

The game is dying, the Devs are lazy and/or greedy, the META is stale, X class is too op, nerds happen to slow or not enough, the game is boring, there's not enough content, not enough freebies, RNG is ruining the game.

I could go on bit no matter what just launched or is due to launch and what state the game is, nearly all of these are said at the same time. They are just constant complaints and like I said, they aren't just exclusive to this game although I do find this player base on the whole to be one of the worst for serial complaining, rudeness and skating the game of any game I've been active in the forum's etc for. There will always be happy people and unhappy people, I'm enjoying being in the former group to be honest.

Also, people will say they are unhappier than they actually are. They might be really wound up in that particular moment but they do enjoy the game. Too many people keep playing and discussing it yet say it's awful for me to believe they genuinely think that. Most of it is in the moment salt.

posted a message on What site is the best to see what decks are good and what winrate they got?

I find HS Replay to be fine to be honest. Several streamers also have YouTube content featuring best decks to climb with and will generally talk through the best 5 decks and the stats etc.

Dekkster and Old Guardian in YouTube are really good for these types of videos as well as OG putting up guides for budget decks with good win rates. I find checking them out to be better because they will show the deck in action and OG in particular is brilliant at talking you through his thought process and decision making as well as what to Mulligan for etc. Even if I don't use the decks, I enjoy watching then because it gives me some insight into how they work so I'm more aware when income up against them.

posted a message on I am looking for (Super Control Deck) !

Control warrior has been really fun but I can't really make any work at the moment. The loss of Dr Boom was huge and there's nothing that replaces him. Also, Warpath rotating out was a hard hit, along with the mechs. It now feels like it just doesn't quite do enough of anything to be consistently good.

Priest is ok but as was said above, it's a bit boring. The copy mechanic is good fun but far less consistent because it relies pretty heavily on pulling good cards with things like thought steal.

Handlock is alright but will depend on having certain cards. It's got plenty of clears and healing but can hit fatigue fairly early.

It's not a particularly control friendly meta at the moment. I personally prefer control to aggro but am finding mid range/tempo style decks a fair ish compromise at the moment.

I don't have anything against aggro or those who play it, it's just that it feels too much like 'draw the right cards and likely win or don't draw correctly and most likely lose' which doesn't do it for me to be honest.

They seem to be setting some classes up for future control decks though. Warlock, Warrior and DH all have promising pieces, they just need a little support which could well be the idea of the next expansion. They seem to like to swing it so one archetype doesn't consistently dominate the meta over a year or so. We're just currently in a more aggressive, fast paced meta which could well change with the introduction of a few control tools in other classes.

Lol look at all this assholes responding to your post! I have the same problem. I don't care about single player content and of the cards of this adventure i care about 2 of them the 1/2 for warrior wich is rare or common cant remember and the dragon for hunter which is rare. I couldnt care less about the other cards and the fact that you cant craft them is ********.

Then you don't get them, it's really simple. What are you struggling with? My 11 year old understands the model of free to play and he doesn't complain about it. Think about that for the second before you inevitably shout and swear because you aren't getting your own way.

Idk mate but for f2p player saving a decent amount of gold for packs that will take more than a month and then having to save up 700 for chapter is pretty insane. Seems pretty ******** if you ask me, atleast make the adventures cheaper, not be 700 for 1 chapter or if you could craft the cards to cost as you were crafting them golden idk. Lets say you have taken 2-3 month brake from HS and you return 20 days till the next expansion how can you save soo much gold

You wait. If you've taken a break and come back then you save your gold and grind the exact same amount as someone who had to grind for gold before the adventure was released. If you don't want to wait, put a bit of actual money into the game. It costs money to develop and maintain, you know that right?

There's not some charity that supports game developers so you can consume as much as you like for free.

Why should anyone or anything cater to you at all?

Why is it that freebie players are usually the most entitled? What service do you provide in life for others at no charge? I'm going to hazard a guess and say none.

Or why don't you design and develop your own game and cater to all the free to player people such as yourself and see how you like the constant abuse you'll get?

posted a message on Why? Just Why?

    "mulligan for [insert rnd cardname]".

Just lol.  you cant predict the outcome of the cards you'll get offered when you mulligan. you may end up getting even worse stuff than before.

so whats this idiotic advice all the time?

It's increasing your chances of getting something. When I first started playing I generally kept my hand at mulligan because I didn't see the point in it either. I'd maybe ditch really high cost cards because I'd found I'd get stuck with cards in hand. If I'm playing rogue though, I will ditch almost everything, everytime against hunter to increase my chance of getting a stunner and it's helped in mutliple games.

Judging what to keep and what to ditch at mulligan is really important whether you understand or like it or not. If I'm playing super casual I rarely concentrate at mulligan and keep a lot of what I'm given because I'm not thinking too much and those are the times I have my worst win % easily.

As for the OP, it's been mentioned that DH and face Hunter do damage differently and that's just it. It's why I prefer facing DH, I feel like I can play around the tube 5 priestess etc to a degree, save certain cards or play a certain way. It feels aggressive but fair. With FH however the gnomes in particular are very tough to deal with. You take damage even if nothing is actually attacking your face. I've lost multiple games with lethal on board simply because they've managed to get me to 2 health and had explosive trap which leaves me completely unable to do anything except attack and die. Face Hunter is very tough to beat without a really good draw especially for classes without a lot of healing.

posted a message on Did anyone ask Blizz why they made DH hero power cost 1?
    Quote from slice_of_pi >>

I think we need a buff... to the spelling and grammar of those in this discussion.

    But on topic now...

The 1 mana hero power was clearly a design choice.  Someone already linked a video detailing Blizzard's choices and thoughts around this topic.  So, it isn't going anywhere any time soon, and will probably never change.  You can disagree with it and post on forums all you want, but like many other things in life you might not like, it isn't going away, and you'll just have to deal with it.

Same goes for the power level of Demon Hunter in general for now.  Is it over-tuned still after two rounds of nerfs?  I would say yes, but not massively so, and I'm guessing that it is currently pretty close to where Blizzard wants it.  After all, it makes no sense to introduce a new class only to have it immediately or quickly become irrelevant in the meta.  That's just a terrible business decision; Blizzard would much rather it be slightly overplayed / overpowered than slightly underplayed / underpowered, because that's the reasonable business choice here.  So, they won't be "nerfing it into the ground" any time soon either.  Will they eventually nerf DH in the future?  Of course; name me a class that hasn't ever had a nerf to one of their class cards (I'll save you the time; they've all been nerfed at some point).

Also, if your logic on the DH hero power is that it is too much damage output (at least to the HP of their opponent), then you should have just as much of a problem with Hunter's hero power, as it is as mana efficient, and completely ignores both taunts and targetability.

Far too sensible, no point really bothering to he honest. You're dealing with immature, irrational people and there will be no sensible debate. The one thing I genuinely dislike about the internet is that it forces me into coming across absolute idiots, despite the site (like this) being a valuable source of information.

They can't win in this situation and it's a shame because when you watch the linked video, you can see they have really tried and genuinely care about the work they're doing on this game. If they released it and it was Tier 3, people would be up in arms, calling them useless and accusing them of rushing a bad class just for a cash grab. If it's marginally at the top, as it is now, you get what we currently have and people look down on it being used.

Which is mental, I've seen post after post after post requesting another class etc, they release one and you have a decent section of the players immediately judging anyone who dare use it. I've seen streamers actively brag about having few or no wins with the class, like it's some sort of medal.

Don't ask for new things and then label anyone who dares okay around with it as a 'fan boy' which is such a cringe expression in itself, my 11 year old has matured past using it.

Is the class strong? Yes. I genuinely don't feel it's oppressive though, I much prefer seeing a Demon Hunter over a Face Hunter, for example. It's got a cool flavour and different mechanics and I'd hope they view it as a success so that other classes might be released in the future.  If they draw the nuts you're probably going to lose, unless you do as well but that's the case with a lot of classes. As it is, I wouldn't bother if it was me on the Dev team and I'd stick to more vanilla, bland releases just to be safe.

Don't think I've seen anything released without people kicking off in this game. Comfortably the worst community I've seen in a game. Incredibly childish and ignorant.

posted a message on Why more DH nerfs are inevitable

Honestly find face Hunter more suffocating. I have a win rate of over 50% against DH with multiple classes and other than the odd god draw type of game, feel I've got a chance a lot of the time.

Face Hunter tends to cripple me though, unless I'm playing priest and draw really well. Toxic reinforcements is one of my least liked cards of all time and if I see it on turn 1 I know I'm facing an uphill battle.

Had a game earlier and drew extremely well with rogue, managed to bounce a bunch of cards and stall in order to stabilise bit still ended up being killed when I had lethal next turn. What's most frustrating about it is that you can kill DH minions, you can backstab them, holy nova, rush them etc and you generally get the opportunity to build a hand that can navigate through their bigger turns but killing some Hunter minions just results in taking damage anyway.

I think they would need to be very careful with merging DH yet again, it wouldn't take too much to really hit it hard and I don't personally feel it's all that problematic so I'm pretty comfortable if they leave it for the time being.

No offense but you could make Diamond 10 playing with only basic cards

Why even post this? What are you gaining? This community is so toxic it's unreal.

OP well done, now you're pretty experienced with the deck, aim for 5 next month and see where you need up. I've wanted to give libram paladin a go but I'm missing a couple of key cards and I went dust happy on expansion release and so I'm holding off on crafting anything until at least the next expansion. This is where Whizbang was really handy, you could grind him for a few days after release and get a feel for a lot of the new cards and what you enjoy or don't enjoy etc. Miss that little guy.

You seem to need to put games down and look into working on a healthier outlook. I assume what you're saying is tongue in cheek but that's still not normal. It's a virtual card game, if you're wishing death on people over it then do something different because it's not healthy.

posted a message on 9 of 10 classes currently have decks with a 60%+ winrate.

There is more choice for decks than at any time I can remember playing this game. Pretty much all have something fun to play with and can almost hear any other class. There are obviously heavy favourites in some match ups but generally you can mess around with anything and climb the ladder.

There's a new mode coming, battlegrounds seems to have a strong following, although it isn't something I play in too much, more fun cards than I can think there ever really being, a new class and swift nerds if needed. Throw in some kid expansion content they've been putting out and I've only seen this game go from strength to strength to be honest.

I've had a great time playing since the expansion and have comfortably played more than at this point in any other expansion since I started and there are still so many decks and even classes I haven't got round to really messing about with yet.

posted a message on Secret/Stealth Rogue is going to be Tier 1
    Quote from Danjo >>

    Quote from Nimehte >>

Rogue is lacking board removal it is really hard to maintain tier 1 title for a long time for rogue maybe only for two or three days and it will be go back to tier 2 again.

Board clears are seeming to become more and more important. I often find myself wishing I had Vanish again when playing Rogue. There's so many ways for several classes to cheat out a lot of minions these days. It can be difficult to deal with without access to some good board clear.

Truth.  I watched a video last night of a turn 1 warlock that went down like this.

    Coin

    Kanrethad Ebonlocke

    Voidwalker

    Flame Imp

So on turn one this warlock pumped out 7/7 of stats with a taunt.  That's.... kind of insane.

Yeah sometimes you just have to accept that the god draw will happen and there's little you can do. I've had similar luck against DH though where I've gotten lucky with pulling a lot of removal straight away and it can answer even a very good board. Having a secret, a stunner or 2 along with a sap and back stabs doesn't happen all that often but it does happen and it can really frustrate them for the first few turns. To be fair, you can answer that on turn 2 with double backstab and a sap. They have taken 3 damage and lost 3 cards very early so you may well recover from it. They will likely tap on turn 2 which means you could well go into turn 3 with them having an empty board and down 5 on health. That obviously relies on being lucky with the draw but just as they can have insane luck to get a start like that, it's possible to get it as well and be able to respond.

Coin into bamboozle on turn 1 followed by a backstab and stunner on turn 2, then stepping the stunner back and playing it again on 3 along with a dirty tricks and another backstab does answer a lot of early boards and if you get lucky with them attacking into the stunner and bamboozle giving you something solid, you can survive the trade and possibly even draw a couple if they also use a spell.

Against warlock and DH I'll hard mulligan for backstab, secrets and stunners. Getting something like a shield of galakrond, kronx and Edwin however is pretty much game over against these 2 but when that happens it's just unfortunate.

posted a message on Secret/Stealth Rogue is going to be Tier 1

Hanar is an incredibly fun card to use and wins a lot of games on her own. With rogue you can bounce her back even with a blackjack stunner in a pinch which can pull you out of some tricky situations. With all the value and generation of other class cards etc it's rare to get 2 games that feel the same. It's one of the most fun decks I've ever played with and rogue has never really been my bag but I've gone from 50 something wins before the expansion because I never really enjoyed rogue's style or themes, to now over 100 wins just because I'm using this deck so often.

It struggles against anything that goes wide, fast but if you can keep the board stable for the first 5 or 6 turns then you can start to really get going. Stunner really helps here and I've even used shadow step to bounce the stunner back in early rounds to knock back multiple DH minions until I get some draw going and things like backstab can clear minions away or even to buy time to get Hanar going and once you can get some things like misdirection, barrier etc going it can give you a ton of tools to buy time and survive. I've had many opponents just concede after having yet another 5 secrets put down and they've given up trying to play around them all.

I'd say the only deck I consistently struggle against is gala warlock. They have so much healing and ways to build multiple boards that I rely on good discoveries to pull things out of the bag. The amount of board clears they have as well means it's hard to get a significant minion to stick. I'll even throw an Edwin down as a 4/4 early days just to get some kind of board presence because there's no points building a large one, I don't think I've ever had one stay around long enough against warlock to make any difference anyway. Between a double damage nether breath or 2, twisting nether, plague of flames, Zephrys or a combination of things like crazed netherwing, netherbreath and mortal coil etc, they always remove him.

Surprisingly good against DH provided they don't get an insane draw and get a 4 minion board by turn 3 or whatever. That's pretty much just GG although I think I've reached it once by getting 2 stunners, a backstab and 2 shadow step early on which let me buy enough time to get going.

If you can craft Hanar though I'd definitely recommend it, one of the most enjoyable cards I've ever used and I imagine I'll use her in some sort of deck until she rotates out. Especially as she gets refreshed anytime new secrets are introduced for the other classes.

posted a message on Best DH COUNTER Decks

Warlock counters it nicely. Sac pact is insanely good. The taunt which spawns a lifesteal along with the prime bringing them back feels DK Guldan like. Zeraku is a nice slam down just before the dormant demon wakes up and randomly splits 10 damage. Plot twist and Betrug combos again with the prime card as well as the taunt demon as well as being able to draw mutliole brood mothers and heal as well as nether breath and dark skies/crazed neverwing helping with board clears.

The big card is sac pact though. A free target removal which heals you for 5 is insane and clears up some of their big threats whilst negating any impact they had by spewing some random damage. Twilight light drakes help soak up the the random pew pew and if you have any lackey or warlock card generators it helps with cheating more than 2 of a card in.

Its day 2. It takes tine to find a good counter, and of course a new class will make a lot of players play that class.

DH obviosuly is strong, but who kones in a couple of weeks. I bet they will nerf a couple of the DH cards in the next few weeks, and then all will be good.

It already feels like warlock is a really good counter to it tbh.

Put down your little demon that pew pew a 10 random damage? Sound, I'll pop Zeraku down and then sac pact him. Cheers for the board and most likely more healing than you even damaged for. The amount of healing and lifesteal available for warlock helps stay out of their reach and with the ability to generate more spells you can dark skies, sac pact and plot twist out of all sorts.

It will most likely be less effective than it is now but for the time being it counters it quite nicely.
