That is true. I can't say i have tested that, but i don't like to rely on my opponent misplaying.

Horkinger posted a message on Qmage or Qrogue?Posted in: Standard FormatQuest mage seem to be the more promising Option. Unfortunately, Zola the Gorgon does not fit into questmage. It fits into quest rogue, though.
However, I think you should wait how the meta shapes out after the nerfs. It can completely Change since nearly all aggro and midrange decks are affected.

RavenSunHP posted a message on Should players get a full refund on affected cards?Posted in: Card DiscussionIndeed, it would be fair.
But in practice, how do you determine that?
They can tell you that Southsea Captain will still have the same role as before the nerfed cards came out, and you should adapt to that, if you like it.
Or a bunch of niche players may rightfully claim some minor or indirect dependance, but combinations are too many to cover them all.
The only reasonable cases are those with clearly direct 1:1 interaction, such as Thermaplugg. But these are so few that they won't care about integrating (and enlarging) their refund policy...

RavenSunHP posted a message on Contemplating Mana WyrmPosted in: Card DiscussionWould you also nerf Northshire Cleric?
Snowball power is quite similar, Cleric being more on the Control side ofc, but it can draw tons of cards, which means a lot.
My point is that Wyrm is a very strong card, but Aluneth Mage is in no position to threaten the meta, nor is the card so consistent and unbeatable with its highroll.
Maybe in the future.

Kovachut posted a message on Is control warlock safe craft?Posted in: Standard FormatMy personal advice - wait a week or two and then ask about our opinion again. I think that Possessed Lackey is a stronger combo than the cubelock, because there you waste at least 5 card slots for that combo (even more for every duplicate contributing to it) - the skull + doomguard + umbra + the cube + dark pact - and thus you have less space for some techs or something in those lines. Not to mention, that when people realize this weakness, they will punish the warlock player being so greedy (I believe with the simple solution of Spellbreaker and maybe better plays, somehow playing around those combos).
If you ask me, controllock will still be played in this expansion, but there is a twist:
1) I don't think, that you would need Rin, as she is mainly good in slow attrition or value-gathering control decks, which I'm more than certain the next meta won't be dominated by those.
For now you have:
Warrior - Error 404. Class not found.
Paladin - aggro murlocs.
Hunter - mid-range (f*ck that weak minionless deck)
Rogue - tempo
Druid - jade and token? (haven't seen that much from that class for now, might as well add Big)
Shaman - (weak) token evolve
Priest - Highlander (combo) or Big (slow mid-range I would say)
Warlock - control and zoo
Mage - Burn, in some situations Quest (if big spell Mage becomes a thing, then you have another target for Rin)the point is - see those decks and consider where really Rin is that needed; where you will have the time to play her, where you will actually win with something else; where she is too slow and won't destroy the combo pieces, because the combo decks can cycle really fast etc etc
2) I think, that the popularity of the decks, which counter him will rise - 1) Burn mage, 2) Highlander priest 3)???
And thus control warlock will need to adapt. How will this happen and what cards will be used instead, I can't really tell.Mmm this is the only thing, I'm thinking atm. If there is something else, I will contribute here more. :)

Kovachut posted a message on Is control warlock safe craft?Posted in: Standard Format1) Why would you put those two cards? What kind of a strategy do you plan to use them on? If you are only considering running those minions just for having something for the late-game, then a) this is not really how you build a competitive deck, b) those are a very weird inclusions. The first one is for value, the second one is more suited for some kinds of a combo deck (because let's face it, how often can you really use Alex on yourself to heal for bunch. I thought this would work, back in KoFT I saw streamers do it and I also followed their "tactic", it turns out Alex was everything but useful in warlock). So back to your question - if you ask me, you have more than enough late-game options, I even think you are overdoing it with the LK. You don't need extra value, as the DK is here for this reason and even more - value, sustain, board control. You don't need cards, which don't have much synergy with the rest of the deck. Not a big tip, but I would include Abyssal Enforcer in there, this is just a nice body (+ demon) with a nice effect.
Against aggro and mid-range all you need is board control and stabilization. Against control - and now I'm speaking from first experience, you only need to use your resources properly, not to overextend, sometimes even not to tap, as fatigue is also a factor in here and etc. Combo - well, a more proactive strategy, but that would mean changing the deck completely. What I'm saying is - there is absolutely no need to include expensive minions, dust- and manawise, in your deck. You can do excellently without them too.
2) I was far from talking about the cube version. And I would never ever call it powerful, I don't know how people let themselves get influenced by the streamers, but that deck is imho really overrated. In the cube version you can't (or better said, you don't want to) play the demons from your hand, because they are costly (Voidlord) and with a big drawback (Doomguard), i.e. you can't play them safely from your hand. What I was talking about, was the normal control warlock deck, the one which was used in the last expansion, but now slightly modified. Without the recruit or the other expensive/legendary cards.
If you are somehow interested about this opinion, then click here. This was more of a response to a user's post, but I can make an even more detailed post defending my words.

Castigation posted a message on Blizzard fanboysPosted in: General DiscussionQuote from user-26847294 >>Quote from AkiraTerion >>Quote from user-26847294 >>I often use the term fanboy (sheeple will also do) to denote the uncritical attitude towards anything Blizzard, a.k.a. nothing card designers come up with is wrong. If you challenge beloved developers, you are either:
- Salty (move to the salt thread).
- Don't know what you are talking about. Blizzard is always right.
- conspiracy theorist.
Loyalism on pwn is a serious problem for a thorough discussion. Also very nasty: you argue at length, the fanboy (doesn't read what you write) picks out a line mock you in turn.
End to end willful ignorance from the post to the signature. Fanboys exist. But, it's not bad design when you come up against something that counters you. That's called balance. So when you're spinning about hurling vitriol without substance, expect to be treated with deserved skepticism. That you think you should always be able to win, every time, just on skill means you don't understand design on these kinds of games at a minimum. Your argument would have merit in chess. Not so much in HS.
Do I have anything to add to this quintessential fanboys respons? I don't think so. I rest my case.
Oh god the level of irony is through the roof...

Not really, no. Not on ladder. It's simply not viable because what do you do? You just ban all of, or most of, the bad matchups for the deck you're laddering with.
Bans work in Conquest formats because you *have* to use multiple decks and there's a tactical element to the ban because of that fact.

Pass. So awkward. So cringy. And literally ruined the reveal of several cards last time by his idiotic misplays. No thanks. I'm not sure what the world sees in Day9, but I will hard pass every single time.
3
A little clunky, to be sure. But between this and Paladin's and Warlock's Loas, I would definitely give it to Priest. If this is the direction Priest is going, I'm going to be curious what other set support they print. Rez Priest is already on the ladder. It might get a hell of a boost if this is a good indication of where the new set is going.
4
No. The best news in this schedule is that we aren't getting super cringy Day9 who has no clue what he's doing. Regis is well informed. And Kibler is one of the most knowledgeable and best casters in Hearthstone.
But while we'd all love Brode to come back, he's got his own thing going and that's never going to happen. Pine with the rest of us, and hope that Team5 will still show that they have a clue after this set, being the last that Brode worked on.

You do realize that the winrates posted here, or on other 3rd party sites are confined solely to participating samplers, right? Blizzard would have *all* the data, which they don't share.
1
You've gotten good advice, but I'd add one more point.
Don't invest any more dust into anything unless you absolutely want those cards as core components of decks for awhile. A new set is arriving in just about 3 weeks. You don't want to be dead empty when it arrives, staring longingly at new epics and legendaries with no dust to get them.
2
In case you weren't joking; Yeah, 100g a pop. Doesn't matter which set.
And to OP; Yes, it's time to save now. Unless you're an Arena player, it's time to save your gold for December 4th when the Rumble arrives. 6100g and counting...

Ticket Scalper pretty much just becomes a soft Taunt card. People won't want to leave up something with a 5/3 stat line in general. Something that could get them cards AND trade well? It looks like a decent card.
Heavy Metal on the other hand just feels lacklustre. Geosculptor Yip is barely relevant in the meta now. Somehow a poor man's version with no statline for only 2 less mana seems pretty 'eh'. Unless there's support or cost reduction in the offing, that one's a pack filler.
2
I can understand why it poses an interest. At the same time, MtG:A got such a high rocketing number off the hop because of both its recognition in the gaming industry and its price point. That Artifact wants you to pay up front for a pre-order and pay for cards with no ability to earn them will be a HUGE knock for them with a lot of people.
I'll agree that it's unique. I also think it'll just be too much for a lot of people, especially those who hang in the HS segment of the gaming population.
2
Keep waiting. Unless Blizzard breaks their pattern, announcement of the reveal schedule should be sometime this week with it kicking off either very late this week, or early on next.
