I think it might become less of a problem when Totem Golem rotates out. Then, they'll only have 2 of the best early game cards instead of 3, but their board won't be much to speak of.

    See's OP's name.
Bets that he's complaining about a deck he can't play.
    Is not disappointed.

You're right, the principal is the same. When you spend real money for entertainment, there is no return on investment except for enjoying the entertainment.

If you don't enjoy the entertainment, then don't spend money on it.

Pokerstar's rake is usually 5%. Activision-Bli$$ard rake on this rip-off is 29%. If you can do the math, you'll understand why this is a borderline scam (and borderline online gambling i might add) and why your comment is total bs. But then again, if you like to get scammed and pay to play standard constructed, be my guest. After all the world is full of not-so-bright people and those that take advantage of that.
You think the world owes you something, and therefore you think that this game should owe you something. You wrongfully think it's an investment. You think that you should be rewarded with imaginary goods for the free imaginary gold you invest. This entirely optional game mode is a difficult concept for people like you who fundamentally misunderstand the nature of games.
I'm sorry. It must be a rough way to live.

Difference that you will not get your money back in any way. Money go only one way into Blizzard pockets.

What world do you live in where you are supposed to "get your money back" from things?
Do you go to the movies, watch the movie, then ask for your money back?
For people struggling to know what "stealing" is, I've included an example.

It was answer to comparison with Poker  Tournament in Monte-Carlo.
You could not sell your gold cards in this game! Even in greedy GabeN's Dota 2 you has the option to sell your items on community market and get your money back on Steam wallet.
So it's a fraud, you simply pay $10 for several ladder games, and you can't even get any profit from it. Even with 12 wins. Unbelievable!
And your video is racist btw. Your should be more tolerant.
I don't think you know what fraud is.
Also, it's Dave Chappelle dude. But I appreciate your efforts being an SJW.

    What they should have done:

Bring this mode out with the new expansion. Not only would the meta be uncertain, the reward would be the new packs. Also, the price should have been 200 gold, or 150 like Arena. That would have gotten massive attention and, I think, a lot of positive reactions.

But they did none of that. This, is a cash grab. It's there to fool people who don't visit Reddit or sites like this one. I've already said elsewhere that this announcement has gotten worse by the hour. And it's still dropping, I'm reaching disgust now.

Maybe you should take a shower.
Also, how is it a cash grab. Who pays for any of this stuff with actual cash?
You know there are plenty of people who do. And even if people use gold, that's gold they won't be spending on the new expansion. Making it that more likely they will pay with money instead to get those new cards. That's why they're bringing this 'new', 'exciting' mode out now.
And codus, to me it looks like the break even point is 7 wins, just like in Arena.
The people who would spend money on the expansion are going to spend money on it regardless of the situation. So you aren't increasing or decreasing spending from this group by releasing the Heroic Brawl.
The people who will not spend money on the expansion are the same people who are not spending money on the Heroic Brawl.  So again, you aren't creating or losing any additional gains here.
The only additional spending will be from the incredible few that actually spend $10 real-world dollars to play this. I'm not sure who those people are. There will be a few, but I would be surprised if they are significant in number.
The 1000g price is a barrier to entry. Like a level cap for a raid. It's a game mode for only those who don't find the 1000g price point to be burdensome, and who are confident in their ability to make it worth their while.
Different content for different types of players.
