My Highlander Mage does well vs Rogue but I have tweaked it to be more aggressive earlier. The wins typically come when you can apply persistent creature generation and keep their creature count down. They can handle your creature generation for a while but then run low on those resources. You have to keep them from building any big creatures and have a way to deal with that 4/5 taunt quickly. They also struggle with big creature removal, particularly if you have dwindled their resources first. Rinse, lather, repeat every turn, never let off the pressure.
A Rogue on his toes is trouble so you have to keep him on his heels, forcing him to spend his resources inefficiently just keeping you in check (also true for Face Hunter).
I tried Boompistol for a while and then took it out. 5 mana to limit certain classes only partially for one turn wasn't effective enough I thought.
How are you supposed to play around the ten million things a rogue can do it's actually dumb.
Hunter
one definitive answer. Rat Trap - the most punishing Secret in the game.
You can add Boompistol Bully as well if you really need to Hard tech against Roque.

Hunter hard counters Rogue in literally every way.
