First off, a bit of background on me. I am a f2p player apart from adventures (only wing 1 of brm) and have been playing for just over a year. O have a good-sized collection of cards, but am still misisng quite a few core cards.
I am a type of player who only plays to have fun, which means I play no aggro decks whatsoever. I am in the middle of crafting miracle rogue, ramp druid and renolock at the moment, only missing fandral and leeroy. I was just getting into the leeroy range until I watched Dog stream today. He was playing a very similar deck to tidesoftime's control shaman deck (http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/550152-tidesoftimes-shaman-americas-spring-prelims-2016v) and it looked really fun. However, I am missing quite a few cards and am wondering if crafting it is worth it. Of the two lists, I am missing quite a few key cards: Cairne, Nzoth, Hallazeal, Chillmaw and Ysera, as well as both Elemental distructions and I cant get lava shock, so the obvious replacement is Enternal Sentinel, which I have none of. Fire ele is probably a fairly good replace, eng for some cards. I have Ragnaros which could replace Ysera, and Chillmaw does not seem that necessary, so realistically I am looking at about 6400 dust worth of cards required to craft, and ideally with Chillmaw, so 8000 dust. Obviously that is no small amount of dust, but the deck really does look amazing do if you all think it is worth it I sould be prepared to buy some packs. So my question is, how many packs would get me to that magic number of dust, what packs are worth more to me and most importantly of all, is this deck worth it? Thanks
Thanks for the reply. I personally have no interest in aggro decks, I just find control so much more filling and enjoyable. I did not mean Chillmaw was bad, I just thought he was the least important of the legendaries outside ysera (i would sub in drakes for the dragon effect), but i may have underestimated him. Also, what order would you recommend crafting the cards I am missing in?
As a new user of this site, I am very disappointed to see 190 people view this thread but just one of them could post a reply. Is there something worng with my post or is there another reason noone wants to reply?
If I were you I'd stay focused and stick to my original game plan. It's easy to be tempted when you see something new and flashy and then suddenly want switch directions. If you've spent a bunch of time grinding your way to finish those decks, that means that they are interesting to you and I don't think it's wise to throw that out of the window so close to the finish line. Especially since you're missing quite a lot of cards for the Shaman deck. I crafted an Elemental Destruction to play the deck after the prelims and I only ended up playing 2-3 games with the deck. I thought I'd have a blast playing it but it wasn't my style. I'd be kicking myself if I'd crafted a bunch of Legendary cards too just for this one deck.
Thanks for the advice. The main reason I would not be so bothered by changing my game plan is that I use reckless rocketeer in renolcok which works surprisingly well, and yogg or malygos in rogue, which I have not played in about a month. Also, Fandral does not seem like a must have. I do like control shaman as that was the first ever deck I built, a cheap homebrew deck that got me 180 ranked wins before i realised how bad it was. Looking back, i was still having a blast however. Still, I think i should definitely be more careful if i craft it, and make sure i enjoy it before i craft anything major
