Trusilver is hardly a 2 of nowadays, but still played in almost every Paladin.
And this is why tempo Rogue is competitive in every single meta.
Mana cheat is a very, very strong mechanic. Backstab has a condition, which is easily met, so most of the time it is worth 1 mana- should it have no condition, would cost 1 mana. VanCleef played alongside just one card is already a mana cheat, because 4/4 is worth more than 3 mana. Same for Evis - 2mana deal 4 is an undercosted effect. Shadowstep reduces a cost, so it is a mana cheat as well.
This makes the cards so strong - if you can play something for the lower cost than it is worth, you play it, simple as that.
A lot of those cards arent auto include for every deck though...
Im not talking about every deck in the current meta. Im talking about EVERY deck. Want 2 for aggro, tempo, combo, midrange, and control. Doesnt matter what you are playing you just throw 2x in.
Arcane intellect is a good suggestion. But you probably dont put shadowstep or edwin in a combo deck for instance.
Funny thing is... you do :) All 3 Rogue cards I mentioned are played in every single Rogue there is/was. The only cards I was hesitant to add to the list are the two last ones.
