I have smooth performance on snapdragon 630 with HS installed on internal memory. When I tried from SD card, cat10 btw, there were many hiccups here and there..
I recommend using the Anjanath Bow vs. Tempered Kirin, it really isn't as hard as people say. Just make sure to keep your distance and don't greed, you usually have enough time.
Currently I'm playing on a LG G4 with a snapdragon 808 and sometimes it's a pain in the butt Wonder why, maybe the graphics are the prob then?
Not to begin with the miserable battery ...
Miserable battery is for me the main pain of today's phone. Two days without charging? NO WAY. Resolution 1080x2000something with 3k battery only? Meh... I better have 13mm "FAT" phone with 5k+ battery than the "awesome" thin phone you have to charge almost twice a day... but I am just a dreamer...

Look for yourself, Snapdragon 855 outperforms kirin 980 in benchmarks, particularly AnTuTu, by 7 percent. it has the best memory bandwidth (34.1 against 31.78 GB/s), which has a positive effect on performance in games. Not only that, game developers are more likely to optimize their products for Qualcomm Snapdragon processors.
Does anyone here have a clue or some experience which one of these two chips is, in general, better performing for Hearthstone?
Thanks a lot!

Huawei's homebrew (kirin) isn't bad, but I'd go with Snapdragon.
Both are great. I am rocking an 835 and it still works fine. People with the kirin (huawei p20 pro) seem to have a better performance still.
Both of your mentions are better and should crush hearhtstone.
I almost puked, you're talking about mobile processors.
Sorry I can’t really help you.Personally I’d like the Snapdragon 855 better but not sure.
( I thought both should handle Hearthstone just fine ) sry for bad englando.
... and?

iPhone 5 can handle Hearthstone easily, what is the question here then?

Just search Google "snapdragon 855 vs kirin 980" and click the first non-adjustable link. :))
TL;DR:
Snapdragon, all the way, by a mile.
