So me and my roommate play hearthstone on the same network....we played 3 games and didnt get the card back, am I missing something I thought you just had to play 3 games with someone on the same network....do they NOT have to be on your friends list? we both had find player locally, is there another way to search locally without friends list?
From what I know, I believe you need to play against 3 DIFFERENT people to get the card back. Doesn't matter if you win or lose :)
You need three people total on the near-by players list, but you can play against the same person three times. That's how I did it with the Sandbox method posted on Reddit. I created three different accounts and had all three of them appear on the same near-by players list. I then had my main account battle and turn 1 concede vs just one other account.
The only two accounts that got the card back, were the two that faught one another. The spare one, needed to complete the third slot didn't unlock anything.

Oops. This man is right. The evolve program makes it easy to find a large group of people on the nearby players list though :D
There just needs to be three people on your subnet and you need to play 3 games. You can either play with the same person three times or play with different people three times. It doesn't matter. (I have it)
If you have nearby players enabled you should see a nearby players list at the bottom of your friend list. Other than that I think they can still be on your friends list although I removed them just to be safe.

I think there's been a bug where if the person you're trying to play against is on your friends list they won't show up on the near-by players list. I had this problem when using Sandbox, so had to make all 3 accounts un-friend one another.

For some reason on one of the accounts that I used the "Nearby players" list was at the very bottom, below all the offline friends even and totally easy to miss.
Got it with my room mate, but we had to remove ourselves from the friends list (to see each other on players near you) and then put back on friend's list after we got the card-back.
I wasn't aware that this card could be obtained by cheating. I got it by following the terms laid out by Blizzard - three accounts logged into the same subnet and three games. So what if all the accounts, devices, and sub net itself were solely owned by myself and located at my private residence?

So I just played 3 games with my nearby friend so apparently it has to be 3 different people....well looks like I am creating a dummy account to play it on another machine....I applaud blizz for attempting something but these fireside gathering as too far and between

I used the Evolve program from a thread I found on reddit to get my card back since I didn't know anyone near me with hearth :c

When I see people use this card-back, I insta think they just cheated to get it, and cringe.

Not sure if hyped yet.

oh okay that makes sense since he was on my friends list, I will try again without him on it and then re-add him
