posted a message on Why is there no in-game chat?

Where are you finding these people you're supposedly engaging in this friendly and intelligent discourse with? I ask because I've been in Hearthstone since early on in the closed beta, I've played thousands of matches, and out of the dozens of friend requests I've received and accepted they've ALL been to flame me.

This is a 1v1 competitive game, it's not co-op, chat adds nothing. There is already a well played emote, and that's really about all I could ever see myself saying to an opponent. At best in my time as a competitive gamer chat, be it text or voice, has been a barely tolerable experience. The vast majority of the time it's been a toxic filthpit populated by people who probably don't realize that they're obnoxious. Add chat, but make it opt-in IMO.

posted a message on What you guys think about Naxx release?
    Quote from EYEamK1ra »

Its funny because it makes absolutely no fking sense at how slow they are releasing content. Other card games release 300 cards per 2-3 months and they are printed cards that cant be nerfed/buffed whatsoever. And we are waiting 30 measly cards in a digital game for that long. That makes absolutely no sense from whatever perspective you see it. Its not good for players and its not good for the company.

"I feel this way so it makes no sense from whatever perspective you see it." basically?

It's Blizzard, they've been slow as a tortoise marching uphill through peanut butter for decades. I don't think there exists a single person on the planet that can tell you with a straight face that Blizzard isn't slow, love them or hate them.

I'd argue that releasing 300 cards per 2-3 months would be worse for the game than releasing new cards slowly. Would I like to see new cards more often? Of course. Would I like for Naxx to have been released already? Yup. You know what I don't want to see though? I don't want to see Naxx be released as completely broken and unfinished. Things should speed up after Naxx, I mean this is Blizzard's first rodeo as far as releasing new cards goes, and everything should be smoother after this point. It's still going to be slower than the average CCG release schedule because it's Blizzard and they're slow, but things should speed up.

posted a message on Molten giants should be removed or changed.

Hand lock, which has been a thing in some form or another since beta, and has used giants, is OP? O.o
The giants weren't what was OP in the mage decks, it was that mages could keep your minions locked down forever and still deal massive damage and ice block. I don't even know if giants were in that deck? I think the giant mage freeze deck is something newer than that, and it's pretty bad in the current meta.

Giants were OP in the warrior OTK because they could charge. The OP part of that was the giants getting charge, not the giants themselves.

Nothing that a handlock can do with giants is remotely similar to any of the other decks that you mentioned. Now if you were complaining about the lock 20 damage for 10 mana leeroy combo I would be more inclined to agree that it's annoying, but giants? Really?

posted a message on What is with the commenting system now?

It's just how the comment system works. It works that way to avoid double posts. It all counts as one comment thread, but it's laid out the way that it is for easy reading. However if the last post (timewise) in the overall thread is by you, and you try to make a new post, it will just add your new post to the end of your old post. It's an amazing feature on forums, but it does look very strange for inline comments.

    Quote from Miatog »

Wow, those prices are insane...looks like I'll never see past the first wing!

This is very obviously not real/accurate.

$36 for the whole thing would still seem very high, but is more reasonable. $90 isn't even possible. Even the most hardcore fanatic wouldn't pay $90.

There just needs to be three people on your subnet and you need to play 3 games. You can either play with the same person three times or play with different people three times. It doesn't matter. (I have it)

If you have nearby players enabled you should see a nearby players list at the bottom of your friend list. Other than that I think they can still be on your friends list although I removed them just to be safe.

I think there's been a bug where if the person you're trying to play against is on your friends list they won't show up on the near-by players list. I had this problem when using Sandbox, so had to make all 3 accounts un-friend one another.

For some reason on one of the accounts that I used the "Nearby players" list was at the very bottom, below all the offline friends even and totally easy to miss.

    posted a message on Tinkmaster

Tinkmaster is actually the first card, other than duplicates, that I ever disenchanted. He's pretty much horrible after they nerfed him. Some cards (Argent Commander, Defender of Argus) get nerfed and are still useful ... Tinkmaster isn't one of them.

If there's only one card on the board and it belongs to your enemy and it's better than a 5/5 there is a SLIGHT chance that Tinkmaster won't completely bone you. :)

thing is, as i do not have rag this is very disturbing.

If you don't have rag, then you very likely just missed the other player playing a Faceless Manipulator on their own Ragnaros.

How does one become a popular streamer? Just need to hit legend?

Patience (because it doesn't happen overnight). Knowledge. A good personality.

I started watching Reynad when he was only pulling in 200 viewers a night. It took some time (and for Kripp to stop streaming for a week while he was in Berlin), but now Reynad pulls in 8K per stream easily.

So be legend, be a good player, not a douche, and have an interactive stream? I've always considered streaming. I use to be semi pro sc2 beaten bunch of pros like IdrA but I couldn't stream back then cause I had a bad laptop. Now I have a top of the line laptop and was wondering if I would be able to stream casually once I hit legend and get a decent following lol

Having a good/interesting personality isn't just "Don't be a douche." - You have to have some quality that attracts viewers and makes them want to watch your stream instead of other streams. Hafu sings and does "cute" things, Kripp drinks orange juice and is just really laid back, Trump talks outloud as he does the math in his head, Massan is very animated and his mom sometimes trolls the stream in the background, Amaz or whatever his name is also is very animated. Towelliee makes fun of himself and his reactions to less than ideal situations are usually amusing.

But yeah if you meet the hardware requirements for streaming and you think that you've got an interesting personality just go for it.

posted a message on Re-grinding rank...

Yeah I think they need to add something that makes even a small change in the game every season or every other season or just ... something. I was inclined to get legend once, and since then I'd rather just dick around with random decks and experiment than actually try for legend again.

posted a message on Blizzard Should Just Remove Emotes

I wouldn't mind an auto squelch toggle.

I actually wouldn't mind chat either, if the game had more StarCraft-esque chat options where you could opt to disable whispers from people that aren't on your friendlist.

posted a message on Stop posting your "win rate" in the deck title

I don't mind it as long as they give some info on what rank the win rate is at. I do however like for them to post some information about how/where the deck is working for them.

Just posting a deck and letting the community discuss it and judge it is pretty useless because often times the general population won't understand why a deck is effective. So really I like to see both. I like to see "This is my deck, this is how I use it, this is why I like it and what makes it unique and these are my numbers for how I'm doing with this deck at X rank and against the popular decks."
